- Derek Carter's first American Car was a purchase he made back in 1976. Del told his wife Liz, "Let me have an American car, I will get it out of my system and then that will be that"
But actually, Derek (Del), never really got it out of his system and all these years later he drives a multi award winning gorgeous bronze 1968 Dodge Charger. Undoubtedly one of the best Chargers in the UK.
This Charger was not Del's first one, but this one special car has now been with him over 25 years. It's definitely part of Del's family and when it attracted some trouble from nasty minded vicious thugs, Del was not going to cut loose on his beautiful vehicle.
Then, Del had more strife when the car was set alight in an arson attack. Weaker people might have turned their backs on owning USA cars after so much strife in such a short time space but not Del.
This video is all about how life can be really challenging at times but we shouldn't stop what we want to do because of nasty individuals who seek to wreak havoc on innocent people's lives.

Wow! This is terribly sad to see. A dear friend of mine sold all of his car and truck collection because he was harassed constantly by Police in America. He bought his cars when he was younger. Kept them in a garage and they were his pride and joy. Often people ask me if I want to sell my car and they get mad if I say no. But I love my car as your friend did here. Please be careful. People envy deeply.
I've spoken to Derek many times, and he comes across as a very decent, down to earth guy. Glad that a coupe of morons haven't killed his passion for muscle cars....
