People don’t realize that time on my ride, is that once we are born we ride together on the earth around the sun. It is up to us to choose our own path and destiny by what we pursue
I really liked your thoughts on the idea of Tyler allowing himself to take time on the ride. I enjoyed how you understood that this video had Tyler showing two distinct perspectives on falling: One negative/darker and the other positive/lighter therefore more illuminating. I think Tyler wishes to try and prevent himself from seeing the ride as falling into hell with a quick death, by turning his perspective viewpoint on its head or looking at things from a different angle, to see his fall as a journey with a unique view that allows him some sense of a bigger experience with greater control. By doing this it enables him to acknowledge that it’s not why he’s falling or where he’ll end up that matters, but rather, it’s the contemplation of the “ride” that of benefit. This is because it allows him time to escape from the panic and feeling of everything crashing and becoming black, to enable him to centre and calmly ask for help to break his fall and guide his mind slowly towards a softer landing that he can walk away from unscathed with a story to tell.
Ride was one of the song from the blurryface album where they seriously start the lore. Their label wants commercial song to pass on the radio (it was stated in "Lane Boy") and i have always thinks that this music video has a hidding meaning about it : Tyler and Josh were at ease with their fan base (stay in the dark, small concert room, ...) but feel unconfortable/anxious when they are overexposed on media (on the spotlight) and they can support it only with their frienship help (each one put sunglasses to other) I think "Lane Boy" and "Bandito" (litteraly little band) stated also this message that they don't want media exposure and pressure from the industry music. From Bandito : I could take the high road => doing hit music But I know that I'm going low => selling less but doing good music I'm a ban-, I'm a bandito => little band and almost "ban" from commecial music
So, when I gave that list of songs I suggested to listen to, I didn’t include self titled album, so here it is, titled: “The Pantaloon” I also didn’t include their album Clancy because it isn’t even out yet, but I’m guessing when it’s out, “Oldies Station” or “At The Risk Of Feeling Dumb” might be good options Lastly, I change my mind about including “Leave The City” in the list “Morph” is a better candidate
I am too proud to see a therapist but I think you are cool and I would like for you to be my therapist. Good luck. I got issues. How much do you charge and will you consent??
Ok with the who would you live for who would you die for and who would you kill for are all the same person be if you live for someone and only for that person you would die for them because if you didn't and they got hurt then you would have nothing to live for and same with the who would you kill for because when you are truly living for only a single person then you would do anything for that person

This song became extremely popular b/c of the sound and most people don't even realize what Tyler is saying
listen to it as a teen. im 20 this year and i never realised the meaning to a lot of TOP songs till the past few years.
As a kid I had no idea, now I’m an extremely depressed 15 year old and I understand the meaning perfectly
People don’t realize that time on my ride, is that once we are born we ride together on the earth around the sun. It is up to us to choose our own path and destiny by what we pursue
You'll notice Tyler uses a metaphoric car and car terms in many songs/videos.
love that you broke this song down. i think its interesting how popular it was and how philosophical the lyrics are.

Night and day also plays a big part of Tyler’s songwriting.

I've noticed that when he's talking to God he looks upwards. It's really evident in Goner.
