You guys are absolutely crazy. What has happened to your pallets? JD Double Barrelled is one of the best whiskies I have ever tasted! Also, i have NEVER been disappointed in a Stagg.
I waited hours outside my VA ABC for the drop. Was first in line! Picked up the Old Fitz 10 year, woo hoo. Took her home and cracked it with buddies. That was a long wait for a handsome decanter!
@bourbonkingdom no you can both be right I just never even seen a Remus I'm glad to know they aren't as good as earlier batches but I've never even seen one lol same w alot of these batches I've been collecting and drinking good bourbon fpr the better part of the last 10 years but I just don't see half of these releases just for my first old Carter this year still haven't seen 4 gate Fer sale lol its just my market
I'm so happy you put Ben holiday on this list! I really really didn't like it and all whiskey tubers are giving it rave reviews! I thought my picker was just broken! Thank you for validating that!
Funny you say the Stagg 23B drinks hot. I've only had 1 pour out of mine so far as a total blind picked from the shelf by my partner. I thought it drank complex but pegged the proof somewhere around 110. I was shocked at the bottle reveal. I think my guess was Hardin's Creek Jacob's Well. Definitely tasted a bit off profile to me but not in a bad way. Also, try the Ben Holladay Soft Red Wheat Rickhouse proof. I've just had an in-store sample so far but damn if it wasn't tasty. Excited to open the bottle.
I agree on the Ben Holladay. It is just ok. I disagree on the JD Twice Barreled. I just tried it again to make sure I am not crazy. Mine is burnt campfire, little marshmallow and cinnamon. But its all good. Everyone has their own palate. For MGP this year I enjoyed the Pinhook 8 and and Penelope 9. I passed on the Remus Repeal Reserve this year because of last years was such a disappointment. Keep up the good content.
I agree with Ben Holladay, got to try it on new years and it came off as a really hot/younger Buffalo Trace product. I see the potential but they need to tinker with it.
I went back and tried the heritage rye to see if mine turned too and y’all are absolutely right. So disappointing because it was actually pretty tasty at first. The spirit on it seemed young to me though
It would be interesting to know the environmental factors surrounding the really good bottles vs less stellar (Remus for example). Was it warmer, cooler during that aging for example. I bet someone knows the information
2024 I will not be picking up any allocation liquor stores are just going completely Bonkers with the price so I will just be picking up the Usual Suspects along with store picks
Can you do me a favor and say the name of the bottles. If you rewatch this you never say the words Remuse repeal VII. You says Stagg in the last minute
I love the honesty and not protecting the "sacred cow" bottles or distilleries. Even if I don't agree with you two 100% on your choices, you didn't hold back and try to be wishy-washy in order to not offend a distillery. That's what keeps me coming back!
I'm on the opposite end for Ben Holladay. Love it. Just goes to show how everyone's pallets can differ.
You guys are absolutely crazy. What has happened to your pallets?
JD Double Barrelled is one of the best whiskies I have ever tasted!
Also, i have NEVER been disappointed in a Stagg.
Two of my favorite bottles this year, were two of your worst - JD twice-barreled rye and the Heaven Hill 20-year. 🤷🏻♂️
I love this twist on the top lists of the year

at the end of the day, 99% of viewers would be happy for just the chance to purchase any of these bottles 😅
Lol truthhh
@bryanbarrett732 I don't disagree. But still doesn't change if they are good or not.
Well …..
Seriously
Yellowstone single malt is the only bottle I have drain poured. Bottle I had contained a melon-like off note
Thanks for the tip on Holladay. You're possibly the only channel saying it's disappointing. Appreciate the honesty.
You can send me that Heaven Hill 20 year 🌽. It is a hitter for my palate.
Should just be the most disappointing because worst would be pot still and daringer
Stagg batch 23 C also drinks hot hotter then the 23b can’t wait too see that review
You just saved a lot of people a lot of money (assuming some of us are fortunate enough to even find some of these bottles). Great review.
I haven’t had the regular but the Ben holiday sweet red wheat is pretty good
I'm so happy you put Ben holiday on this list! I really really didn't like it and all whiskey tubers are giving it rave reviews! I thought my picker was just broken! Thank you for validating that!
Wow .. CLICKBait Queens 💁🏼😊😊

I got a 23b and that bee-outch is hot!

Man I LOVE my JD Twice Barreled Rye!
But who knows, maybe we need to look at the laser codes 😜
O no not the laser code lol.
For someone who has never had Remus v Remus VI is good
I agree with Ben Holladay, got to try it on new years and it came off as a really hot/younger Buffalo Trace product. I see the potential but they need to tinker with it.
Totally agree
I think the Redwood Empire single malt is a bottle you might say I can enjoy it
As good as the JD SBBP Rye for 70 is, no way id spend the money on that 2023 release rye.
I went back and tried the heritage rye to see if mine turned too and y’all are absolutely right. So disappointing because it was actually pretty tasty at first. The spirit on it seemed young to me though
Hit me up if you need to get rid of the OF 10. I like it a lot. Also, keep doing what you’re doing. Love the reviews.
I’m going to have to disagree on Ben Holladay. I’m a huge fan of all 4 releases I’ve tried. 🤷♂️
Ben Holliday has a 7 year age statement on bottles around here now

Currently trading to get Stagg. Would you grab B16 or B23C?
Not had 23c yet
I’d like to know what these dudes like. These bottles are what everyone else in the country is looking for.
Our top 20 comes out next week.
Damn our palette’s are not the same at all
Ummm jus curious but being Soa’s that being said smh how many times this folds pic them 💁♂️🙇♀️💁♂️💁♂️💁♂️
25th Anniversary…..bourbon trail. Where to go? Where to stay?
That is a very loaded question.
Can you do me a favor and say the name of the bottles. If you rewatch this you never say the words Remuse repeal VII. You says Stagg in the last minute
Agree in Holladay BiB. To grainy!!!!
KC 18 Batch 2 was pretty disappointing for me

I also enjoy the honesty…especially the Ben Holladay…way over hyped and borderline bad.
This can get confusing. Fred minnick ranked Stagg 23b #11 on his top 100 of 2023 and you guys don’t like it? Must be a palate thing.
Ben Holiday is inferior Early Times BIB. Overpriced!
ben holladay...I don't get the people who like it
.
Y'all just wanting some heat on this one.
Anyone want to trade me out of the Stagg 23B I just bought? It's unopened!!
What do your husbands think of Stagg 23B?
They don't enjoy it as much as your wife enjoys my 23D cheers 🍻.
Clean comeback 😂😂😂
Made an account just so i could like this😂 ill sub too!
@@bourbonkingdom Oh snap! LMAO!🥃✌️
I bet that's the last time you have a comment left from that person lol
👍👍👍
Maybe you should stick to something like Jim Beam
We do enjoy Jim Beam
