About Ustadh Jesse
Ustadh Jesse Maroney’s journey to Islam began during a nine-year prison sentence, during which time he embraced a faith that would transform his life. Upon his release, he delved into Islamic studies and emerged as a dynamic public speaker dedicated to uplifting the underserved and challenging societal stigmas.
Jesse’s influence is substantial. He has 12 years of experience teaching in both the free community and American penal institutions. He deepened his knowledge through the guidance and works of Shaykh Faisal Hamid Abdur Razak and Shaykh Al-Yacoubi. Additionally, he earned an Islamic Studies certificate from Shaykh Mustafa Umar at California Islamic University.
Today, Ustadh Jesse is a prominent Islamic lecturer, delivering Friday sermons (khutbah) at various Islamic centers across Southern California. He is also the in-house imam at Masjid Umar ibn Al-Khattab in downtown Los Angeles. From 2017-19, he taught Islamic studies in California state prisons, where his classes were recognized for offering credit towards reducing inmates’ sentences.
Jesse Maroney’s dedication and expertise continue to inspire and educate, profoundly impacting the communities he serves.

I am also a prisoner and have been for 43 years and I'm still in "jail" but in my own body.
I am a Muslim from birth. I have a muscle disease from when I was 3 years old. My muscles weaken, so do my heart and lungs. I couldn't walk from the age of 14 and I am perpetual in the wheelchair. That in short.
I have crawled through the eye of the needle at least 5 times in my life, almost died. 3 times in traffic, when a bus almost drove into me head-on, a car also head-on and when I had the green light and a car came from the left and almost drove into me at full speed. And 2 times in the hospital, due to flu because I had too much mucus in my weak lungs and because I fell out of my wheelchair on my head and have 2 broken legs. I had a lot of blood in my brain and the doctors couldn't operate on me because I'm too weak. The doctors gave up on me thinking I wouldn't save him but Allah swt save whomever He wills. I just live at home during the winter. I am on a ventilator and cannot eat properly because my swallowing muscles are weak and I am on a feeding tube. I used to be mentally weak and physically strong but now the other way around because of Islam. People who are healthy have more stress than me because I find peace from the Quran. There are people who have it even worser than me and I'm happy that Allah swt has made it 'easier' than them.
May Allah guide you us, Ameen.

Although your sins can veil your heart from fully witnessing God,
nothing you do can change how God sees you. Your sins and scars
can never remove God’s presence from your heart, because
regardless of who you are or who you have been, God’s mercy will
always encompass you. Your value is not defined by worldly labels,
because although God created this world for you, He says, “I created
you for Myself” (20:41) Secrets of divine love on 'Who are you to God'
Thank you so much for the inspiring talk. May Allah SWT bless all of you. It would be wonderful if someone could set up a GoFundMe account so we can contribute to this dawah for the sake of Allah. Once again, you have all touched my heart. Thank you, my dear brothers.
mashaAllah
Surat Al-An’am 6:43
Blaming others for our misfortune is merely a way to avoid personal responsibility and is Satan’s tool for obscuring the true solution. Rather, Allah will only improve our situation when we turn inward, critically examine ourselves, and purify our hearts and communities from spiritual diseases.
Allah said:
إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُغَيِّرُ مَا بِقَوْمٍ حَتَّىٰ يُغَيِّرُوا مَا بِأَنفُسِهِمْ
Verily, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves.
Surat Ar-Ra’d 13:11
There is much to lament for the situation of Muslims in many parts of the world, but blaming external factors is a dangerous distraction. Focusing too much on worldly causes while ignoring spiritual causes will prevent us from seeing the truth. The only way we can lift ourselves out of hardship is to lower ourselves before Allah, to repent to Him with humility and sincerity, to acknowledge our sins, and to improve our inward and outward moral behavior.
Success comes from Allah, and Allah knows best.
Allahu Akbar SubhanAllah
As Sallamalaikum wa rahmatAllah wa barakatu please let me know who we can talk to that may help expand this program to the Muslims within the Canadian prison system
Aameen
Madhallah

Allahuakbar
Unfortunately many prisons do not have an Imam, who comes from the outside. Prisons usually do have pastors and rabbis but not Imams. So the inmates elect a prisoner who they think has enough knowledge. Now a lot of times that prisoner preaches weird things, like Egyptology or separatist beliefs like the Nation of Islam, which has little nothing to do with the Quran or Hadith. They take folklore and preach it as the truth of what Islam is . We need qualified Imams, with full knowledge of Islam, Hadith and Shariah to start volunteering as "Prison chaplains" (that's the job title) in the California Department of Corrections... Or else people are going to continue to be mislead.
Whats up with the cameraman?!
Allahhuakbar😢
No comments why???
People the world you may not aware of prophet Mohammad SWW ,FINAL PROPHET ,WHO IS MERCY TO THIS WORLD Said in his last ceremony that no human have superiority over other, base on colors ,creed except person who is ALLAHA conscious ,pious knowledgeable ,black have no superiority over white vice versa,Arbs over non arbs ,vice versa .Islam mean peace .
Allover the leaders of any country or organizations must read the Quran life guide to guide them and others fairly no any other way because this guide revealed as a catalog from the creator to last prophet till guide end of the day reflect on this before face your deaths
Allahuma Barak
Alah bless All ❤ masallah masallah
