    I just got done binge watching ALL of your videos and I have to say you truly don’t understand how much I enjoy seeing what you do to these Honda/Acura cars and motors. I recently had picked up a 2000 ex coupe and was hooked on your very detailed SOHC build series as it motivated me a lot. God Bless you and all your work and keep at it because you have a strong group of supporters who are all behind you!

    Awesome job. Once my air ride manifold gets back I gotta do some driving in mine and leak down test on it. I think I need to resurface the block. Had issue with it blowing exhaust into the coolant jacket.

    • @TexasHondaChannel
      @TexasHondaChannel  2 роки тому

      Yea that’s a common issue when head get warped. It sucks when the block needs resurfaced but a head is simple enough.

    • @TexasHondaChannel
      @TexasHondaChannel  2 роки тому +2

      @@mihailpetrovici5044 oh gotcha i thought that might be what you meant but This method has worked well for me. I use brass wire wheels and it tends to not eat the metal up bad or anything. I did it on my first car after being told not to and never had a issue and every build since that day where the gasket is stuck. If it’s not stuck on I just use a razor blade and it comes right off but these composite style gaskets they always get stuck. If it ran bad after all this work I would just get another cylinder head from junkyard and call it good but it runs pretty good now.

      @@TexasHondaChannel I say to sand the block or head with a big piece of glass instead of taking it to the machine shop not cleanimg

    • @TexasHondaChannel
      @TexasHondaChannel  2 роки тому +1

      @@mihailpetrovici5044 Yea i knew what you meant. To “resurface” it so to speak. I am all over the place I blame autism and adhd but i get off topic fast. I was gonna say we usually use a perfectly smooth flat piece of 2x4 and do it but the best method we used was a belt sander table. Worked awesome but cleaning was the main part I was trying to mention but was gonna lead to that part. Either way all methods work good if done good enough. It’s like $75 for local machine shop pre biden prices so not sure now. It just takes them 2 weeks to get it done and then you need a MLS gasket and not worth all that. The guy getting it is good at working on cars too so he can do whatever he needs I was just knocking it out so he didn’t have to.

      I knew I would have some people saying that lol been doing it since 2006 to current with no issues to any of them I did it too.. If the gasket isn’t baked on the cylinder head I use a razor blade and if I can afford to I would just send it off but no local machine shops gotta drive out of town and they are expensive now days. It works perfectly for me. Do at your own risk or not at all not saying anyone else has to do it. I’m using the brass wire brushes. Don’t seem to do any deep scratch damage. Seals perfectly fine 😅
