I completely understand. At least, I can say that I made every penny it was such a 'high'. I can also comment that it lasted for about 7 years...nice top of the cars, big beautiful Southern mansion with a wife that loved everything that I was able to provide her with. Please this is not to offend anyone but at that time all my wife had to do was to look beautiful and be polite no matter how many of the high rollers in our business world came on to her. Funny thing we werent really happy. It was all kind of fake. I was the alcholic who would pretty much do anything for power and money in the job world. My biggest mistake was getting addicted to cocaine...long story short...at first it was really great. I was able to make big business deals and make big risks for large monetary profits not just for me but the team around me.... they would all treat me like they were afraid of me. It just that i was very aggressive not violent in that type of environment. Things came to a sudden stop when the office security escorted me out of the building. I was sitting at me desk literally having a panic attack because i made 2 risky deals but they were too radical to have been approved by upper management. I even put my own money into these risks because i found something in them in which i thought was going to equal big money and that i was going to be in the small elite branch of people over me who all had lots of power and. I made a few mistakes which is going to happen in this game but i made those guys lots of money.. i dont know the exact numbers anymore because when i was done...i was done. ..my house and my one car were all auction off with my former wife going to an older man with greater financial security... moral of the story is that i felt so empty spiritually because everything was about power; money; and who was on top right at that moment (changed frequently because of the nature of the business)... the only really nice thing was when i was made those big wigs lots of money but as soon as i messed up none of them treated me like i was the Man....they would always call me the Man when i won...completely different story when i lost.

I have been to Key Largo many times, it is a very beautiful key to visit and to live being a very quiet and peaceful place. Love this song, its music is fantastic and Bertie sings it beautifully. I downloaded on my iPhone and I have it also as my ringtone, it never gets old, and never will.
This was my favorite in '82... I played this 45 on my stereo over and over again only to learn later that my brother, whose room was next to me, got so sick of me playing this. I still love this song. Never knew what Mr. Higgins looked like, didn't matter because loved the song. This is a wonderful song. I heard it in Dallas on 88.5 KEOM a 70's top 40 School Station a few years ago. My mother who is nearly 80 says she likes this song too. I have been to the keys in 1989. It is a wonderful place to visit. Like Another World. The 70's were another world too. Thanks for the wonderful music and memories.
