Chef Alexis!!!! Bring on the back pocket recipes!!! Interesting fact about the jello and supermoist cake mixes there's no chance I would have ever known about that. Eggs at room temp and the coffee addition is awesome I love it. In with the cornmeal now mix and orange rind afterwards....The flan being lighter than the cake mix makes sense in terms of how it all turns out this is fascinating. Oh that sprinkling of the nuts on top takes this Flan Cake to the next level and the old lady plates don't hurt either just beautiful!!! Now with the blackberries and powderd sugar YUM😋. Awesome cooking as always my friend, stunning in fact!!!
Wow Alexis! I love flan! What a great spin and transformation of a box cake! This is something that I will definitely try! And you know that I love that you are doing what you learned from your mom! 🍸❤️
I know you like food that has a story behind it. Funny thing about that caramel. In culinary school the pastry chef asked if someone knew how to make caramel and I made that and he threw it out and said that that was not caramel. Yes of course not caramel in the culinary tradition but I thought that is how caramel was made. I did not know the four other ways to make it. lol.
This flan cake is absolutely classic .The layeyer looks incredible. Thank you for sharing and great tip. Keep connected and visit. Have a wonderful Monday.
@@TheOtherSideOfTheStove Absolutely yes, indeed if you want I would be happy to have dinner one evening with you and your family. When you want to let me know and I will give you all the information for some restaurants of typical Roman cuisine (NON TOURISTIC)
Hola amigo que delicia de pastel que has preparado, tiene que estar buenisimo, la elaboracion de la misma de principio a fin me ha encantado , que rico y jugoso tiene que estar, gran trabajo, receta de 10. Te mando un saludo enorme amigo.
Oh that looks so delicious Alexis! Combining those mixes together is amazing! I have not tried that but now that you have shown me how, I will have to give this a try and impress the heck out of my guests!!! 😋😋😋👍👍🍻
I must of miscommunicated in the video. Kevin I just want to clarify that the powdered pudding from Jello is for if you are making the cake batter from scratch....the store bought cake mix that says moist has pudding powder already in it and is the reason why it's really moist. I wouldn't recommend adding it to a cake box mix that says moist but if you do let me know how it turns out.
What a great idea, topping the cake with the flan. It looks so beautiful right out of the inverted pan. Wonderfully done Chef Alexis! This is such an amazing dessert idea. Thank you for this!
Hey Susan! Thanks, I usually don't like to fuss with " fancy" desserts unless I have to, this one I have been doing for the past 25 years. People who like flan and cake like it very much. Have a great week. I like your shorts you have been posting.

I love flan !!! I grew up eating it all of the time. This looks amazing !! I’m definitely going to make this. I like that you showed us how to make it using cake mix, store bought mix saves so much time and is good. Love the nuts and blackberries on top !!! Alexis you are looking so cut, I can tell you have been working out and it really shows.
