This is a tutorial video on how to take apart and replace the LCD screen on your LG Stylo 4. (The entire LCD+Digitizer+Glass screen+frame assembly)
Its the same procedure and same glass screen used for all carrier models.

Just went through with the install, everything went great and screen now works. Only downside to replacing the screen, you will have to physically transfer everything from the old screen to the new one like shown. It is time consuming and is more complicated than some other phones like the Iphones.
A few tips for people doing this replacement:
Definitely use a heat gun. There is a lot of adhesive holding down the ribbon cables, heating up the screen side where the cable is located for a couple seconds loosens it up quite a bit. The ribbon cables are very fragile and can tear easily.
Remove the battery with extreme caution, you don't want to puncture the battery at any time. Try to keep the battery flat as possible when lifting it off, bending the battery can cause damage and potential puncture. Piercing these batteries will cause them to ignite and burn. (Happened to me before)
Some replacement screens don't come with the volume and power buttons attached. You can reuse your old buttons by removing them from the inside with a paper clip. There will be 2 pieces, a white rubber piece and the button itself. Install the tiny rubber piece first then press the black button in place.
VDub In Paradise how is this simpler than repairing an iPhone screen? Have you ever seen one done? All it is is 7 screws dude😂. Two on bottom, then you take a suction cup on screen, lift, separate adhesive unscrew the cover over lcd cables disconnect then connect new screen and reverse. It’s a 10 minute job this is like a 40
ProNoob ProNoob ProNoob my mistake I put “less complicated” than “more complicated” 🤦♂️ I’ve done iPhone screens myself it is easier. This phone required the entire motherboard being transferred vs just a screen.

I did this is was not as hard as it looks the only problem is the new assembly screen keep flashing and freezing so Im going to try to figure it out or buy another one anyway if you dont feel comfortable doing it take it to the pros because you definitley need a little knowledge when taking this apart or you could ruin your phone.

Obtain a throw away or 'dead' as a door nail smartphone from eBay...then watch vids here. I have been tearing down phones now for 12 years. Learned just that way. I rebuild phones & computers for people gratis who are poor. Or elderly. I am a SW specialist some hardware as well.
BTW I am 68 years you ng.I am not missing a beat. Ok .being Mensa comes in handy after all. Not boasting but it helps me enjoy learning new skills. Now if I can just master Japanese.🧐 Didn't make me filty rich dangit.

Thank you! One extra thing for anyone that orders screen and frame off ebay, you have to remove the buttons from the old phone frame and replace into the new frame, just poke them out from the inside with the little tool that you use to remove the sim card. Be careful though, there are tiny itty bitty rubber spacers in between the button and frame, you must pull those out too and put into new frame.

Screw this whole process. If I knew it would be this much of a pain in the ass, I would have just bought a goddamn otter box for it.
After seeing this $70 is not that exensive after all.
I relized this is too complex for me after you remove the 4th connector piece.
Liked the video - very helpful. Would prefer to see the re-assembly in real time (not 8X) since this has a lot of parts and it would be easy (huge risk) to make a mistake. The fast put it back together is a mistake spoiling a great video.
***REPAIR ADVICE: My purchased phone case was missing the volume and power buttons and mini rubber plungers which I had to remove from the old phone case and replace in the new phone case. Check EVERYTHING before you seal it back up!

So my phone cracked a while back, probably mid 2019, just bought a new phone instead of fixing it, I decided to try and fix it 2 weeks ago, ordered the replacement and whatnot, felt like I was doing surgery, needed all the patience in the world to pull it off, but in glad to say I did it 😭

Bro. Save the adhesives so you can close it up correctly? WhoTF reuses adhesive? In any application? I think I will go the extra mile, spend a dollar or two and spring for new adhesive. Also in the very beginning you asked viewers to hit the like button. How do I know It's not gonna suck? It didn't. Nice job, thank-you. Question about the hot plate. Is the temperature variable and if so what temperature do you set it at? In another video I watched they injected isopropyl alcohol using a syringe and a needle around the perimeter of the battery. It looks like it dissolved that glue without applying any heat. Thanks again. I did like&subscribe. I had a little bit of time to kill and I learn something and I got to break your balls a little bit.Wish me luck I just picked up the parts to fix mine...

A good video, very helpful, but missing 3 things... remove/replace the power button; remove/replace the volume buttons; and remove the stylus cover during disassembly.
my swap was even harder I had to transfer the actual buttons and the stylus compartment cover and a plastic part in the camera compartment.... also the tape over the screen cable at the bottom..... anyway thanks for the good instructions.
Ha! You did everything except what the title says. Replace the glass. Unclear on how the glass is COMPLETELY removed.

The only thing missing is to replace the stylus housing with clip and bushing. And to replace the side power and volume buttons onto the new frame. Most new frames don't come with those already attached.
Sorry for the late response. The buttons come off fairly easy. I used the SIM card pin to pop off the buttons from the inside of the housing. Make sure you get the very small white rubber bushing too. Without that, and the buttons won't be pressable. I hope this helps.

So the rubber is sopose to stop water fron geting in. Does that mean its water resistant? I heard that it ws ip 67 water and dust resistant but im not surr
So what is wrong if after you complete this whole process and the screen is flickering? It powers on just fine, but after I lock it with the power button and unlock it, the screen flickers.

What I did was buy another phone that's locked or something in good condition and just swap the motherboards, much easier

JUST happened to me too...
If you use one of the tiny screw drivers, you can PUSH them out, BUT BEWARE. THERE IS A TINY PIN IN BETWEEN THE BUTTON AND TO "IGNITE" THE SIGNAL
@@NinjaWagz I used a thumbtack to unlock the buttons in the old frame. there's little holes at each end of the buttons on the top side of the frame and yes the tiny pins like to fly away when you use tweezers to insert then in the new frame.
Just replaced the digitizer on my son's LG Stylo 5. I purchased from Amazon. It was the same Model as the one for Sprint. Only need to go as far as 5:17 in the teardown video for the replacement item from Amazon. I noticed a couple of things not in the video, but all pretty straightforward. Tiny Speaker Cover from the front glass to go back in first to digitizer unit and the fabric like tape to secure the digitizer wiring back in place once reinstalling. So save everything until done. Also, only 13 screws. Heat is a huge MUST. Lol just about. I have to get my screen replaced. Accidently left it on the roof of my car and drove away. Back tracked and found it in the road burning up from the sun and possibly heat from tires. Im guessing it got ran over by a vehicle since I just have spreaded ink only in the middle of the screen aligned where the pop socket is. The popsocket is bent like it was ran over. The phone is still intacted. No scratches, no dents, bends, nor cracks. Phone still looks brand spankin new lol. My screen just have ink all over the middle, and spreading slowly. $120 for screen replacement 😩

Add some heat and those adhesives will give more easily, I cringe at all the prying without heat. Also that back cover will need new adhesive, used adhesive doesn't reattach.

If you go to the settings of the video you can set the speed to .25x if you can't see how to go backwards

You didn’t show me how to change the screen. All you did was tear apart the phone. Now I have pieces of the phone but still no screen
Replacing the screen in frame is really the only way to replace the screen on this phone.
Things you did not show here STYLUS cover and button, camera clip, Volume buttons. These all needed to be transfered from the old broken frame to the new one.
Volume Buttons just use a small pin on the whole sitting on top of the volume buttons.. Then push the white foam out the phone...

You forget to mention to take out the actual buttons on the assembled screen.
I had replace I phone 5, 6, 7 screen before, after seeing this video, just buy a new phone too complicated than I phone. I like my stylio.

I mean the outer push buttons you haveto dig around in the 2 litle openings by the power button and 3 at the volume rocker

Your video is very high quality yet I did not like it for one reason: IT DOES NOT MATCH ITS TITLE. You included the word "glass" in the video, and your video popped up as the first hit when I queried youtube for "lg stylo 4 glass only replacement".
The reason I'm butthurt about this is because I fucked up when buying my screen and I did not buy the digitizer. My digitizer is functional and I want to recycle it while swapping the glass and this video offers no insight into how to do that. Otherwise swapping the glass with the digitizer already put on it is quite easy.
better off buying another phone. looks like they made it to throw away after something breaks lol by how much the screen costs for 50 to 70 more bucks you can get the newer stylo5 one at walmart for $129.00. but good video to show everyone how it works

If you do this please know your phone is no longer water resistant! ..or warrantied. Just pay the 5 to 7$ a month for insurance in case your screen cracks or phone breaks. I have stylo 4+ and don't care if it breaks because it was only 150$! Loving it for the price can't beat 16mp camera and 3gig memory.

Yes before he took apart the stylo 4 it absolutely was water proof ip68. You can look that up. After a screen replacement it is nearly impossible to ensure moisture will be kept out.
And when it's broken, it's not warrantied or waterproof either, so your point is...?

A couple of important missing things in this video. For one he did not show removing and replacing the bracket for the stylo pen. The most important part was that he did not show the the on/off button and the volume control buttons had to be replaced. But that was a real hassle because there are extremely small little pegs that have to be switched out to make the buttons work. Be very careful to watch which ways these pegs go in. If you get them wrong then the buttons don't work.
