Member breakdown, from left to right (most of the time): Moonbyul: the rapper. She writes all her own rap verses, and also has a beautiful smooth lower voice (still capable of hitting high notes, but not nearly as strong of a belter as the others). She was basically forced into rapping, and lost a lot of confidence in her singing until recently. She embraces an androgynous image and has huge swag when she wants. Solar: the leader of the group, and more or less main vocalist. One of the two members who belts in this. She runs a UA-cam channel on the side. The one with the baby face :) Wheein: the other one who trades belts. She sometimes goes underappreciated. She has the most "standard" voice for kpop, meaning that in comparison to the other 3 members her voice doesn't really stand out, but still contributes a ton to their sound. Her and Solar work very well as a vocal backbone for the group. Shes also the best dancer of the group. Hwasa: the one who opened the song. She has an extremely distinctive vocal timbre. Very soulful, often with a dark tone, and capable of using some rasp to great effect. Shes also controversial for her looks (the darker features, and... well thighs and ass, are not how kpop singers typically look) and shes developed a habit of flaunting her body and provoking the internet and media with her massive attitude on stage.

This is on a contest show called Immortal Songs. The singers are all professionals, and the idea is that each episode has a theme, or a specific composer that the songs are from. It's both a way to honor classic songs/composers as well as give the artists more air time. This was early on in mamamoo's career, and was seen as a way to showcase their vocal prowess. From the beginning, the members had been told that they did not have the looks that other groups did, and as such must rely on showcasing their talent if they want to get anyone's attention. Mamamoo has always been a bit different from traditional kpop girl groups, considering several of their early singles had a swing/50s retro inspired feel to them.
Kpop is just one genre of idol music for younger generation in Korea. This program 'immortal songs' is rather for much larger audience in general in Korea.
I'm not surprised a lot of reactor missed that ending part. And yes, Mamamoo's immortal songs performance are great. I wish you can do more of their performance. 👏👏👏
This is why I love it when kpop groups do covers of western songs. Usually, because of the performance element to most kpop, groups don’t get as much of a chance to showcase a variety of vocals. They generally just sing with a ballad voice, more powerful and fun voice and the main high note at the climax of the song. However, with a song like this, it’s really nice to see the more delicate and emotional singing at the beginning and the beautiful layering of powerful harmonies towards the end. It was just stunning.
All 4 members can sign, dance, rap, composed..... They are the medley QUEENS and also they always sing live.... This performance is just in their rookie days....

Watch anything Mamamoo and as others say especially if you wanna fall in love instantly then go for their immortals songs medley :) And as you are into the vocals then any of their live performences are incredible. They have a lot of songs from the immortals competition (believe it is 13(believe they won 3 times)) and then they have a few from Queendoms (I miss you is amazing) There are no great videos from their four seasons concerts (there are spring/summer and fall/winter) but even in a slightly worse quality they are amazing. All girls did a solo concert within the concert in both the s/s and the f/w concert :) And if you want then there is way more than just live stuff :) Almost all of their own songs have made my playlist. Their music videos and their versatility in the music they make are great!! Oh and to make it even better. All of the girls are doing their own solo stuff on the side ;) All of their solo stuff are amazing and stands on its own as well. However, saying you were standing because you still have back issues, you looked very uncomfortable to say the least. Thank you for the video. The change was cool and the slow part in the beginning sounded quite fascinating. I love whispered singing. But during the second part of that before the change it sounded too fixed, it didn't sound natural like the very beginning. The combination of the voices was outstanding and great harmonies. I enjoyed it because it had that older type sound as far as singing goes. You're right too when pointing out that too much moving around affects the singing.
