This is a tutorial video on how to take apart and replace the LCD screen on your LG Optimus G2. (The entire LCD+Digitizer+Glass screen assembly)
Its the same procedure and same glass screen used for all carrier models.
All models:
H815 (EMEA), H815TR (Turkey)
H815T (Hong Kong)
H815P (LATAM, South Africa)
H812 (Canada)
H810 (AT&T)
H811 (T-Mobile)
LS991 (Sprint)
VS986 (Verizon)
US991 (US Cellular)
I used the following tools:
1. Small Phillips head screw driver
2. Hair dryer or Heat gun.
3. Prying tool

VERY IMPORTANT:
There are 3 small rubber gaskets that must be transferred to the new casing. If you don't the proximity sensor may not work and it will stop your phone from working. 2 are grey, 1 black.
The black one is in between the front camera and speaker. One is to the left of the ear speaker above the vibrator motor. The last one is next to the headphone jack.
Hope this saves you some frustration. Idk why all the video tutorials leave them out.
Thanks, I'll keep that in mind!
Thanks man. You are a 100% true and nobody say that in their tuto videos.
because most of the new screend comes with them already in place
For those wondering where these are, there's one under the ear speaker, one under the front camera and one between the speaker and the front camera.
Yeah, one under the mic, one under the proximity sensor and one under the IR emettor.
There is a rubber grommet/housing where the proximity sensor sits that needs to be removed and installed on new frame. If you don't the screen blacks out when making a call regardless of proximity of phone to face.
Thanks for the tutorial. Three payments to go and the screen broke. Saved me about $70 in repairs doing it myself.
This video was a perfect match to the repair kit I had bought on Amazon. Many thanks!
Video helped a lot. Thanks - And there's also a rubber gasket thing next to the headphone jack in addition to the one by the speaker.
First time I ever changed a screen went great ... thanks for the video. lol. and i forgot the proximity sensor gaskets at first but took it a part and put them in.. was a breeze. THANKS !!! And just a note to others - the entire assembly is so much easier and just a few bucks more. I bought mine for 19 bucks online. SO EASY !!! (and i had to use reading glasses to do it) Replacing just part of it, in my opinion, is just a waste of time. No time for the nitpickers down there either.. This is an EXCELLENT VIDEO AND EXCELLENT DIRECTION. I actually used a Philips screw driver from a glasses kit and my fingernail (guitar pic works great also) for the rest.
Follow his directions !!! be careful. Make sure everything is seated right and hooked up. I ran the video over about 3 times before i put it back together. (yeah and i still forgot that little gasket so every time i made a call the phone went dark. Don't panic ! Take it apart and drop that gasket in. The gasket goes on top next to the front facing camera inside and pops out easily.
My phone was brand new and rolled over on it with my keys in my pocket. Major cracks. No warranty because i bought it to run on Tracfone. Back together and working great !!! BTW This particular phone will also work on SafeLink.
PS.. For the ease of replacement and the cost, lol ... for 19 bucks ill do it again if it breaks. The clarity is great and it works great.
Thanks for this video. Enabled me to replace my broken screen + LCD assembly in hardly any time. 👍
Thank you very much for this tutorial. My screen is fixed and working without any problems.😊
omg I can't believe how easy this looks
thanks from Brazil, just fixed my girlfriend's g4 display!
hey there. really good info. thanks a lot. I have one question, is there any difference between H810 and H812 screen part?
Can I use H810 screen on H812?
Thanks, it took me 15 minutes.. Cheers!
so my LCD is fine it's only the glass that cracked. Should I replace the whole frame or only the glass? is one easier than the other?
Ok you missed one piece in the video, you need to transfer the proximity sensor rubber with two small holes, located next to the front camera.
Onde você comprou o lcd para reposição ?
This helped me a lot! Thank you.
Thanks for posting this! I followed it exactly and I think everything is working properly. There is a comment about the proximity sensor not working if you don't transfer some gaskets but I'm not sure I know what that means. Is this the sensor that shuts the phone screen off when you put it to your ear in a call?
how to order the. lcd ang the frame plss help me tnx
Good content bro! I dropped my phone in soap water. I washed it in rubbing alcohol and dried in a bag of rice. Phone seems functional but screen got messed up.I am waiting for screen shipment then I will follow this tutorial. Thank you for sharing man!
PS Where did you buy your frame from?
Hi. Please advise if LG G4 H815 touchscreen replacement assembly is compatible with LG G4 H818P. Thank you
I replaced my note 4 and it's a pain to remove the lcd. I like the Lg that looks easier I'm getting one.. just wonder if its the G4 on the descriptions you put it as lg optimus g2?
Thank you for the great Walk Through. I just got mine back up alive, following your instructions! Of course i have a spare part left....strips of glue I presume? Yet it was a full kit, with glass attached to frame.... hehe but the phone functions fine, thanks!
Help any information on hw to get signal on a lg g4??
There is a memory card in LG G4 Cell? Thank's
A great tutorial which helped us successfully transfer the components; works great!
Very helpful video, thanks.
Ok I have been experiencing some problems with mine like one side of the screen goes completely black or colours are just distorted....especially when it heats up a lot also the pull down notification bar top of the screen keeps dropping down on its own any idea of how to fix?
My g4 818n screen fell out and broke. Bad seller. Is there a difference between the g4 screens? Can I usea 812,818 or general screen for replacement. What about the frame also. Thanks
Thanks!
worked just as planned great video
Thank you.
Hey, ive got a question. did you get the screen and frame from china or did you purchase the real screens?
thanks, much appreciated
Is it necessary to do like you in 3:24 ??
Because I bought a screen and installed it and did not work
I did not do like you in 3:24
After I did this, my camera stopped working. There is no option to even view the rear facing camera, any idea how to fix this?
i did everything ...it works but after 30 seconds the lcd shut down
thanks gameskyjumper 😀
tks very realpfull.....tks
كم سعرها ؟؟؟؟؟
וידיו מעולה, ניתן בעזרתו להחליף מסך בקלות. תודה רבה אני עשיתי זאת :)
This is a very helpful video, but I have one question. Will replacing the display fix the microphone located on the bottom of the phone?
Probably not, sounds more of a hardware problem within the motherboard separate from the screen/digitizer frame. These repairs are only good for cracked screens, if you short circuited your phone in water or blew some internal part then it is best off sending the phone through warranty with your carrier as the small phone repair shops are one trick ponies and wont have any idea when it comes to more intricate hardware pieces.
Just my 0.02
Cheers
You're right. Thanks for your input.
is it possible to replace ONLY the glass, I dropped my phone but the touch digitizer and lcd are fully functional
same question here
Any luck finding how to change the glass only?
if you do a little reading up then you'll find out you cant
hmm
Seriously.. whats the point ? It's cheap and easy to replace the whole cartridge and much easier than doing just the glass. New cartridge with screen and digitizer - 19 bucks on ebay works great.
Thanks for the video. Helpful, but you might want to change that annoying background (noisy) score.
i have a gap in the screen and the bezel of my phone... white light leaking from it... how can i fix it... phone is working properly
I did too.. the front facing camera wasn't seated correctly when first put in. It has to be taken apart and make sure you seat the entire frame correctly and it snaps into place.
Vai helf display problem
Your title is misleading. You don't show how to replace the Glass Screen as you claim. You show how to replace the screen assembly. ....two different repairs
That's the thing with LG G4, you can't just do the glass.
changing the whole assembly is much easier and the assembly doesnt cost that much got minefor 13 GBP on ebay
Hold this L.
worked for me swapping phone screens from a shattered screen to a broken loop phone
and cellular proz !
I followed the instructions. at first half the screen worked and the other half had glitches, then all the screen had glitches, and now it's all black :/
I personally wouldn't bring my phone to you after seeing this video. Your use of a metal spudger over a plastic one looked brutal when removing some of the components such as the ear speaker. Swore you were going to rip that cable. Didn't apply any double sided adhesive to the back of the vibrator motor or camera, as well as forgetting to swap over the rubber gaskets. And didn't even swap that gold sticker over properly as it is misaligned.
do you have to replace the whole front thing. Can';t you just replace the screen on top. It's such an ordeal to go through all that shit
Actually replacing the glass with the frame attached is a lot less work than getting the glass apart from the frame and the LCD panel. taking those apart sometimes completely ruins it.
It's easier to replace the glass with a full screen assembly. Most mobile devices that have had the screen replaced, the sides end up lifting due to the lack of adhesion after market adhesive is able to create along the super thin sides of the LCD.
Ok.. one more thing.. Brag Brag Brag... Awesome Awesome Awesome. Good Job !
I'm glad it helped you. Thanks for the awesome comment!
Hey, you need to give credit for the song in your intro. here is what you are supposed to put in your description "Music: "Severe Tire Damage" Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)

Witch song is it (it starts when you start to unscrew the 11 screws)? Thx
Anyone who knows which song it is, starting when he start to unscrew the 11 screws? Thx.
Why we need tools when we can use ours fingers ????
Like
That's just the front housing
REPLACE THE F KING TITLE!
do you think we are fools or what? this is not a display replacement but a motherboard replacement. rename the video and don't mislead people by misleading the video
Thanks!
