Dionne Warwick and Frank Sinatra singing together it's something If another world.
Back in the days when music was truly worth it!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
This is one of my favorite songs by Frank. But it also makes me cry every time just thinking back over the last 70 years of my life. Bravo
you deserve the respect from all people for everything you've been going through in your life, i hope you keep continue spread the joy of life to anybody as well 😊
Me too!!! 🥹
You and me both..
I miss frank i really do like most of us, this man was the best and i don't care what anyone says his music was hands down the best just like his singing, yes frank you had it all because you were the best and you weren't like the rest, i know the good lord above is enjoying your music he only takes the best, so as i finish my comment on you R.I.P. MR FRANCIS ALBERT SINATRA. All the people in heaven received a gift when the good lord called you home. GOD BLESS YOUR SOUL FRANK. 💔💔💔💔💔, YOUR MISSED EVERYDAY.
I agree. He wasn't just a great voice. He always sang with such emotion. There were a lot of singers who imitated him, they had good voices, but his abiity to be an instrument in itself and the emotion he built in every song, was really unique.
Nessuno come lui a cantato la vita in tutte le sue sfaccettature.Occhi blu RIP.😍😍😍😍😍😭

There will never be another singer like him. There will never be songwriters like them again. I am not speaking about him because he is from my generation because he's not. People tend to always say that their generation music is the best. This guy was the best.songs always get to me. Let Frank Sinatra set your tone and turn him on for a couple hours.
Ol' Blue eyes ALWAYS gave proper credit to the songwriters, he respected the creative geniuses that gave him the words and music for him to shine like no one else, one of the many reasons he was THE BEST, one of Peter Allen's best songs, The Boy from Oz and The Voice, thank you for this amazing video
You are very welcome!
Did you also notice FAS also mentioned the glorious Don Costa arrangement? Brilliant Orchestration and Beautiful Song.
I totally agree, Dionne is a really underrated artist . Frank and the rate pack were a very difficult group! Frank through the years didn't record with just anyone! Only a few, he was very particular they had to be as good as he was. Dionne was in that class for sure!
These many years later, this performance is still gold, Solid Gold. Luv it!
To whomever posting these old Solid Gold posts - THANK YOU!!!❤
That would be me - Michael Miller - I was the Musical Director and theme song composer for Solid Gold, and I'm so glad that you and many others are enjoying my clips from our show! 🤗
@@bigeyezzzzzzz Thank You Immensely..
That's was just magical...... wow dionne and ol blue eyes!!!! We can't purchase those dayzzzzz
Keonti Toney will you make videos?
One of my favorite songs, good old days.
Beyond the spotlight, I have a huge appreciation for Mr. Sinatra for his valor and determination to break down the ignorance of show business. His stance in Las Vegas and other locations for black performers has been of paramount significance to entertainment and to the tourism industry. His bold stamina to that equality and his reverence to his friendships has solidified him as a MAN of character and conviction. This duet, how could it not be good. Having Dionne Warwick sing with him was the cherry on the whip cream. Complimented the whole dish, beautifully! Thank you, Frank Sinatra.
Just two great singers. They were a “special breed”!! I do not think our “now” singers can even compare vocalists like this.
Absolutely!!!...Not even close😉
Your sooo right
So true! Class and style at it's best!
👌🏽💯💯💯💯❤️❤️❤️
Beautiful!!💕💕
I do love Frank Sinatra's singing, I really love it...! He's so lyrical, so expressive, seductive and romantic...! Dionne so lovely and so great a singer. They are sooooo good on this...!
I agree 100% ... if I had to choose my favorite male vocalist of all time it would have to be Frank .... love , love , love that voice and his phrasing was impeccable.
Dionne NEVER triers to over sing.
A true singer.....Love you Dionne.
Frank is much better.
Wish it was just Frank solo.
This is a beautiful duet ...pure magic and if you don't get its your loss.⭐💚
@@brianokeeffe8621 This is a treasure!:)
❤️E Mister Sinatra ❤️
I wish they had made a whole album together! This is a fantastic rendition, thank you for sharing!
Absolutely extraordinary! A great song, perfect arrangement, and two fabulous voices. Solid Gold only barely describes it. Thank you!
Love that Frank gave Peter Allen the respect he deserves for writing the song, along with Carol Bayer Sager... loved that Frank even gave credit to the musical arranger.
Frank Sinatra, the greatest entertainer of the 20th century with one of the most unique female vocalists of the time. A unique performance. Thank you for this one.
Daniel Paul Debs I definitely agree with you I wish I could meet you xx
The greatest ENTERTAINER OF ALL TIME was Al JOLSON - BAR NONE !
Frank and Elvis two greatest ever
You ever hear of AL JOLSON ??? Frank was a GREAT SINGER but as far as entertaining goes NOBODY has ever reached Jolson's LEVEL !
@@thebambino4728 Sammy maybe came close but close only counts in horseshoes! lol
frank and dionne the dream team blend together in perfect harmony so beautiful
To be honest, this was Frankie’s best vocal performance ever…. He was on tune and never forced a note…. His voice got better with his age like fine wine…. And as for Dionne, her voice is always sillky smooth and effortless….
When did he sing off pitch? Or “force” a note? Can you share examples?
Never had a great voice? Are you kidding and His best ever? Get real. He’s in the twilight of great career here and doing his best with his instrument at that point in time, but by no means it is it his best in his career.
@@user-us6qf3tv4yя такой глупости ещё не встречала - к Синатры не было голоса ???????? Да вы что такое пишите ????
@@uptownjay😂 yes,i wouldblike to hear it....
Frank Sinatra's best performance was EVERY performance he ever did ! ! !
Frank & Dionne...what could be better.. sensational!
Omg! The first lines out of Frank’s mouth made me shiver. Then Dionne followed with her incredible voice. I’m close to tears.🙏🏽😥❤️And the song’s ending😭
Francis Albert Sinatra worked hard, lived with it constantly, etc. However, he apparently loved and was passionate about the music that still makes us all feel warm, happy and comfortable.
That's not a dumb story, Frank! God, this is beautiful. That is one thing Frank always brought to us...beautiful music.
New Jersey in the house! East Orange and Hoboken
Oh man sinatra at his best with such an emotional song I’ve loved this number since hearing it on Past Present and Future album
If you thank God for every second of your life then that will certainly include hearing these two and this song it doesn't get any better ...
I say to myself when I die I wont be able to listen to Frank anymore!!!!!
I’ve never heard this song before and I’m literally in tears 😢❤how beautiful 👏
Before our divorce, my hubby and me attended a Peter Allen concert. This song tugged at our hearts. 🥹🥹
Sinatra is the greatest of all time. And Dionne Warwick is one of the most under rated singers of any generation. Together they made a fantastic music. Even on Sinatra's TV specials during the 60's, the pair had a great musical connection. Would have loved to see a "Duets" CD by the them.
Great performance and interpretation of this wonderful piece of music.
billyblais Billy .. met both of them privately .. both down to earth ... "legends are though".💕💕
billyblais
Dionne Warwick didn't feature in his TV specials but Diahann Carroll did.
billyblais she’s extraordinary. When she 1st sings ‘I should’ve seen it in your eyes’. This is a masters duet.
nime mici
Why y'll keep saying that she's underrated. She has sold millions of records and second to Aretha for the most charted female artist in Billboards of their era. She won 63 awards out of 72 nominations. How is she underatted???
No One can sing like Frank, but no one can hum like him either! Beautiful ending.
Dionne Warwick can make any song sound beautiful.❤
I listen to this every day.I never tire of it, especially when this duo songs it and I am
82 years old. WOW!
My whole body is moved by Mr.Sinatra and
Ms.Warwick.
This excellent Sinatra/Warwick performance serves to emphasize that Sinatra would have been better served by recording his "Duets" CDs with his singing partners physically present for more immediacy, rather than having Sinatra lay down his tracks in California, while his partners recorded their contributions separately. I can't imagine that Streisand, Bennett, Carly Simon, Liza, Natalie Cole, and the others would not have been willing to join Frank in a recording studio. Great segment.
MrImiller0
Those albums was such a horrible way to end off his career and life. So cringy.
See the thing with frank that late in his career....whatever anti depressants Barbara had him on made him seemed so zoned out, I don't think he could have had a Duet while in they condition unfortunately. There were times in those years during concerts he seemed 100% on the money and with it, maybe didn't take those medications. Who knows.
This was one beautiful duet between Sinatra and Warwick. Surely one of the best.
Dionne and Frank: superb and sensational
both born on december 12.....and both born in new jersey....frank in hoboken, and dionne in orange.... in this video she is also wearing orange frank's favorite color
I did not know that.
J C ...Marie Dionne Warwick was born in East Orange, New Jersey.
The dreamy quality of 80s video was perfect; had it been clear, the fantasy would have almost been lost.
Wow!! I never knew they had a duet!!?? Thanks for recommending for me UA-cam
Did you catch Dionne's reaction when Frank planted one on her lips at the end of the song? Like the biggest thrill of her life.. It was precious.
One of the most beautiful melodies ever written but not very well known, just unbelievable these two legends sound amazing together, Mr. Sinatra true to the original song Mrs Warwick adding her soulful subtleties I'm in heaven!
Great singers
for a month i was searching for the tittle of this song, thought it was sang by barry manilow. unfortunately i did find it here yesterday...today is one of my happiest day i made...i wanted it all... love, love, love the lyrics, the melody ...the music...
Just being able to see him talk....can't ever get enough... beautiful song...love the music of Peter Allen and Carole Bayer Sager...
A class act! Superb. Just can't duplicate this kind of performance. Once in a lifetime, just once.
Beautiful!! 100 times better than the s*** out now!!
Or then.
I wonder what Mrs. Dionne was like back-stage? I love her so, I own every record that she has recorded - and got get through a day without her.
This is absolutely Franks saddest song that he ever produced.
I always wondered where this song came from. Fascinating to learn that it was written for him.
This song came late in his life & I think it could be applied to all of his loves
Written by gay man Peter Allen, give props!

A v.nice comment🙂also so emotional.
😊Have a nice day.
Just discovered this creation on "Seriously Sinatra". A great melody sung by great artists, composed by noted song writers and orchestrated by Don Costa. Frank gave them all the credit. This is Frank's style. He always gave credit to the folks that made the music he sung. Absolutely fabulous!
Dionne looked like she was generally IN AWE of Frank which was really FUN to watch ! Two GREAT talents that did what FEW have ever done AS WELL !!
A rare and beautiful performance by Frank Sinatra and Dionne Warwick
beautiful song and I have to accept that I didn't know this song before but I m realizing right now that is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard ! Wao ! music and lyrics!
Wow!!! Two amazing superstars who've really & truly earned that title.
You can say that over and over, two great entertainers
Ms. Warwick wore orange for Frank as it was his favorite color.
Frank is my favorite singer of all time. His recording of You and Me is probably his most underated song. It doesn't get the acclaim of some of his other songs. In this rendition with Dionne Warwick, while Frank is obviously older here, the note he strikes at 4:45 of this video beginning with " Look how all our dreams came true " is unsurpassed.
Thanks Frank and Dionne
MaryAnn Brown even though they are lip synching (it's for T.V. ), they sound great together! He should have sang this one more! I've never heArd it before!
This us about my favorite song that Sinatra sings, truly a beautiful song, and yes, at least he is lip-syncing here, as SO MANY artists do when they appear on shows. The track though, is the same as when Sinatra made his recording in 1978/9 -- I don't know how they omit the singer sometimes, maybe they delete the singer's mike track and leave the orchestra.
Mike Seppy Are you 100% sure it’s a lip-synching? I don’t think so, that’s live and I don’t believe Frank Sinatra has ever done lip-synching for the exception of movies soundtrack.
Absolutely not lip syncing!! Singing to a track, but totally singing live!
M.J. Leger Nope, Sinatra does live only...
It really is sad that no entertainer today can top any of these from yesterday I truly love music from the 40s to the 80s all of a sudden it's all gone poof
Frank and Dionne should have recorded a duet together..such wonderful singers.
No, they're not like the rest. They once were, and always will be, the best.
Little kiss and fist pump!! So glad we have this duet. Even though Frank is 70+ years old he sounds just fine. Great song done beautifully by two of the greats. If it was remastered today as a single...I'd buy it...
Two of the most regonizable voices in the world....
Frank's humor is great
DVE VELIKE MUZIČKE ZVEZDE PREDIVNO IZVODE OVU DIVNU PESMU KOJU KRASE NJIHOVI SJAJNI GLASOVI.
A PEACE OF HEAVEN FOR EVER
Love how Frank always gave credit to the song writer and those who gave his songs notes on paper. He might be the one singing the song but he acknowledge others who had a hand in his songs.
Diese Souveränität,mit der diese zwei wundervollen Sänger aus der la main dieses Lied singen, nein, praesentieren ist bravouroes.Standing Ovation !💞💞💞
D'accordo
What a great appearance by these 2 superstars glad it is preserved for all to see
Wow! what a super combination of super voices. That’s wonderful songwriting.
It makes you wonder how good the Duets Albums would have been if they’d have been released 10 years earlier.
c'est dommage que les jeunes de mon âge ne connaissent pas Frank sinatra quel classe
Ses oeuvres en témoignent...et c'est une chance.
How does it feel listening to this song in 2019?? I for sure so so miss the good old times! Beautiful times and beautiful songs!!! We will never hear songs like this anymore!!!! Very very sad!!!! I am 53.
Put a lump in my throat. Two of my favorite singers
Immeasurable Sinatra. You make me cry dear Frank your voice comes to the Heart. You too Dionne Magnificent
oh my gosh. every time i see him it's like thrill for me. i can't help to think. i'll love you forever Frank wherever you are.
I never think Dionne is underrated.. everybody knows that she is one of the best an amazing talent.. Sinatra accepted her invitation to Solid gold tv show. and It proves how much she is good.. cuz Sinatra never duets with ordinary voices.. Frank n Dionne was close..
baronsnearls I agree. Dionne always was my absolute favorite female vocalist of all time. She was well known and appreciated throughout her career. Especially in the 60’s .
i so agree ,most entertainers would kill for her career, many hits and awards, well known across the globe. underrated she is not.
Highly well said.
Never underrated she is the best.
Two amazing talents...
I love this Song You and me by Frank it's a beautiful love song
Love ed. Ole. Blue. Eyes. My. Father. Grew. Up. With. Him. In. Hoboken. Nj. Wow. How. Great. Was. That
I love Frank and it gives me great joy to watch him sing!
How awesome seeing two fabulous, amazing superstars perfectly complementing each other's talent.
Que encontro maravilhoso de vozes. Amo Dionne Warwick e uma pena que o mestre da música americana já nos deixou a anos.
Yes Sinatra's tremolo....a heartbreaking song about perhaps our entire generation...there was an age when we recognized complementarity..now it's me me me....Dionne so glorious...yes she trained as a young poor girl 'who wanted to be an opera singer'...in a world where there was not one! Dreams and force of purpose...these are really great ones.....
In 1985 my hubby and I heard Peter Allen song this at a concert. We were in the beginning of an amicable divorce . This song was written by Peter Allen and about his wife Liza Minelli when they divorced. A real tear jerker.
What a talent !🤗🤗 wonderful singers !
You can see that frank is sad singing this song. No question . AMERICA. 9/23/2023. JO-ANN❤️🇱🇷. AVA???? My guess❤️
Frank Sinatra acknowledging our Peter Allan. Something an Aussie would barely think was possible not long before this time.
allymayful, my goodness what a lovely lyrics by Peter Allan...love Australian people...love Australia thanks God
Thanks Coari. What nationality are you?
I am australian, imagining like you!! but born in Argentina...but proud to be Australian..
Australia gave me many thing and I am grateful all the time! god bless you Allymayful
So lovely to hear from you Coari. So proud my country has made you welcome, and that you enjoy our music history. God Bless you too.
Frank Sinatra always acknowledge his song writer and who put the music together, those who played his music for him. That is the one thing i came to appreciate about him. 1st came this and then his ability to sing anything.
As a performer of a Frank Sinatra Tribute show, I have learned a lot about Mr. Sinatra's career and credits, but never knew he appeared on the Solid Gold TV series! (Good booking!) Really nice duet. Great to discover it.
Too bad he only released two albums during that decade: "She Shot Me Down" (1981) and "L.A. is My Lady" (1984). He recorded some song tracks for other albums but they were either never released or added to other compilations as bonus tracks later on.
He was not "booked." If you read Dionne's autobiography, she got him to appear. He (or his people) never spoke to anyone from the show. He promised Dionne he would do it, and he kept his word. He showed up (not one minute early) on recording day as promised, and they did the song. They often did "favors" for each other, but I am sure that he more than owed her by this point in their lives.
Loves these two terrific entertainers.....thanks for posting a great memory...
One of the best duets of all tine-simply sublime.
Sinatra had à great voice, for sure...but nobody compares to à diva like miss Dionne
Stunningly beautiful no question about it they are not like the rest they once were the best
I don't considered these two legends stars. They are both galaxies.
I cried...T_T. You and me were not like the rest, we once were the best, back when we were dumb, how did we became so smart? And learn to break each other's heart... T_T
I share your feelings.
DOIS CANTORES DE PESO JUNTOS. DUAS VOZES MARAVILHOSAS. UMA PERFEIÇÃO JUNTA PARA CANTAR CANÇÕES BELÍSSIMAS E ETERNAS. UMA DELÍCIA DE OUVIR E CURTIR SEMPRE.
Fantastic collaboration. Really NEEDS to be on a CD SOMEWHERE!!!
That was beautiful!!
That Lady could sing anything! They sound great together.
Now THATS what I call music!
I could sing this song....its just one of those tunes that rolls off your tongue....effortlessly
Frank Sinatra e Dionne Warwick : per sempre ❤❤❤❤❤
Such an unexpected pairing yet so beautiful together!
That was a brilliant idea to introduce an older artist, Frank Sinatra, who was 70 or 71 at the time, on a youth-oriented show. That was part of the reason why "Solid Gold" was such a popular show. There was a tribute to a lot of entertainers from the past in a 1985 Dionne Warwick version of "The Way We Were" on the "Solid Gold" show while photographs of famous celebrities from the past flashed on the screen. I could identify Charlie Chaplin, Humphrey Bogart, Mae West, Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn, Bob Hope and Bing Crosby, Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, and John Wayne, but have a hard time figuring out the others. That was a nice movie tribute song, but to us younger ones at the time, it made it a little hard to follow with no names on the screen, unless it turned up in the end credits. I had missed that and the Frank Sinatra episode originally.
Old Blue Eyes and the Chairman of the
Board, Frank, really did harmonize so well with Dionne and the kiss at the end and her reaction was so cute. I know that the "Solid Gold" show was on Saturdays and sometimes Sundays as well, but I often have wondered what kind of taping schedule they had, as in the day of the week that they taped and if it one show per taping day or more, as some syndicated shows currently do. I grew up in the inland part of the South Bay in Los Angeles County and regret not having been there for any of the tapings with the live studio audiences. That must have been a very special audience experience.
"Solid Gold" really put the A-list entertainers on camera and had A-list behind-the-scenes talent as well.
El mejor sin duda!!! El primerísimo y nadie es capaz de quitarte tu sitio!!
music and songs which can never created again . So sad. Different time, different people
That's the reason, I am doing my show; FRANK remembering the man, the music. Anyone who gave the world as much love and enjoyment as he did...he and his music should not be forgotten.
P.S. He happens to be singing with Whitney Houston's aunt, Dionne Warwick, and now that you've heard her sing, you know who Whitney listened to. Dionne Warwick was one of the greats.
Bob Anderson and your show was tremendous Bob. June at Detroit Opera House was a great night.
