I bought this bike two weeks ago. It's my first bike and my entry into the world of cycling. I've loved all 50 or so miles that I've put on it so far. Can't wait for more!
I love my Sirrus. Just does anything you need - commute, speed, fitness, a bit of adventure. It's perfect and got it for just 385 dollars pre-pandemic in 2019.
This things is a absolute fxking TANK i bought one 2 years ago for 90 dollars second hand good condition i STILL have the same tires After 3 years now i rode it EVERYWHERE ive got atleast 10000 miles on this bastard on the same tires and breaks its fcked up now with bald tires only front brakes but i still ride it 10 miles a day absolute BEAST OF A BIKE GOOD LORD
I bought this last month for fitness because gyms are closed right now. Rode it for ~ 100 miles so far. The max being 25 miles in a single ride. No discomfort. Very nimble and light weight.
This bike is my first road bike vs mountain bike. I've had it for 1 month & been taking it around Toronto & outside the skirts of the city for workouts. I love the speed it takes me & forget that the bike is even there.
It's been like almost 1 month since I purchased this as my first bike for AUD 499 (USD 315) and love it. Just after one week, we went ahead and put an order for one for my wife as well.
Thank you for your comment and your real life review of this bike. We have to agree this is the perfect fitness bike and we really enjoy riding the one we tested. Thank you for your comment
Thank you for the informative review. I appreciate you explaining the geometry and riding position and how this one compares to the 2.0. I think the biggest value of brands like Specialized is the proper assembly and support offered by the local bike shops that sell them.
Yes it is refreshing that a brand like specialized put so much research and development into their bikes such as the Sirrus 1.0 and 2.0 and still sell them at a good value. I totally agree with the fact that part of the value is always backing them up by a skilled level builder at a bicycle shop This is so important to make assembly adjustments and fit adjustments right in the store by someone who is a skilled worker. I have seen the other side of the coin many times and it's just not worth it. Pay a little bit more for a name brand bike and the support of the local bicycle shop and you will walk away a happy customer. Thank you for your valuable, it is right on spot!
Finally a video of the Sirrus 1.0 2020 model. I put a deposit on this bike waiting for delivery assembly pick up. I see the difference from this and the 2.0 As a beginner I can go without the upgraded brakes the upgraded wheels and gearset. I think the 1.0 is the perfect starter bike. Down the road hold on to it when I upgrade have around as a spare for a group ride.
I'm definitely going to agree with you on the 1.0 It is a fantastic bike for the beginner and advanced rider looking for performance on a budget. The frame set is absolutely awesome and with the components they expect on the 1.0 for the price you can't go wrong This bike is really fast around town and fun to ride plus a rock solid build that should give you lasting performance for the long haul. Have fun on your 1.0 it's a great bike!
My family just got me one of these for my birthday, really excited to put it through the paces! Thanks for the informative video though, just trying to learn more about the bike.
Well thank you for your comment! We're really tried to do our best with these videos although I'm not a total professional at this I'm a much better bicycle rider and have spent a lot of time in the saddle. I can understand how the stock saddle might seem a little hard at first sometimes it could be your sit bones are different size than what the saddle was made for. Please go buy a local bicycle shop and see if they can help you get a more comfortable saddle. I know we do this in our shop and are always glad to have them. Thank you
One of my friends broke his derailleur. We made the bike fix until we got out of the trails. He rode better without shifting than shifting. Sometimes this 3 by just mess your mind. People should ask their local bike shop to do them 1 by. Less weight and more reliable system. Right now in one of the longest segment where I ride I have the number 2 record in Strava. The other bikes are road bikes that are lighter and with more gears. I’m number 2 with my X10 running 45 psi on back and 40 on front. A 1 by gravel bike against road bikes. Mind is the most powerful thing. All time I’m 32 on that segment. I will need a 1 by road bike with a big cassette to make the top 20 ha.
Yes June Boo I have to agree sometimes a 3 x up front complicate things especially if you live in an area that doesn't have big climbing. Most bikes are easily convertible to a one x And you are correct It does save weight. Some of the lower tiered group sets still run a 3x which for everyday riding is definitely okay You just have to understand how to manipulate the gears so you don't cross chain. In your situation where you are pushing the limits of performance it's awesome to see how a few small modifications really enhance the performance. Keep pushing hard and I'm glad you understand a lot of it is in the mind. We like your style man and thank you for supporting the channel and you're valuable comments!
Yes the step through or low entry bike is a good option for sure. We have a video coming up shortly on this model. We have one brand new in the box to build up but I also want to put it through a thorough road test before the video is shot but please stay tuned because it is in our direct plans. Thank you
got my 2017 Sirrus for only $280 POST pandemic (1 week ago!) its the titanium lime green color one its in mint condition looks like it was barely ridden at all and it shifts sooo smooth do you guys think i scored?
Good question! The longer top tube allows the torso to be in a more natural position to not crunch the lungs. In short this means that the longest can breathe without constriction of a shorter top tube that bends the torso and does not allow the lungs to do what they need to do. The longer top tube allows the body to be in a more natural position. I definitely see a lot of bikes come into the shop that do not incorporate longer top tubes and I see the overall position of the riders not optimized for performance. This sets up the rider to fail right from the start. If you can't breathe it's hard to keep up with others breathing is so important to make the muscles work correctly It also helps the brain tell you you're in the right position to keep pushing the limits of performance that you're capable of. Very good question thank you for asking
Hello, good video. Im not sure which bicycle to buy Im between the sirrus 1.0, the trek fx1(2021) and the giant escape 3 (2020). those 3 are the entry level of hybrids of those brands. i like all of them. but not sure which one is better. best regards from mexico.
I just got this bike - I'm new to cycling and was wondering if there's any upgrades to this bike that you would recommend over time? Can the rim brakes be replaced with disc brakes etc?
I would say that they built this bike really good for the price If you're looking at upgrades try a nice pair of flat pedals with good bearings something like the crank brothers. The disc brake upgrade is just not worth it The frame itself is set up for rim brakesthen it would be a complicated upgrade It would probably cost as much as the bike. The 1.0 is a great bike as it sits.
Hi Jonathan Yes this is a hard decision cuz both bikes are awesome! I would have to ask you how flexible you are and what type of riding do you want to do most. The crossroads is definitely more comfortable and still very capable but the 1.0 is really a performer but does put you in a more aggressive position. The seat on the crossroads is wider and more comfortable but the 1.0 let you move around for quick decisions on the bike. Great choices on either just depending on your personal riding style. They're selling out quickly so make your decision fast before they're gone.
The value of material things has diminished emensly. I dropped $150.00 on one of these yesterday. Excellent bike that doesn't need a motor to get up to speed.
Hi again, other than the brakes, is this bike really any different than the 2.0? Here in Canada the 1.0 is $680 and the 2.0 $850. Does the 2.0 justify the price in your opinion? I’d be using the bike for road and street riding, fitness and commuting. Lastly, I’m 6’. Should I go for a XL? I don’t want to feel cramped. Thanks!
There are a few small differences between the 1.0 and 2.0 but yes you nailed it the brakes are the biggest difference there's also some component differences in the gears and derailers The 1.0 was solid with a 2.0 definitely elevates the game. Good luck with their new bike and please let us know how you like it in the long term I know we love ours!
Hey thanks Paul We appreciate your support I was actually wearing one of your t-shirts this week in the shop and thought about you quite often. We love the Southern Hood brand and of course I'm a big fan of don't punk out! See you soon my friend!
I measured a Maxxis Overdrive tire at 37mm (marked 40c). Could this take that and fenders? I noticed there's a hole right above the front axle. Can this take fenders and a front rack like the Atran Granny?
So far I have not installed fenders on the Sirrus but that is a project that I will be undertaking soon It looks like there's plenty of room for a bigger tire and of course rack mounts galore I will be working on stuffing some bigger tires inside this frame but looks like there's plenty of room. If you beat me to it please let us know how it goes Also send us a picture of your bike with the rack This is a very versatile bike so I would love to see one built up to carry heavy and keep dry during commutes. Thank you
@@TheBicycleRider Has anyone here measured to see if there's about 60mm front and rear tire clearance (like inside the frame & fork around the middle of the tire)?

Excellent review mate👍
is there a huge difference between this and the 1.0 2021 ?
No, I think lots of the vendors opted not to do a major redesign due to covid. That said, there was a price increase (a pretty hefty one too).
Where can I purchase one. All the local shops are sold out or a $200 more expensive
