That combo of 8N and 44 is really cool!!! I like how it cuts, looks like it doesn't spend much energy on throwing the cut grass. Beats the crap out of a sickle blade mower as far as vibration too! Nice!!!
I couldn't ever get my sickle mower to work well enough to be worth hooking it up to my 8n tractor. The very tip would always get clogged and then just push the grass over. Maybe it's the operator or adjustments needed
Might try to find a hydrulic pump that runs off the crank shaft like they used in the loaders then mount a little tank for hydrulic oil then put a log splitter valve so youll have life hydraulics when tractor is running and have up and down pressure make sure log splitter valve has float detent and the mower will float over the ground while mowing
@rickyblazier7507 that's a heck of an idea!! I also thought of just a 12 volt hydraulic pump like a self contained system to work the lift portion. But I like your idea! Thanks for watching!
I have done all kinds of strange things, including sawing wood, but it was at too high speed and was connected to a piece of a moped, but also other things connected to do things. I know quite a bit about it.but I should make some more videos but I'm always too busy
@dimitrimotor2861 I understand all about having any spare time haha. Keep thinking "outside the box" on different projects, This world needs more folks like that. Thanks for watching!!
You just need to run an alkaline solution in your radiator then drain and refill with distilled water, look in the radiator and you will probably see calcium deposits inside the tube. I wouldn't over do it with the alkaline solution. Don't forget to put antifreeze back in.
I definitely need to do that or have this radiator rodded out. But probably will purchase a newer one here soon and keep this one for a spare. Thanks for watching!
Crazy dangerous. No cab, no guard on the mower? Those things throw stones like mad. My neighbor got beaned with a golf ball through an open cab window. It put him in the hospital. Be safe, get a sickle bar.
Yes, sir! I need to get a tarp for a cover, at least. Fortunately, I have no rocks and on flat ground. The only thing is the occasional ant bed, so dirt would fly everywhere. Thanks for watching!
@@lboutdoors8690 my grandad cut hay with a sickle bar mower for many many years bout long as we had our farm, that was til 88 when we ceased operations, the land is just leased now.
@user-py3ex2ym9f a bush hog tears and shreds the grass which in cutting hay you really don't want to do. Yes I at least need to put a heavy tarp over it.. thanks for watching!!
Cool project - make it work, adapt as necessary!
@jazzerbyte That's the story of my life !! Adapt and overcome!! I'm not done with it but it's a good start! Thanks for watching!
That looks like it cut better than a sickle bar would have done. I've never seen such a mower but I like it. Thanks for sharing
Thank you for watching!! It's a work in progress, lol.

See if you can pump an outlet into the tipping pipe to work the lift ram since it appears to be single acting.
Yeah I got to figure that out. Thanks

Yes sir them sickle bar mowers can be tricky to set up to cut half way decent. Good luck with it . Thanks for watching!!

I'd rather just use a sickle bar mower myself.
@@Ron-zi3cg yes sir nothing wrong with a sickle when set up properly.

@Ron-zi3cg a lot of great knowledge with the older generation that I try to soak in everyday. Thanks for watching!
@@lboutdoors8690 you're very welcome
Not really any different than a bush hog. Dangerous as heck. But no reason it couldn’t seriously injure someone.

Modern? 😂
@CivilRepair well it's newer than a sickle mower haha.
