I did the same colour combination as you...I will be redoing mine however as I didn't get all of the old sticker adhesive off! Also, the tabs are broken off of much of mine, so I have to devise an attachment method for the bunks and kitchenette.
Looks cool. I still want to get one and put my own spin on it. Just FYI: red cans are for Gasoline, yellow for diesel, and blue for kerosene. You don't want water (or diesel) in your fuel tanks. 😅
@@paulknappcollections Not Fuel. Water would work. (Confirmed: black plastic jerry cans were used for water in the later Viet Nam era, switched to tan and green later)
Knitting grating is great to cover the windows. Take your time cleaning and painting it. You can buy old Barbie chairs and paint them black for driver seats.
You did an awesome job! Really inspiring me. I recently acquired a 1988 Mattel Barbie camper van and am planning on rehabbing it into a Gi Joe support vehicle something similar to the 1972 Gi Joe mobile support vehicle, since it features a similar mechanic where the front of the vehicle detaches from the back and can travel independently.
Very cool build. About a year ago I saw a Barbie Van in a thrift store, and I thought about grabbing it to do something with it; figured I'd never get around to it and it would take up space. Now I regret not nabbing it! :P
Very VERY awesome!!! I have one too that I’ve been on the fence about because it is almost mint and complete. LOVE the alien pod!!!😂 Just looks like a lot of fun and you put your heart into man! Fantastic!!!✌️🤘🇨🇦
Wow that is a super cool project, love this, you knocked it out of the park, that would be a cool piece to incorporate into a photo story, Aliens are right up the AT Alley!!!!!!!!
Really sweet build. I'm torn now, because I have one in my To Do collection, and I planning to go 6 Million Dollar man, covert RV, but now maybe I need to rethink.

Well I thought of that too but not sure the curvature would work. I tried using the flat plastic from window boxes but it was too much work heating them up and making them bend. But thanks
Did you ever see a sci-fi flick, "Damnation Alley?" It featured a vehicle called the Landmaster, a massive two-body ATV (for which I've seen published blueprints in the past). I'd love to see one of those done up in 1/6! =^[.]^=
@@paulknappcollections Easy enough to find on UA-cam with a title search. You'll also see images and videos just about the Landmaster. Pop some corn and enjoy the post-apocalypse! =^[.]^=
Questions… 1 - where do you get flat plastic thats thin like you have for stove? 2- What kind of prep work do you do for the plastic parts before painting them? Primer, cleaner, etc? Thanks
Just regular spray can primer and the plastic is from Hobby store comes in different sized sheets usually white but you cv=an sometimes get black. Its just styrene.

I have a similar idea but I want two vehicles with trailers. One for a medical vehicle and the other a communication vehicle but I want to beef up the suspension with a 6x6 RC frame
Pat from elite action Joe did a similar custom and it looks amazing! Can't wait to see your custom, I like how we all have different visions on what we like on our customs, I did the halo warhog like Jeff I saw Jeff from skunk works do one it was amazing , so I did my version in flat black for my super Joe Team, Adam from gi Joe the lost chronicles did the Bronco to catch aliens an other cryptid creatures I did my version as a desert vehicle, now I'm working on a 6 week jeep I saw from Mike Boinski from medic Mike did an awesome job with his, I also did my version of a Actionman truck they're version is strictly a military vehicle mine is more of something the adventure team found and modified for the adventure team! Go for it! Post a video when done.
Try a hair dryer on the vinyl, it should shrink the windows and remove the wrinkles.

Try laminating the tinted plastic for your windows
Its actually pretty thick but thats a good idea.
Could you use plastic from 3 liter bottles for the windows?
