The French Quarter is a huge tourist trap. Yes, lovely architecture and good food, if you know in advance where to go. All those cheap souvenir shops . . .

As a resident of this city, the French Quarter is not the only section of this city. There are so many options, but you missed so much. What about Saint Charles Avenue? What about Magazine Street? What about Prytania Street? What about the Bywater? What about the Marigny? What about Algiers Point? Bayou St. John?
