I swear, It's mostly the female Idols who always get called "Lazy". If they aren't lazy, they're "Pick-Me-girls", or "over dancing". PICK A STRUGGLE?? They criticized Tsuki for "overdoing her expressions" and now criticizing other female idols for not flipping their hair or not doing body waves with a seductive gaze. But when a Male Idol is just as bland or "expressionless", no one would even blink an eye or would even be praised for being "cool and unbothered".

Not entirely true, there's definitely a lot more female idols who's given shit for either doing this or that but some male idols do get "criticised" as well for having "bad stage presence" or they aren't "trying enough to improve"

I have heard male idols like Kai and San get criticized for overdoing their expressions, and Jin also got hate in BTS earlier years for being a weak dancer. So it is not just female idols. But I have no idea why they called Winter weak dancer, she is actually a pretty great dancer. Lia is not bad dancer either it is just the other Itzy members are extremely great dancers.
About Winter, I’m preeetty sure she didn’t do swing her hair/head so strongly because she had a hairpiece accessory on lmao. I thought that was quite obvious. It would come flying off if she did like the other girls, who all had nothing in their hair. So I don’t think that’s fair to criticize Winter. And I’m someone who isn’t too fond of Aespa’s music thus far.

Yeah most of the time(though not always), the main vocalist of a group dances a bit different to conserve their strength for singing. Which makes sense since it’s literally their job lol.
Itzy's lineup is great and wouldn't wanna change it for a thing, but tbh it's kinda JYPE's fault. This is grp has the best dancers of 4th gen, so choosing Lia seems like they were intentionally making her standout (not in a good way).

Jennie is not even a lazy dancer. She has the best stage presence on stage. She doesn’t only have ankle injuries, she also have motion sickness too. I also have motion sickness and I needed to have a long rest because of it.

@@karanp282 There was a lot that contributed to it. My issue is mostly that netizens seem to forget that idols are just humans like the rest of us. Idols get tired, injured, burnt out, etc and they need rest and our understanding and the support of their companies when they need rest. The fact that Jennie's ankle was so badly injured and they made her go out on stage and perform on it, IN HEELS, instead of just letting her sit for the performance is just gross. As a Blink, I would be okay with that if it means our girls are taken care of.
Winter is one of my favourites but from my point of view, her dancing as of late has been lacklustre. However, I wouldn't say it's caused by her laziness. Other possibilities are injury, illness, not feeling well emotionally or just being tired of doing the same choreography over and over again. In my opinion, I don't think it's laziness, maybe other factors. She remains one of my favourites.
I guess she had hair-extension that is why she did`n do head movement. I also think it`s not laziness, they are preparing for a comeback, they have plenty thing to do and learn now
to play Devil's advocate, I don't think hair extensions should be an excuse. Secondly, during the next-level era, Her performances have been underwhelming. She is a good dancer. Good dancers don't suddenly become lacklustre. I believe something is wrong behind the scenes.

Lia was NEVER lazy, yes I have to agree, she's not as good as compared to the other members. But she's a good dancer! Lia has talked about this issue before! And every single comeback, Lia has been improving! I really hope people can stop the whole Lia thing and leave the past in the past, my girl is doing her best! And why don't people focus on her strenghts such as her vocals rather than focusing on something which she comparatively isn't the best at. There's a difference between criticism and hate.
Yeah it’s a bit odd that she’s getting picked on when generally the main vocalists of groups tend to not dance “as hard” as the others because they are the SINGERS they have to carry the group vocally & thus need to focus and conserve strength for that. In the same way the main dancer focuses on dancing. It’s the whole reason that idols have roles in the first place, to highlight their strengths and help the group as a whole.

Are they slaves or some subjects you can buy? The fact that you pay somebody money doesn’t give you the right to harass or disrespect them. I think teachers are also receive money for they work but that doesn’t mean they have to put up with disrespect from students even if they pay for the lessons. What’s the difference with idols? •Winter is the second best dancer after Karina in æspa... For me. She has a great charisma when she's performing. She dances with clear details. She does really well. Leave her alone for once.
•Lia is a non-dancer .... ITZY is known for their tough and powerful choreos. She catches up with the other members so well... They are all dancers except her...also her position is of a vocalist. She's tries her best to give a great performance.
•Chaeyoung is a great rapper. She can sing and also dance well. Y'all do know how JYPE treats them as manchines right...CB after CB...whole ass difficult choreos with those vocals n raps. It sometimes might be tough for them. Chaeyoung always did great. She is a charismatic performer and will always be.

Winter I see as lackluster that's for sure. Wonyoung literally had a specific hairstyle that if she ruined would make a delay in her mcing after. Lia isn't a dancer by nature she's a singer, ofc she will seem lazy compared to yeji and yeji, and maybe she is tired; it happens. In a group like twice not many of them are great dancers anyways but it isn't like she was hardly moving, I think she did just fine.

I recall seeing a fan cam of Winter's most recent performance, when she was going to rotate her head (black mamba choreo), and she stopped and grinned a bit before continuing. I really think it was because of her hair extension because of the way she abruptly stopped her head from twirling like she was really about to do it but then decided to stop. I wish I could track down the fan cam and put it in her so y'all can see. I only saw it on TikTok tho.
Though I sincerely hope that the hairstylist is better aware of this. As much as I appreciate their emphasizing the beauty of these girls, I truly hope they select something more comfortable for these girls to dance in next time.
I don;t think that someone should be called a "lazy dancer" just based off of one time. However, if it happens multiple times, I might agree! Also, take Jennie's case, she is one of my favorites in the group along with Jisoo and got tremendous hate for her "lazy dancing" when people didn't know the full story. Would you dance with an injury and start jumping and doing really energetic dance moves? I would think and hope not.

Tbh Wonyoung shouldn't even be on this list. She had a single weaker performance, but typically she is known for great stage presence.
Some of this stuff is so ridiculous. Perhaps they were not feeling well on that particular day or perhaps they had an injury. Jennie of Blackpink was being accused of being lazy and it turned out she had an injury. They're human beings, they can't always be perfect.

True she does have a big impact but in her almost 2 years of being active not once has she given a good stage presence of expressions. No offense but her fancams only go viral because she has great visuals. Don’t get me wrong I love her and she is my bias, but at this point I don’t expect her to dance enthusiastically anymore. what is wrong with the netizens?! it's not always that an idol feels well and would dance with the same capacity as they did before. some idols (mostly visuals) are instructed by the stylists to not move a lot so that the camera does not capture them with an unpleasant face/hair. these netizens people seriously need to take a chill oh my gahd- also it's like so hard to rotate head and not feel dizzy so please leave the poor girls alone, they're trying their best.

I don't think they're lazy dancing at all, Lia is Anemic, which makes her very tired very quickly and we all know ITZY's choreography is very energy comsuming. I do think Lia just lacks the dance skill, while all of her members were dancers since very young her just being vocal didn't help, she was never a dancer pre-debut or anything she started learning dancing in JYPE. Personally, I'm not going to say she's a good dancer now, but she isn't the worst, I agree that she needs to improve because when you are in a dance-based group and you suck at dancing, you're going to stand out. JYPE should have waited to debut ITZY because personally they debuted when they had no competition and with all these new groups ITZY's really likely to get outshined (which they already have). Wonyoung's case is most likely because of a lack of proper time management. Wonyoung works 24/7 which leaves her no time for herself or proper sleep which she needs because she's just 17, she's still technically growing and is just a young teenager, she needs sleep. I do think that Wonyoung didn't want to ruin her hair and is trying to look her best on camera though, which is understandable since she usually has many things to do after, like being MC and her schedule as well. Winter isn't a lazy dancer at all, her moves are usually cleaner and more perfected than having her own style, she has a bad case of under-dancing, but she CAN give it her all, like in Aespa's BM era. I think out of all the Aespa members, Winter doesn't have stage presence which makes her stand out in GOT the beat's Step Back performance, watch GOT the beat's TikTok with Winter and Wendy dancing you will see the difference in over dancing or energized dancing (sometimes) and under dancing. I think Chaeyoung doesn't need to jump that high though, it doesn't change anything honestly and fans are just acting toxic there.

Nah I don't mind Wonyoung's issues anymore. Haters will find the dumbest things to hate an idol. Back then I was actually trying to understand their point that are mostly pointless. But not anymore.. I think if people are judging a dance, putting forward accusations like one of having no energy though is true, it can depend on several factors like leg injury or tiredness. One doesn't know really.
But.
What the performers can do however is get a lot better at body language and expressions (the two extremely important parts of giving a good dance performance ), to beat one's lacking energy or avoiding hurting the leg.
To dance powerfully one doesn't need to do leg movements as a must. Compensating with powerful hand/hip movements and expressions go a long way.
So if the idols really lack in ALL, that might be a correct accusation of a half-hearted dancing. Not otherwise.

regarding lia, she's not a great dancer and adding the fact that her members are all really good dancers, it just made her stand out more, but then she is the only one that's not in the dancer line. also i do think weight has an effect too, her "worst" moments were also the times where she was the skinniest. you need the energy to dance and you can definitely see the difference. ITZY's dances can be really technical, especially during wannabe where she was nitpicked the most. you can say she's not a great dancer but you definitely can't say she doesn't try her best to keep up and improve, if people don't try to purposely find faults, she doesn't stand out and blends in really well. just sad to see people always targeting her and she knows it too, but i'm happy to see her improving each comeback
