When I was a child I used to get so tired of people talking about the "Good Ole Days" but this is real music. The music had a message and it was sung and performed with such feelings. Even though Brenda is no loner with us her music will live on forever. it's a shame how groups like hers got screwed by the record companies, managers and etc. I never thought I'd say it but I wish we could go back if for nothing more than the music. RIP and God bless Brenda and all those gone to be with our Lord!
Hear this song on the radio the other day & im hooked. Thanks for sharing this live video. Brenda & the Tabulation made this love song soooo good & sultry. They dont sing songs like this anymore. Songs that you can slow dance & hug on your dance partner in your arms instead of bend over twerking.
Brenda and her crew were incredible. I love the timecode running through the top of the video. Straight from the vault of the Hy Lit show WKBS-TV Philadelphia! Thanks for posting this
I remember when Brenda was first out front of her fathers band. Then when the right on the tip of my tongue came out. She had two girls sing with her. She was fantastic and I had a crush on her. I saw her in Brooklyn at the RKO Albee when I was in the 6th grade. I always felt her career should have gone further
IT'S TIME FOR UNSUNG TO DO THEIR STORY. LOOKING FOR HER LAST RECORDING "DON'T GIVE UP THE LOVE" RELEASED IN 87. IT WAS ON IT'S WAY UP! MYSELF K TERRY AND JASPER BRADLEY WERE THE WRITERS AND JIMMY HILL WAS THE PRODUCER.
omg! This is the song of all songs! "Turn my life all around...I can't seem to settle down.....oh baby...." Still loving my one and only after 20 years!!!! (what a touch from a little hand can do...)
thanks for posting this. this was one of those groups from the late 60's early 70's that we never got to see on tv, why I don't know. this woman was fantastic...
I hope and pray that the Hy-Lit show can be licensed into an official video dvd so that all can purchase and enjoy these classic soul artists in their prime!
Sang this song in talent show in 1968, our group was called "Soul On Ice". We brought the house down, our lead singer was so good that she never even practice with us. We had our harmonies and steps down pat as well...
What distinguished musical artists of the past was that the lyrics were about conveying ones feelings of love or heartbreak. An example would be Jerry Butler on his classic For Your Precious Love or Hello Stranger by Barbara Lewis. No mistaking what they were singing about. Lots of great music from current artists that could be termed Neo Soul. Unfortunately not enough radio stations play their music.
Wow didn't know se had passed. sorryto hear that. She went to Charles Drew high, we used to go by there to try to go see her....RIP....a rare gem of a person and song. Thanks for shring that and thanks to aintnobigthing for the clip.
i love this song, i can sing this song, words from words, my aunt used to sing this song all the time, when i was a little girl, she could sing, i never seen them sing or perform before,, but i hear this song all the time on her record player.
I like her voice also, but I bought the CD and played the whole thing and I heard And My Heart Samg Tra la LA and I started liking this song ever since the first time I heard it. Now it's my favorite by them.
yeah, man......blue lights, red lights, pay parties, bumping into the record player near the end of the song so it would go back a lil bit and get a lil more grind out of that three minute record.....I was a master at doing that!
This from the old HY LIT show out of Philly. He has loads of old school groups, especially outta Philly in his archives.I'd be willing to pay to see more of these.
For 40 years I thought this was a girl group. The two main songs by them that I liked were Dry Your Eyes and Right On The Tip Of My Tongue. Both of them have female background singers helping out and you can't hear the guys at all. She was a great singer.
oldschoolsinger This group scored many hit records throughout their illustrious career. The harmonies on all their albums were perfect. Great musical arrangements as well. One of the many talented groups to emerge as part of the legendary Philly Sound.

Does anyone know what happened to her daughter? We saw an oldie concert in LA and it was Brendas daughter singing all her moms jams , so dam bad , id see her again if she toured, let me know.
Brenda has the most wonderful high pitched voice in music, love her talent always.
One of the most underrated soul groups and Brenda had a sweet voice like no other.

Yes, Brenda was fine, and could sing her behind off!
So true Tyrone. You don't hear about Brenda and the Tabulations as you do other female with male backup groups.
Lets keep it going.
I am going to one of the music greats in my city of Nashville and turn him on to forgotten groups for his venue.
