I really like this series because it brings up underrated lost media
Well thanks! I hope to continue it for many more episodes.
Shinji Ikari the underrated of the underrated
LSuperSonicQ the is rare set of megaman z x and zero action figures only displayed and a vile mark 3 with ride armor also displayed one time only
I forgot the video but its probably megaman z facts
LSuperSonicQ The megaman z and vile mark 3
probably only had 1 completed set of figurines
a trick : you can watch movies on Flixzone. Me and my gf have been using it for watching all kinds of movies lately.
My stomach rolled when I stumbled upon that Toy Site prototype for Zelda.
It was awesome to see that it survived but then terrifying to think of where it ended up. Sure, positively thinking we could hope it ended up with a collector, even a clueless one who'd keep it in original condition. I'm not one who feels EVERY collectible ought to be left in box but this is a situation where the item never hit mass production and becomes an artifact exclusively. We can sure hope that, but my mind quickly drifted to someone buying this for their kid, opening, chewing its head off and chucking the box in the garbage.
It's sad that history like this isn't preserved or documented in such a fashion that the masses can access it. It's a niche area of archeology, certainly, but come back to this in thousands of years and it fits a cultural context. It's information to our values and customs. Sure, that sounds silly now, and I'm sure someone in the distant past would find it funny to hold onto one of their pots or old clothes.
The devil is certainly in the details.
Totally agree with everything you said. In fact I think we discusses this on the forums a while back. If it turns up safe and sound I'd be glad.....but yeah the deeper mystery is where is it now........
Haha, probably, I'm starting to place people from forums and facebook groups out and about here on youtube. :P
I won't hold my breathe to see it again but I would be happy to see it end up with a collector in decent shape.
according to the multiverse theory theres an alternate universe where that prototype was bought by a dog person B-)
You should have bought it lol
I remember this kind of stuff got me Into lost media. I used to be OBSESSED with skylanders and in the background of one of their trailers was a "Mystery" sky landers that was a green and orange wingless dragon, and everybody who liked that game and had a UA-cam channel collectively had a seizure over it. There were apparently a few prototype toys for it, would have loved to see what's become of it now.
from what I remember the jazwares prototype sonic was sold on ebay a couple of years back
Hm, I recall seeing a brown 3.75" Knuckles, but never a Sonic. Do you have any evidence of the auction?
LSuperSonicQ sadly no since the seller didn't say it was a prototype so I didn't think anything of it
3:02 I wished those Plushes came out.
They did, unless you're talking about the prototypes.
I have some prototypes of ninja turtles figures
Like bebop and rocksteady
YO WHAT!
My uncle used to have a lot of star wars action figure proto-types, but not knowing their value he sold them.
Man that sucks for you.
I remember on SonicGear it said ToyIsland was gonna make Sonic Adventure plushies. I don't think these were made.
They were not, unfortunately.
sonic stuff at toys r us 2011 is really rare
Why do they destroy prototypes? They are making big mistakes.
Emily Lancaster WHAT?! THAT FUCKING PISSES ME OFF!! (Looking for a prototype of the Super Saiyan 4 Goku figuarts)
To save materials and stuff.
Like if they sell them they would make more money then destroying them. A prototype from apple could be sold for millions
Emily Lancaster it’s a double edge sword if they keep the prototypes they would possibly waste money on something unnecessary. Sad but true.
Most prototypes are destroyed because a company has already finished creating the finale release of the item meaning they no longer need to keep the prototype which then the results are destroying it. But some employees want to take it home and sell it to other people and collectors which is how theres so many prototypes out in the wild today.
I'd love to have that huge mario kart 64 prototype!! it'd be so awesome to have :D
that was a good video and it makes want to collect some prototypes, so hope make more of these videos
If this video did well enough, I had plans to cover more.........so don't worry!
[NeckSweater] onion I'm trying to get my hands on a Super Saiyan 4 Goku figuarts prototype
you cant sell a normal toy as a prototype if you don't wipe off all the paint.
This has to be my favorite video from you LSSQ
3:12
Boi look at Knuckles head and eggman
0:04 that dude has a BOSHI plush WAAAAAHT
i keep reading your name as LubersonicQ
I really liked the sonic adventure action figures, wish I could find some. back in the day before retro collecting got popular I wanted to buy Zelda OOT figures and they were like $20 boxed. I can't imagine how expensive they are now.
There was this prototype Fnaf plush I wish I had SO bad. It's the original Twisted Bonnie plushie shown by Funko to get hype for them. Unlike the one sold in stores, it's teeth are bared and it's freakin' great.
3:10 wth like 4 years ago I (THINK) I saw that somewhere on line
It was probably on sonicgear
So the Mallow plush WAS spotted. I've always found prototypes interesting, especially of products that were never released, like the Toy Island Tails and Knuckles Super Posers.
My biggest regret was not buying that boxed ganon at the swap meet
Omg that sonic adventure one looks horrifying
1:32 I got that Sonic action figure on the right!
Goku55588 same
Hello, LSuperSonicQ. I discovered your channel about an hour or two ago and was wondering if you could cover the underrated topic of the UB Funkeys prototypes from the new york comic con in 2009. The figures were never released because the company radica went bankrupt or they weren't selling as well around that time and decided to discontinue it. It would really be appreciated if you could find out where they are. I am a toy collector and have been wondering where they have been for a while now. thanks for reading
Corn Flakes temmie
Blood would be shed for that Banjo figure.
i wa n t i t so b ad
3:01 my friend had toys just like these including Sonic Tails and Knuckles. This was in 2008. They were rubbery and had Chaos Emeralds
Where did you find the image for the prototypes of the Joyride figures seen at 2:50??
All the Joyride stuff came from here: www.toymania.com/toyshows/tf2002/ertl1.shtml
Hey LSSQ! I have a mysterious snow leopard plush that I suspect is a prototype. The stuffed animal in question is Wild Republic brand, and was obtained at the Duluth Zoo. (in Minnesota.) Her eyes are different than the other stuffed animal from the same publisher around her time, and when mom and dad came to get an extra (in case of her... you know.) there weren't any. Some oddities I have noticed are that her paws tilt to the sides, so she can't sit up well. Her eyes also aren't placed right, as one is lower than the other. Along with that, her 'fur' mats easily, unlike others that I have had and SLEPT WITH, which don't have matted fur. This is really interesting, and I hope you can find something about her! I have tried all I can, and have found nothing.
I like your choice of music, consider me subscribed!
Pretty good video. Very understandable about what happen to prototypes. Keep it up! Can't wait for the other one... ;)
I want to start collecting prototypes so that I can learn about the history of the toys and have them to look at and display.
Oh hey, I had those sonic and shadow figures that are on the road segments. I believe I bought them at our local Sam Goody
I have a few prototypes in my collection. Some authentic unreleased codename kids next door samples , the Johnny bravo trendsmasters plush and of course my unpainted one of a kind prototype of Carl from aqua teen hunger force , which would of been made my palisades. Cool video.
i saw some images of team fortress prototype figurines when i got bored one time and it made me wonder "whatever happened to those?". they didnt have paint, and some were just plain yellow smooth plastic. the medic, sniper and scout figurines, or "the final three" i believe were shown off at a toy fair or sonething i believe theyre most likely prototypes too. really interesting stuff, and its sad that most of them just get destroyed.
i hope to find some one day. maybe some from jojo's bizarre adventure, haha
I have an interesting case of a prototype plush! Sometime in May of this year, I bought what appears to be a TOMY Pokémon Zygarde Core "Prototype" plush off of eBay. The seller said it was a prototype. I believe it is, and here is why: Around February of this year, I found the same plush on eBay as an auction. I wanted to get it, but I wasn't able to. Someone eventually won the auction for $50. Now, I got mine from a different seller than the one who put it up for auction. It was a plush that you could buy immediately. I bought it for $30, and still have it. The normal plush is light green with a red gem in the center of its body. However, the plush I have is aqua with a darker red gem. It also had a different tush tag than the normal plush. I have pictures, and I could make a video on it if anyone is interested.
Thank you for reading this. If anyone can contact LSuperSonicQ, please try. I think this will make a good video.

And now patmac has a prototype bigs the cat plush

2:16 Employee: “I really need to sell my junk at thrift stores often. They gave me 30.27$ for that figure! I never get paid that much!”
News: “Man sees rare prototype Toysite figure at thrift store found to be worth 27,888$.”
Employee: “Aw man, I shouldn’t spent those 30$ on Mountain Dew and Doritos.”
The Prototype Sonic in the thumbnail gives me...familiar vibes...
I love your videos! Keep up the good work. :)
Thank you!
I had the original sonic (that was the picture in the title) toy that my mom had bought from target it broke tho and I don’t have
How do they make it to the thrift stores?Easy. Careless people. I'm sure not every employee that grabbed one was an actual collector. They may have just grabbed one thinking it would be cool to have and showoff. They may have died, or just lost complete interest in the process of spring cleaning and decided they didn't want it just laying around causing clutter anymore. Maybe not knowing it could be worth something. So they donate it. If they died, whoever got it next didn't want to them 'a toy' and donated it.
So, is the Sonic toy at the right on 1:31 a prototype? Because I have one (maybe multiple), and I'm just making sure
It's the one on the left that's a prototype.
HOLY SHIT I ACTUALLY HAVE ONE OF THE RARE SONIC FIGURES NO WONDER I FOUND IT ON THE ROAD
i have a toy network sonic plush but looking at its tag it says "SONIC Project"
What theme is used in this video i do know its from sonic adventure but what's the name
Funny how the Mario’s World toyline kinda evolved into the World Of Nintendo one.
I have what I think is a factory sample coin block plush from banpresto. I did some digfing and found out there are two variants. One with the modern coin block design and one based of the sprites from super mario bros on the nes. I found that the modern one which I have has less documentation and the only picture I can find of it is from the listing I bought it from. Reply if you know anything about it.

I have a prototype tag on my released toad. But how? There is probably no way somebody could mistake that for the tag that says super mario. This one had a wii game's name on it but it is so faded its hard to read.
I’m so pissed that they canceled a ocarina of time figure line

I wish that the Thomas and friends wooden railway prototype Harvey was made you should look it up
I actually stumbled across a prototype lego woody unboxed at a flea market.
can you buy them at conventions
Eh, it's a possibility, but very very slim. And even if you did find one, you'd probably be paying a LOT more money compared to on eBay or somewhere like that.
LSuperSonicQ oh
_something something prototype looks better than the final product_
