They done a great job getting the Stout to lead the charge but not over do it. Feels blasphemous praising such a bargain bottle from a mainstream distillery 🤣
@@JeffWhisky not exactly, but I get a load of chocolate from Aberlour 12 (especially the second half of the bottle after it oxidized) and the latest GlenAllachie 10 CS and 12, all three more expensive than your already favorite, so probably not much help 😛😛
Nice one dude! I love Jameson. I actually prefer Jameson to any Red Breast or Spot whiskies. The Stout and Black Barrel are my favourites out of the core range. The IPA goes really well with some ice and lemon in the summer as well. Cheers and on to the next one 🥃
Thanks Jeff. I've looked at this bottle and thought why stout, that's so wrong and bypassed it. Took your advice and bought a bottle for my bday. $62 in Oz, such an easy drinking whiskey, will buy another bottle and recommend to my brother in UK. Really enjoyed.your aqvavitea show you smashed/slapped it😃
Really glad to hear you was pleased with it! Won't blow your mind but right now I can't think of a better affordable sweet sipper. It is often one I grab when editing. Cheers for the support! Slap on!
Cheers Pieter and apologies for the delay in responding, UA-cam doesn't seem to like me at the moment I really want to revisit the Signet and make sure it lives up to my memories!
Entertaining and enjoyable, Mr. Slapper. Not the biggest fan myself, but that's fine as you seem to buy the whole bunch. Great guest appearance by Molly! Slàinte mhath
A really great whiskey Jeff! I grabbed it from Amazon the day this came out and now had 3 glasses of it. Soooo chocolatey and easy like a sunday morning.
No, don't backtrack on the score, Jeff. This is a fine sip, price-relative. I've always liked it. Prefer it to the IPA bottling. Poor man's Glenmo Signet indeed. 6/6 Jeffs for the editing, cobber.
It seems to be too easily done these days, time is no longer my friend 😪I did recently get slapped by Orchard House in the Summer video so at least they got a bit of revenge! Cheers Al!
Yeah I like this one a lot, Jeff, and use it on ice on a regular basis...I agree with the fact that the stout finish is kinda mimicking a chocolate malt like the one which is used in the Signet, for instance...but of course it hasn't got its depth, etc...I've bought the IPA Edition last year & liked the first pours of it, but not sure I found the time to compare the 2 on video, but will do some day...I've for now just reviewed (in 21 mn, hourray lol) the Stout one on video.... All that said, I will never say on my side that it's the best Jameson I've tried, as there are some great ones especially in limited releases of the 12 yo for instance like the one I have (a French exclusive storepick for "you know who", often the same shop...) & some batches of the old 18 yo. Cheers !
Honestly... The Stout cask is the only Irish on my re-purchase list with Teeling single malt and Powers Gold a close second. I didn't enjoy Redbreast 12 along with the Connemara peated.... Admittedly I haven't tried others like Green spot etc but at their prices ... i won't. The Stout cask is great value. AL
Cheers Allan! It really is a repurchase bottle and so is Powers. I personally have found Green Spot to be underwhelming for the cost but if you can try before you buy!
I had to dig out my notes and completely agree with you. I scribbled: Chocolate, sugar mice, pineapple jelly on the nose and then blend butter, banana and overwatered hot choc. Have you tried other stout casks?
Hi Buddy Jeff Whisky 🥃. Good too see you again and I have to try this Jameson Caskmates Stout Edition. I have drink regular Jameson 🥃 Nice. Snalth math 🥂
Cheers Cezary! This certainly is a step up from the regular Jameson, look forward to hearing your thoughts on it when you try the Stout edition. Cheers.
Wait till the lads down the park see this! I'll be the talk of the pack!! Woof!!
Cheers for the boops Molly!
In fairness, this is a superb bottle for the price. The stout really shines through
They done a great job getting the Stout to lead the charge but not over do it. Feels blasphemous praising such a bargain bottle from a mainstream distillery 🤣
The stout caskmates is such an easy drinker, works well in things like Irish coffees, and most importantly is easy on the wallet!
I am yet to try an Irish Coffee, but I am only now starting to dip my toe into the world of coffee, always been a tea man. Cheers!
There's nothing shameful about spending as little as possible buying your favourite whiskey.
100% right! While I love to support local independent shops you just can't argue with the price! Cheers for watching 👋🥃
@@JeffWhisky Cheers back to you, Jeff!

Another great vid. Will add to the 'buy for father in law' list so I can try it when I'm round his
Cheers Duncan! That is a great way to try it, think it is currently sat at £23 but sure it will drop again... I hope.
This Jameson is my most favourite from the all range... Thanks for nice slap review Jeff...🥃
Cheers Wlad, it seems this is a real crowd pleaser! Now I got to try the IPA Caskmates.
Brilliant work going back and re-reviewing an old favorite. 👏👏👏
Cheers for watching! It certainly is a real favourite. Any similar recommendations?

@@murduk88 I don't think I have yet had the Aberlour 12, that is on the watch list now! Even if I have to keep the lid off for a few days!

Think Jameson is underrated by whisky enthusiasts due to how mainstream it is. Black Barrel cask strength is on my hitlist! Cheers
Just bought 4 bottles of dewars. Absolutely my favourite
OooH what Dewars? Not really bottles I have explored yet. Cheers
Great edit once again 🤣 Phwoooohhhhaaah
Thanks Tim, will be honest was a bit of a rush getting this one ready so wasn't sure if it was quite up to scratch!

I had both this one and the Signet a long time ago. I like the comparison, I remember the choc notes on both… maybe time to revisit this one… 🎉

What about a Jameson in a red wine finish? Surely that will be your jam? Cheers for watching 🥃👋

10-11 days with no whiskey! WTF? Methinks we need to change things up and get the bottles to slap you😉 It is a tasty pour. Cheers Jeff.

Once I discovered this I never returned to standard Jamesons! More place should stock it.
100% this. I have quite a soft spot for "budget" whiskey and this beats Jameson for a few quid more.

Nice on Jeff.

Do u know what I almost fell off my seat when you pulled out the Jameson Stout Edition, I was the same love it 🥃
Always great to see another man of taste! Cheers for watching.
Fice times! I've got a bottle of the Jameson black barrel 50% abv - nay bad!
I like the standard Black Barrel but yet to try the higher proof version, I have heard some pretty solid things on it! Cheers for watching Al!

How does it compare to the Teeling Stout Cask? I found the Teeling nice on the nose, but a little forgetable otherwise

@JeffWhisky just that one, was tempted with the Hinch version after WhiskeyAls review but difficult to get hold of!
