Can’t wait til the Trestles heats up. Last year had plenty Trestlrs trout anywhere from 19-23 inches and was neat seeing tell-tale marks on my ice chest starting at about 18 and going past 22 inches, all those caught on fine-azz Lunker City Shakers. Get u sum🐠🎣👍😎
Trestles already producing some quality fish, just got pic from veteran Trestles fisher to confirm what I suspected-he used live shrimp and my favorite bait happens to be ANYTHING but live shrimp!!!Anyone can and SHOULD catch a fish with a fish!!!
I thought I might run into you over there on Friday, but once I got to Hopedale I realized I was one of the only people that missed the memo on all that dang wind 😂
I was feeling sorry for myself dealing with that wind until I heard how many gnats and mosquitoes were out the next day when it was calm. Pick your poison I guess lol.
One thing you do differently from me, is that sweeping hook set. I think I’m gonna have to try and use it. I’m used to straight up over head set. I think sweep seems faster. Gonna have to break my learned habit though
I don’t know if it’s better or not, but it’s just my natural reaction. Probably the most important thing is just getting tension on the fish as quickly as possible once the bite is detected. Might be a different movement for different folks.
@@Jar_Fishing agreed. The especially the with the trout bite being so gentle lately. Like you said, they hit it and quit it real quick 😂. I may have to make the long drive down to hopedale this wk end. I’ve been going to chalmette because it’s only 1 hr from Baton Rouge. But it’s crazy because hopedale is only like another 20 miles but it adds an hour to my drive! We shall see.
@@AndyCase4921 that’s the key. I usually have to check 3-4 areas before I get on a good bite. Every now and then you get lucky on the first area. If you get a good high water day, go somewhere you’ve never been before.
A nice Cast and Blast , first at the rock wall, and then back in the marsh, what a nice looking fish, great video, Thanks for sharing.
Awesome action Jar, you caught some hammer trout
Great stuff brother 👍🏻
Thanks Steve!

Nice work. I almost went there yesterday but we went a different direction. Being we only had a few hours to fish before it got dark.

Congratulations on the 20" trout!
Thanks Jon! I felt lucky to get that one in the boat because they were acting so wild when you got them hooked.
Great video, Jared. There is nothing quite like running into a big trout.
You’re right about that!

@@williamrogers3511 Know exactly what you mean. I live in BR too and struggle with that decision almost every time I start to drive that way.
After you fished the dam, what area did you go to?
I just fished the marshes in the general vicinity. I hardly ever get more than 15-20 minutes boat ride from the marina.
@@Jar_Fishing I launched about 30 minutes after you. Went to familiar spot with no luck. I need to learn more areas.
