I had it on the channel in the Video titled B Aug's Blinds. It was the first glass that made me say; "I don't know what this is, but it ain't for me". 🤣🤣🤣🥃

This was a great bust bourbon episode! I've tried the sweet heat and my first time I didn't care for it because (just like you) I love me some proof!!!! the second time I went into it with the mindset that I know this is just over 90 proof so I have to judge it upon that and that only.( SN this year Weller 12 batch at 90 proof was shockingly good)I can sip sweet wheat all day with nothing else but I agree with you. Not for me. The bernheim, I'm looking forward to that. Not many barrel proof wheat whiskies out there accessible. The journeyman corsets whips and whiskey was a good cask strength wheat whiskey. #BourbonBrothers #BourbonTwins 🥃
I agree with 90 proofers that you almost have to tell yourself, OK, just sip it, don't expect anything amazing to happen. 😆 Then, when it does, just be thankful. I do remember liking Weller 12 when i did the review, and I would buy them all day at retail! I don't think you'll be disappointed with Bernheim at all. I really enjoyed the A batch. 🥃 #BourbonBrothers #BourbonTwins
Another great video my man! I avoided all these bottles minus the 1792 sweet wheat. I couldn't say no when I crossed it at a bottle drop last month for $34. I haven't opened it yet so I can't say what I think of it. My hope are not to high lol.
Great episode Myron. Pretty much agree with you. The 1792 Sweet Wheat is not bad; I was just expecting more and was disappointed. The 2XO American Oak is okay for what it is…a lower priced offering. The only one I disagree with you on is the Bernheim BP. I have the A223 and B923 and like them both for a high proof wheat whiskey. 🥃
Absolutely love the video Myron!! No one has the same palate and absolutely no hate. I tend to like the 1792 Sweet Wheat more than most. I hope you have an amazing day!! Cheers!!🥃
You are one of the lucky few. I remember getting one way back in the day, right off the shelf. I didn't think it was special back then. But everyone losing their marbles for it here recently made me 2nd guess myself. I was right the first damn time. 🤣🤣🤣 🥃
It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either IMO. I think at $30, it would have been a better pour. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to taste it before buying it. 🥃
Agreed on everything. I had high hopes for the McKenzie after loving Pursuit United, but it didn’t work for me. I’m hearing chatter of the Sagamore 8 Year drop in your area. I hear it’s stellar but a bit of a drive for me to hunt it.
Great Job on another awesome video. Those are several bottles I personally have not seen here in Michigan. I was on the Hunt for the 1792 Sweet Wheat. I really like my Wheaters. The ETL, I agree it’s a Totally Hyped up bottle and would never pay over 100 for one! I see them around me for 400 all the time, not sure why anyone would pay that much for bottle that has an MSRP of around 40ish. I really enjoy your views on bottles.
Wow, that's news to me. I didn't know that moved rickouses. I don't know much about them at all, to be honest. It would be interesting to find an old bottle and compare the two. Thanks for the info. 🥃
If you find an older Bottle of High West rendezvous (2017 or older) with the older label. Get that one. It’s apparently supposed to have 15 year old Barton in it blended with 6 year MGP. I’ve got one & It’s amazing
Would like to see a shootout with high proofers(120ish+) that are often on shelf under $75. 1792 FP, JDSBBP, Larceny BP, Knob Creek 9yr SB,WT Rare Breed, etc.
I’ve been lucky so far the new bottles I have picked up are all good. Your palate will change it just happens. The Fomo aspect is driving many picks for people I’m not a BT fan boy and I don’t buy whiskey because of what the bottle looks like. I’m a fan of George Dickle been drinking it for over 40 years and the hate it receives is crazy but that’s how it works in this industry. I just saw a review on the McKenzie and they say it’s a really good bottle so again palate’s are certainly different. Hope your bottle choices improve. Enjoy!!
Thankfully, I've picked up more good bottles than bad. 😆 I love the Dickel 13 BiB, but haven't had much luck with anything else from GD. The 8 yr Bourbon just wasn't for me. 🥃
I bought it around May or June of 2023 with the Yellowstone SiM. I never did a review of it b/c it was so bland. After opening the answer key and knowing what I was drinking, the samples you sent were much better. 🥃
@@NoBody-jm3qt Wathen's. No personal experience, but I've been told that it's pretty much the same. There's a back story, supposedly. I see it way more often and cheaper than what I paid and what I see it for. 🥃
I traded my Rendezvous Rye for a Eagle Rare. Lol. Elmer is terrible. Sweet Wheat is not good. And I didn't think Bernheim was great. Cream of Kentucky is for old Fashioneds. Cheers!
Either we have twin palates, or these bottles are just that bad! the cream of kentucky bib rye would have been a huge disappointment, but we bought it with a bunch of other bottles, and somehow, they put it in the bag without ringing it up! but its a bad one... the sweet wheat we have had for a couple years, amd its still only had 2 or 3 pours out of it. i dont understand the hype on that one. the 2xo is ok, but over priced. the rocktown we had was a wheater, and it was a youthful grassy makers knockoff. my thoughts on etl are well known. that bottle is garbage - even if you can fi d it for 40 bucks, its a pass. and the 923 bernheim was hot trash. the rendezvous rye used to be aged mgp. over the years, they have been phasing out the mgp and replacing it with their own younger distillate - but keeping the price high. not worth the money anymore.
Great video man! I was laughing so much, I love the honesty and saying how you really feel. #keepgrinding 🥃
Thanks! Gotta keep it real! 😆🥃
That Starlight Cigar batch is a unique and tasty pour.
I had it on the channel in the Video titled B Aug's Blinds. It was the first glass that made me say; "I don't know what this is, but it ain't for me". 🤣🤣🤣🥃
To each their own for sure but I'm learning that you and I have a different palete because I really enjoy Starlight Carl as well as McKenzie.

With you on the Bernheim BP. Also have never had any Starlight stuff that I thought was anything special.
I loved A223, but B923 was a different story! 🥃
Great video Myron! I agree with some of these for sure. Cheers bro 🥃
Thanks Carlos! 🥃

Thanks, Sean! I haven't received nearly the amount of pushback that I thought I would for that bottle. 😆 Hopefully, it opens up for me someday. 🥃
I feel the same on all those bottles, don’t understand Elmer T Lee, but I only paid 34 for mine. It’s a 34 dollar bottle

Interesting list! Was sad to hear you didn't enjoy the 2XO American Oak sample. I think it's a good pour 😆.

@@BourbonDrop I would agree
From my experience with Starlight, everything is high-quality, but only ones that really hit are from the old rickhouse

That makes sense. The new stuff seems to be very blah, just like you called. I haven’t even bothered with trying it since 2020.
Elmer T Lee is the blandest whisky I’ve ever had.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🥃
I could not catch what you suggested in place of the Elmer@@BourbonDrop

It depends on whether I'm paying or not 🤣🤣🤣 🥃
Anytime I hear the word "grainy" I'm out. That's one note i don't appreciate. Usually indicates immature product.

1792 not particularly nice at all, very dry and nutty
