I am poleaxed by the death of Terry Hall, he was the voice of our generation, standing stock still in the middle of the stage with his deadpan face while the crowd went wild for The Specials/FB3
This song is one of the best of the FB3 era, I can't get it out of my head.

RIP Terry. This song was my gateway to being introduced to The Specials and as such I'll always consider it one of the songs that let me know I was more into alternative/ska/punk than I could have imagined at the time. You will be greatly missed.

@@lennonmoir6531 Terry Hall's work (his recordings, his videos and his albums) are still with us and readily available. People in the future who are not yet born will discover Terry for the first time - and he will live anew. So, 'has' is very appropriate here, I think.
One wouldn't write: "Pope wrote an excellent line here." if one was writing an academic essay on Pope and his poetry. One would stick to the present tense: "Pope writes/has written..." , not the past tense.
Such a criminally underrated song on this side of the Atlantic, but I can't stop loving it.

Still love this and it still sounds as good in 2022 as when it played in 1982. I found the Fun Boy Three first LP when I was having a sort out in my box room, during lockdown 2020, ahhh the memories it brought back. I even wanted my hair style like his in 82 but the hairdresser at the time Pierre Alexander hair salon, Manchester, made a pig's ear of it. Thanks for your music Mr Hall, RIP, you was the spokesperson for my youth in the 70s/early 80s and a very talented musician.
Found ALL my vinyls. Bought a 2nd hand record player for £20 .
