I love Lara ❤❤❤ kisses from Italy 😘😘😘
Love your reviews Nick. Can I make a suggestion to react to Diana Navarro's el perdón.
I think it ticks all the boxes performance wise and you'll be very moved by it.
In this version she is saying how she is absorbing the essence of adagio she has the gift and ability to become the song emotionally.
She and Celine landed on the American scene at the same time. Celine's promotional team (her husband) created a lot of pressure to force Lara to go pop. She was dropped from the big record company because she wanted to be Lara and sing her music. The commander it clear and dragged the press in to say that Lara was trying to copy Celine. Lara decided that she had the rest of the world to sing for and conquered Europe and even the USSR. You may thank Rene Angelil, his money and his team for never hearing of Lara before. Lara has the good grace to live her life and talent in honesty and love.
Yes! And it has been covered recently in the news, all over Europe, because it finally got public! Such a shame…
Yeah but in the end it's in the past and I think Lara had an amazing career anyway
What she produced in Europe with the people she worked with was great, the album with Igor, the double album, the acoustic intimate shows, we can be grateful we have all of that
the fact that Celine is not american singeress but actualy she is Candian , she wined Eurovision in 1988 representing Switzerland
@ Oh well she sold between 20-30 M records in Europe.... USA is not EVERYTHING.
True artists, as Lara, don't strive for widespread recognition by the masses: it's depth that matters to them, not width.
Lara herself told this: "you have to master the technique... to finally forget about it and focus your mind on emotions and storytelling"
I recommend you You’re Not From Here from the same concert. Her breath control is INSANE
I've just decided that "the next Lara Fabian song is my favorite song"
Lara The best ❤❤❤❤
Lara is the only vocalist who pulls you in and takes you on an emotional journey. She sings from her soul and directly into yours.
Love love love your reactions to Lara. She’s unbelievable. Please keep reacting to her ❤
Adagio é una parola italiana che significa con calma, lentamente, senza fretta. Non credo che si riferisca al ritmo. Love from italy 🇮🇹♥️
She is absolute perfection…every facet of her talent throws her artistry out like a light show.
I also love that for the last Adagio, she went ooooADAGIO to make it sound rounder, instead of piercing ADAGIOooooo . And that last breath was a super suspenseful moment, never done before. Worth to mention
Great reaction! Lara is so authentic because she is connected to every word of the songs she sings. For the good reason that she writes 90% of her own lyrics, and Adagio is one of them. 😊
Vive les grandes voix québécoises!
Lara's exceptional performative talent isn't unsung: it's her hallmark
Lara is siren. She beguiles you, holds you spellbound. There is a natural and incredible sensuality in both her voice and her delivery which makes one not only hear, but truly feel it. Magnificent.
So interesting, thank your for the Queen Lara ❤
🇨🇦 Eric, you are needed here ! This reactor needs to know ! 🇨🇦
I can't wait for that and other Lara's reaction, you can looking for "En Toute Intimitè" Concert, only Lara voice, piano and in some songs string.
Hope some of the patreons recommend that lol
We are "Angels" (Lara’s fans) and we love all your Lara’s reactions because you are very honest and because of course you REALLY now about singing...Thank my friend NICK!!😊😊
You have opened up a huge Rabbit Hole. If not the best, one of the world's top Female singers, artists, performers, and storytellers. Enjoy, You will have an amazing journey. Lara is a Belgian Canadian singer-writer You have witnessed but a small sliver of her talent. Her life story is something very special, unique, and humble. Love from Montreal, Canada
Lara "the ring" Fabian, the queen, the goddess, the Angel.... I don't have enought words to describe her..
Listening her singing is like a soul to soul direct connection..
Lara Fabian is nothing less than wonderful...amazing...stunning...The story about her and Sony is well known..I'm sure somebody will fill you in. Thank you for reacting to this gem.
Thank you for reacting again to Lara Fabian. Please react also to Caruso from the same concert.
Lara Fabian & Celine Dion
Emotions, Heart, Joy, Love, Loss, Pain, Passion, and Soul performances, a pure cocktail of Emotions .
LOVE you Two
Phenomenal Artists
🙏🕯️🕊️♥️🌹🥇🔥🙏
Lara has a full, powerful and grand voice. It's magnificent.
My 2 coppers: Adagio in this case comes from what can be the slow, drawn out process of finding that other person, your soul mate. This can take some people a lifetime. Others are much more fortunate.
so beautiful, according to me Lara and Floor Jansen are the greatest emotional singers on this earth. You should also listen to Floor's Adagio, which she recorded in her studio during covid time, same song but performed in a different way.🤟🏻🤟🏻🎶🎶
Get to ears tested. Floor cover is absolutely awful.
Floor's cover is fantastic. It was recorded during the pandemic in her home studio. Definitely check it out.
You really got Lara. She’s an emotion builder… She never “oversings”, she gives the song exactly what it needs. She never uses a song to show off her vocals, she uses her stunning voice and whole body as instruments to serve the song. And that’s what makes her different. Zero ego. Yes, she can certainly belt out loud, but no one sings so beautifully controlled and softly as her. 🤎👸🏼🤎
🇨🇦 Well put, and I agree ! 🇨🇦
She has so many great performances... Everything about her is classy.
I'm glad you checked out this version, for me this is the gold standard, even though she always sings it well this one is incredible as is all this concert
I do agree with what you say in the end about her career, whichever the reasons were for her to not became bigger specially in USA I think we have to embrace what she did become, and believe me she did a lot, has a lot of fans and there's so much material from her in UA-cam to enjoy
I do feel sorry for some pretty hard times she passed around the early 2000s because of this matter but it turned out well in the end
Lara is singing TO us and not AT us. That's her magic❤and what pulls this string to the heart as you said
Exactly, and that is why her life performances are very unique and much more lively and vibrant.
Love your Lara reactions. Already waiting for the next. hahaha
👉 For non musicians: The language of music is Italian. Adagio is an Italian word and is used in music to denote tempo, meaning: 'calm', 'slow'. In this song, adagio roughly means: If it is to be, then it will be.
'Adagio in g minor' - today, known as one of the most popular compositions of classical music; composed of alleged fragments of Tomaso Albinoni's; in 1958, joined together by Remo Giazotto (* 4. Sept. 1910; † 26. Aug. 1998 - Italian musicologist, music critic, and composer). Musicologists are still debating whether or not it is based on fragments by Albinoni.
Camilo Sesto wrote 1985 lyrics in Spanish to this piece. Later, Lara Fabian wrote the lyrics in Italian and English. Composers Rick Allison, Dave Pickell and Lara Fabian arranged the piece into a pop song. Since then, this song has been part of Lara Fabian's repertoire.
Lara is a great role model for Dimash. Even as a child Dimash wanted to be on stage with Igor Krutoy and Lara Fabian one day ... and for Dimash the dream came true of the 65th birthday of Igor Krutoy in 2019.
* They sang: 'Ti Amo Cosi / I Love You So' - ua-cam.com/video/XaQFfqC3lnU/v-deo.html
* Dimash also sang Adagio at the Singer competition 2017 - ua-cam.com/video/m41Kafa14ro/v-deo.html
i am belgian, and what i have noticed for years, is that everything in america has to be a competition and often quantity goes over quality. Here in europe we enjoy and appreciate our artists and it doesn't always have to be a competition. Just look at programs like de beste zangers in Nederland and Liefde voor muziek in belgie, the titles say enough.🤟🏻🤟🏻🎶🎶
agreed 100%
Lara Fabian, a singer with a very beautiful, very strong but always velvety vouce in al her 4.2 octaves range ...
An endless breath controle, clear singing, streat singing no vibration, emotional and expressieve performances .
The voices of Lara and Celine are very simular, but i like the voice of Lara much more ..
In terms of voice and singing ability, Lara Fabian is placed on the same level as Celine Dion, Whitney Houston and Maraih Carey
In 1988, at the european song contest on Dublin, Lara represented Luxembourg and Celine represented (as NON-European!!!) Switzerland ... There Lara was fourth and Celine won the competition with a more rhythmic song.
When Lara wanted to break through in America, the team behind Celine Dion did everything to prevent that ... They were with the same record company Sony ... That's why Lara broke with Sony.
Celine, just like Withny Houston, only became really famous worldwide with the thema songs from the films Titanic and the Body Guard .... Lara doesn't have that and Lara didn't have the best songwriters and the best managers like Celine ..
Lara concentrated on French-language songs and countries and is also very well-known and loved in Europe, Basil, east Europ and even in Russia .
Lara Fabian isn't just a singer, she's stepped out of her comfort zone throughout her career, moving into every musical style and always putting her own stamp on it.
Unlike other vocalists who have not been so bold.
I should add that Lara has more than participated in the creation of her songs, being an accomplished musician and composer.
I am looking forward for this, loved your reactions to Lara! She is divine! Greetings from Greece! 🇬🇷🌹
She is just like a angel lara fabian helped me a lot jn my life where come from a small island curacao🇨🇼and very difficult but every time i put her music from a small kid and i felt very relaxed🙏🙏🙏🇨🇼🇨🇼🇨🇼❤️❤️❤️😘
Next please react to/ review her singing "Caruso". This song is in Italian - the language of her mum and grandma - and as she said is nearest to her heart. That performance is just 'stunning' 🙌
Thank you Nick for coming back to our Queen Lara. I loved all of your comments and thoughts on the future of an artist. Eric (Sicard) is the best placed and patient to explain to you the meaning of the song and Lara's interrupted journey in the United States. In any case, in a documentary, she simply said "that it was the rule of the game". I have not known Lara since her participation in 1988 in the Eurovision contest where she came 4th while being almost unknown, won that year by Céline with a super catchy song and her talent of course. Lara's song was an intimate song and rather an author's song as they say in France, to say that the words are more important than the music. Lara had impressed despite everything with her voice but I remember that Céline arrived at this contest already haloed and recognized because her future husband, the greatest discoverer and producer in Canada, had been doing very good work for several years to impose Céline as a Great! The media only talked about Celine several weeks before the contest, she was already arriving as almost the future winner which proves that René Angelil was doing a lot of marketing work. Since then I have always followed Lara's career, except during her Russian period where she was a little forgotten in Western Europe. So I can say that I have been listening to Lara since this famous contest, although she started singing well before, especially in Belgium.
Lara omg😊❤
Felicidades Gran reacio'n..quizas puedas también reaccionar a una presentación actual de esta tremenda voz...."si tu m'aime".....se luce.....
Because her tones are so beautiful and she colours every note.
Thank's à lot for your react about Lara ❤❤❤🫂🫂🫂
Ciao e tanti saluti.
She is sublime! ❤
This version turns me into one big goosebump every time I hear it.
Excellent reaction Nick !!! I enjoy your comments and analysis of Lara’s amazing vocal and performance.
It takes the heart and the musical knowledge of a true artist to give a worthy reaction to such a masterpiece, and your reaction was perfectly in tune with Lara's performance, in my opinion. Well done, Nick, and thank you. 🫡
I needed to hear this today. It's one of those, everything is going just slightly wrong days. Nothing tragic, just terribly annoying. Hearing this wonderful voice put me in a much better mood. I have noticed that most singers are better able to convey emotion as they become a bit older. And, I think a good singer does grow with age and experience. Most seem to be able to convey emotion much better, and in a more subtle way. I'm not experienced enough in listening to Lara to know if this is the case with her, but I have noticed that she does convey that emotion in a way that totally makes sense in the context and timing of the song. She also builds a song extremely well.
She is so authentic and a real story teller, no need for anything more, she is so spectacular in herself, so captivating
Someone once said that the record company in the USA was afraid that Lara could outshine Celine with her talent and skills. Thus she wasn't really pushed into the US market but got the attention she deserved in Europe and subsequently in Russia.
And yes, I believe she would have kicked Celine to the kerb in no time.
Notably Micheal Bolton chose her over Celine to duet on The Prayer, saying her voice is perfection and unmatched. He only wanted her to sign with him.
So true, she does not exhibit any flash when using her vocal instrument. rather she (her vocal) is well grounded on how she interpreted the song. There is little or no ego at all involved when performing the song. That makes her singing more effective and authentic..................pleasing to the ears,
❤LARA🔥🎶🌹🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I love your honest, inspiring way of making reaction videos. You can tell when it's good.
Lara Fabian regularly blows my mind away and I sit speechless in front of the screen (sometimes with Pipi in my eyes). I'm 60 now and had never heard Lara until about six months ago. A phenomenon. (The first time in connection with Emma Kok.) Awesome woman, awesome artist, awesome person. I have hope for music again alongside all the usual twaddle.
Greetings from Germany
Bienvenido al mundo de Lara!! Saludos desde Chile
Thanks for another wonderful reaction to the wonderful Lara Fabian. I hope there's more to come 😉
Love Lara, love Adagio and enjoying Nick’s speaking voice.
You might also enjoy Floor's cover of this...... She pays homage to Lara but as always, she puts her take on it. So convincingly so that you might think she wrote it ......
Immensely enjoying your reactions to Lara, please react to Caruso, unbelievable performance. Regards from Greece.
Lara and Celine Dion were competitors during the 1988 Eurovision competition.. Celine won and Lara placed 4th.. I'm don't remember all of the details but basically Celine signed with Sony and Sony was advised that they could not sign Lara for a decade or so to release an English album or Celine would not record for them. In the mean time Lara finally achieved notable success in Europe, Canada, and other countries with numerous #1 hits. She has sold more than 20 million records worldwide. In 1999 Lara released her first English album and the dance hit I Will Love Again reached #1 on Billboards dance chart. She has since released 3 additional English albums. She was the French Canadian voice of Esmeralda in both the Disney Animated Feature of Hunchback and for the pop version as well. If you get the chance. You owe it to yourself to watch her "tour de force" and I believe highest artistic achievement, her En Toute Intimite concert. Thanks for the great reaction.
Yes there is plenty more "tea to spill" on La Reine. And I really like what Sir Nick is brewing up. He will indeed love "En Toute Intimiti". From Arias "Lara's way" to R&B covers to Medleys to Musical Theatre. Yep this is going to be a fun time capsule.
The Queen❤she is just incredible❤thanks Nick apprecate you❤
Thanks for another reaction! Please don’t stop, love watching your reaction and analysis.
when lara and dimash changes the mic from one hand to the other...great things are coming
Way, way back when I was a full-time boarder at a choral school, our voice master tutored us boys for the techniques of singing daily services. Our preformance coach insisted we needed entirely different skills for treble parts in opera, and for tv broadcasts and musicals. What Lara does is bring these two, distinct styles together so well that her long and tiring rehearsals make it seem effortless.
Queen!
On the belt with the modulation, notice her posture. She becomes planted to support the belt. She is so planted that it looks like she even almost squats down a bit. That's gives her the support she needs to do anything she wants.
The really cool thing about this concert is that it's doing now what it was supposed to do back in 2000. It was recorded to be played in America on PBS to introduce her to us, to go along with the English album that was released. But it didn't work out, as I'm sure others have explained why. But it's pretty awesome that so many Americans are finding her now because of this concert. Anyway, about Adagio, read the lyrics again, only think of them as a love song to the powers of inspiration, to the god of inspiration as Adagio, pleading with "him" to never abandon her because songwriting is everything, it lives under her skin, and she'll always be waiting at "the piano that plays". It will take on new depths and explain the passion that seems to come from her soul, as she looks to the sky, begging for this mystical connection to find her.
A wonderful performance ❤❤amazing,magical voice ❤❤wonderful Lara ❤❤
Love Lara, love Floor, love Ren and Chinchilla and Sam Tompkins. They all deserve more recognition.
Have you done any Jacob collier? His latest works are amazing live! He gets a lot of Grammy’s so a certain type of recognition for sure, but his music seems a bit too complex for many because he’s not as mainstream famous as he ‘should be’ either…
Lara is one of those very rare vocalists that has so many tools that each time you listen to her sing a song you hear something you missed the previous time. Such an emotional story teller.
I discovered Lara as a singer after hearing her sing the song at the end of the film Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within.
By the way, The adagio isn't technically baroque, nor actually be Albinoni. It's loosely based on a 6 measure phrase by Albinoni, and was expanded upon in the early 20th century, I'm sorry I forget the name of the composer.
Great reaction Nick. Love Lara and for a different take on the mood of this song, check out Floor's version I know you really like her too.😎
I WILL NEVER GET TIRED OF IT......
Don't worry Nick....everyone still listenes to that concert where Lara sung 25 years ago. 25 years from now everyone still remembers Lara, but nobody will remember Taylor S. ...I know her by name, but I don't know a single song of hers...or does she even compose anything by herself. She is a product, wellmarketed and I feel sorry for her. Thank you for this reaction 🎉
Now it’s time for Floor’s Adagio.
"The Prayer", her duet with Michael Bolton is amazing...please react to it Nick..Thanks.
she is the best singing storyteller of all time. her performance is unique. Nobody can do it better in this quality. That's why Team Celine Dion blocked its marketing in America in the 80s and 90s.
I hope you also listen to Floors version of this( the homestudio one)...and Dimashs, if you haven't allready🙂
Should also watch Floor's version, also just spellbinding
OmG, my favorite singer, please listen also: “for always”, uit the film A.I. .. she will surprise you !
Adagio in G minor for strings and organ, also known as Adagio in Sol minore per archi e organo su due spunti tematici e su un basso numerato di Tomaso Albinoni (Mi 26), is a neo-Baroque composition often misattributed to the 18th-century Venetian composer Tomaso Albinoni. In fact the work was composed by a 20th-century musicologist and Albinoni biographer named Remo Giazotto. The piece was purportedly based on the discovery of a bass line by Albinoni in a manuscript fragment.
Scholarly debate over the existence of the fragment persists, with most seeing the affair as a musical hoax perpetrated by Giazotto. There is no room for doubt when it comes to the source of everything in the Adagio other than the bassline, and Giazotto's authorship of these parts is not disputed.(Wikipedia).....Lara put the words on that music....
You will get the answer from others about why Lara is not famous in Amerika (since it is known she came on market at the same time as Celine and her husband was at the Sony ...). But answer could be also - extremly good things can be understod only to those who KNOW how good it is (and that is not in mediocre public).
Maravillosa Lara ❤❤❤❤
Next reaction to lara "CARUSO" please 🙏
You absolutely must listen to the Cover of Floor Jansen! I realy like Lara and she is an amazing Singer, don't get me wrong, but as painfull as it is to say, i think Floor is killing it!!
I've seen another version of this, in Italian, in a town square somewhere. Stunning singer and a stunning work.
I will not lie. I am a big Floor Jansen fan. The first halve of this song goes to Lara, but in my opinion, in the second halve, Floor hits it out of the F...... park!
I love Floor and think both halves go to Lara lol, specially this version is just perfect
But Floor did great also her version is in studio so it's not really comparable
Also I'm so grateful to Floor to bring me to know Lara through that cover
Seriously get your ears checked, floor is awful.
Hey, Nick. So glad you're continuing to analyze Lara. Crazy good song. Check out one of Dimash's versions of Adagio. He won't disappoint either.
the queen lara thanks
you should see her caruso :) but you probably have
Another great reaction again, thank you so much! ❤
Talking about Celine Dion and Lara Fabian. Maybe I could suggest a double analyse of both of them, competing against each other in the same contest, 37 years ago?
Hi Nick
Here's something special for you when you ask about Lara as a person
This is the most heartwarming TV-show's I have ever seen
[Eng] 'Tommy Mottola showed up with R. DeNiro while I was recording Adagio' | Lara Fabian (ITW 2020)
ua-cam.com/video/uRW9W5jvK_A/v-deo.html&ab_channel=LaraTheRingFabian
Love Lara ❤
Love from Denmark ❤
And now the Floor Jansen version 🇳🇱
Sony was too invested in Celine and they wanted Lara to do pop. She did one album that had two hits but really wanted to do ballads which conflicted with the similar style of Celine. Consequently they did not promote her album so Lara went to Europe and signed with Polidor instead and the rest is history. That being said the US lost an amazing vocalist 😢
More Lara please. So much more. Just one caveat the only song where the official video is necessary to get the full impact is Llora.
I recommend you a Spanish singer her name is Diana Navarro with the song "El perdón" she is a singer that transmits a lot when she sings and has incredible melismas. She is also very versatile when it comes to singing. She sings different musical styles. Best regards
