Shut 'er off maybe? It's what I gotta do in my 99 cummins
That’s badass man! Nicely done. Gonna have to check out his channel
There was guy local to me put a 3208 in a Chev half ton 4wd. He adapted a sm465 to it. Broke front rims constantly
I had always wondered about that.. very big engine, seen it in fords, but no chevy.
A gutless very heavy turd but a cool swap nonetheless
Chevy trucks usually get a jimmi
Why in a 1/2 ton? I mean i know they are gutless but damn.
They are not all that reliable and have no turbo, heavy as hell, what's the point? They *always* start in the cold but that's what the got going for them.
@@bobjackson4287 Maybe styling of the body? Idk doesnt seem worth it to me
I've literally always wanted to do this but never had funds for it glad to see someone else doing it to see how it might turn out, I wanted to do it with a early to mid 80s dually, I considered a 3208 too
I remember watching some of this build. Did a real nice job
Best video on UA-cam thank you Deboss all day baby
YESSSSSSSSSSSSS, I’ve been hoping for something like this.
One of the many things that I love about this channel is that you have to have something new to be useful or good.
Having kids never saved me with both my marriages, but I still have my trucks and my hotrod!!!
Got to focus on the things that matter huh?
@@ctraltdel6510 somebody didnt get the joke
We use to swap Perkins 354 cid 6 engines into everything from f 150 to Chevy 60s to f 750s never seen an engine that big in a truck that small but it's a good thing to do nicely done
that is the most badass thing driving down the road
Some guys on an OBS Ford FB group were just talking about that truck last week. He had a yellow truck cab on the deck.
Looks like drew made it over the border before the outbreak got bad and the quarantine closed the peace bridge
She holds a good bit of oil for sure. I remember helping my cousin change the oil in his Mack DM800, that 300 Mack held 14 gallons.
Cool swap and everything he does seems to have a purpose instead of for show (22.5's to get better gearing). Not sure if I'm the biggest fan of those old 4 speed Allisons but they're cheap and seem to work fine.
He drives it to work unladen. At545 gotta do ok for that.
Very cool young man, seemed very educated about his project.
"Best thing about Fords is when you take all the Fords pieces out". Cool truck for a Ford.
Ha ha ha ha ha omg so funny
Shit comment from a total turd, gitt outta here numbnuts
@@spud2727 Lol dude, it was a quote from the video, not my words snowflake.
That's cool! I have been following Drew's build almost since he started!
I've waited a long time for this video!
4:30 you could use some bushings on your leaf springs.
Another smart forward thinking person exposed !
Thanks Rich!
My dad bought an 86 farm truck f350 with the 460.. I'd love to help him do this to his.. after my Barra Ranger is rolling. I've looked for axles and found him Sterling's and super 60s too.. this is inspiring
Makes me want to swap a skid loader engine in a Nissan frontier
Got the VGG hat on! Need to see Rich and Dereck do a build
He did a damn good job building that truck and what an upgrade for that ford
One of the best looking trucks I've ever seen.
That is a badass truck
That is a cool truck! My cousin built a 73 F350 with a 471 DD and allison swap. H was a driller and pulled Big loads of casing with it. Only got about 20 mpg when not hooked to the trailer.
Put 1 or 2 Econolines on the bed and see if she'll do a wheelie like our friend Slave Lake. 👌 Fmint. Nice truck
stimpy02000 it’s wayyyyyy too front heavy. Like an extra 500 pounds than usual
Another Great video!!.... Thanks, and love watching your own F350/Cat swap progress...., but for the record..... Long Live the 2 cycle Detroits!! : )
Man, 8 gallons! I feel guilty at 15qts on mine. Hopefully he's doing oil analysis instead of simple mileage change intervals.
most semis take between 7-10 gallons of oil they require more oil to fire the injectors and to keep the hpop lubricated and the motor much more to it than they look
Anyone know if that injector story is true? Or could a smaller pan be used to lessen the need for as much Dino squeezings
@@shapeshifter7753 The story's true, my 7.3 does the same thing but on a smaller scale. He would have to re-engineer the pan. It's a heat dissipation/anti-foaming issue on the OTR truck pulling 10s of thousands of pounds.
@@shapeshifter7753 yes the story is true it possible to use a smaller pan just dont go with some cheap chinese one
The 6.0 powerstroke moves 18 gallons of oil a minute over 3000rpm. Yes oil is very very important in a heui. They wont run or start with under half a pan of oil.
I worked at a salvage yard in Wisconsin back in 1991 and one of the "old timers", ( he was probably about 40 and I was 19, so he was old) had put a Cat (don't know what it was) into a 1979 f350, with a tilt hood. He welded the fenders to the hood so the whole thing would tilt forward. You guys are only about 30 years behind.
That truck is great! the 7.3 idi is good but a 3126 Cat is better! you still can't beat a 7.3 Powerstroke though, the only thing that is better is maybe a 5.9 & a 2 stroke Detroit.
🤷♂️
All I ever heard was that cat motor is shit from company owners. I would of kept the 7.3 personally
