something I think u missed and is worth mentioning, he flies past all 5 elements in the space part, LSP, a fiery coloured cupcake, a slimly coloured lollipop, and an icy coloured cake slice.
The canon reason why there is massive food objects in space ,according to the adventure time title card book, is because the people from mars sent them to earth, for whatever reason. Maybe there was a famin on earth after the mushroom war?

my main concern is the other bluish and greenish (and 1 black?) people.
Why does PB have to bring them such extraordinary pies on 'back scrub day' that even she finds herself comatose in one bite. Especially when a high-tech factory and a bridge with extraordinary protection and requiring a lot of manpower were built for this purpose.
however, unlike what it does in normal missions, it sends 2 different groups in case of failure.
Lastly, let's not forget that she used to assign the strongest, most agile and intelligent candy person among those we have seen for this job.

In retrospect, I realize that episodes like this and the Duke of Nuts episode, highlight how much of a comeback civilization has come since PB built the Candy Kingdom. People who say she's an evil tyrant seem to forget how important diplomacy is to her (despite being invested in that crossword puzzle on Princess Day). She even tries being diplomatic with the Lemongrabs, before that all went sideways, and that was mostly because Fat LG was himself an actual tyrant. At least PB never put her citizens in chains and work camps.

    • @ben-chan420
      @ben-chan420 Рік тому +45

She had multiple opportunities to fix Lemongrab's mental health issues, but instead left behind the formula to candy life which led to him having tyrannical rule over a bunch of miserable lemon people. Her "diplomatic" solution was to then to try and prop up a revolutionary leader by forcing Lemonhope through all that nonsense even though he was just a kid who wanted to play his lyre. Or the time she sent just some random group of kids over there and just trusted them to be fine with the unhinged lemon men? And was somehow surprised that he'd been keeping them locked up in his castle?
I don't think PB is completely evil, but she tries to pull too much CIA adjacent nonsense to ever be good either. And while she technically doesn't keep her people in chains, she also just let the whole Lemon Kingdom suffer in them until she decided they might be a threat to her and her kingdom.
There was also the whole thing with sneaking into the Fire Kingdom to destroy the Fire Giants because again, PB saw a threat to her kingdom and instead of using diplomacy, pulled some covert ops again. And she had the gall to act like by leaving them one functional Fire Giant left she was doing them a favor.

I interpreted the last line of his speech a little differently. When he says he'll be here tomorrow to high five you yesterday, I see that as him talking about sweetness in memory. We high five usually to celebrate some achievement and the memory of that achievement can give you a good feeling. It's like he's reminding you to remember that there are good monents in life and they should be remembered especially during moments when life isn't so sweet.

I just thought of something that may support your theory,
you know how madness and sadness are the keys to magic power, but also to understanding the reality of the universe in which they live?
Tart Toter being crazy might have given him a glimpse into the way the universe really is, or perhaps getting a glimpse into true reality is what caused him to go mad.

  • @ayoobi1691

The monologue had to have philosophical meaning to it. Adventure Time is full of social commentary, innuendo, and life lessons. At first I never thought of it as referring to the the tart ceremony itself, as something controlling everyone with its extravagance and rules, but as an eloquent comment on life itself, saying that goodness can win and he will be there for every moment of it, past present and future.
Also not surprised that a video was dedicated just to the toter. The monologue had my cracking up with its ridiculousness in the moment of the episode and its eloquence.

It certainly is, and inspired by Friedrich Nietzsche. It resembles a section "the madman in the marketplace" in his book "the gay science", where a madman bursts into a public marketplace and anounces the death of god (metaphysics) and therefore the death of the decadent morality built upon it.
"This cosmic dance of bursting decadence and withheld permissions"
"Decadence", in Nietzsches terms, is any condition deceptively thought to be good, but is actually unhealthy. "Withheld permission" means a morality, which can be summed as a system of do's and dont's, or good and evil.
      "Twists all our arms collectively"
A double Ontandra meaning of the moralities grasp on all of society that is harmful
"But! if sweetness can win, and it can"
If what is good and noble in humanity can win
"Then i will still be here tomorrow to high five you yesterday, my freind"
These last parts comes from Nietzsche idea of the Ubermench(overman). Humanity will have transcended the decadent morality and we will look back on us now, in the future, and be proud of ourselfs.

There are many other hidden philosophical gems as well. Another is where jake breaks his favorite cup. The scene is set up directly resembling a passage from Epicurus's book called The Enchiridion. You might also recognize the name "enchiridion" from another episode.

He could also have tried to gwt into magic but failed and went crazy trying to learn it. There is another theory that wizards in order to gain magic have to disbelieve anything existswhile also believing they exist and that gives them their magic. If thats true then I see it possible the old toter went mad but found a weird meaning in that madness.

i don’t think you’re reaching at all. his monologue is a critique of his own society and his worlds existence, and even our own society and existences. the only thing that didn’t make sense to me was the being there tomorrow to high five you yesterday bit. it just sounded like nonsense. but after hearing your thoughts on it i realized that it had deep profound meaning. the tart toter is choosing to embody sweetness, which he truly believes can win. so when he says he’ll be there tomorrow to high five you yesterday, he is declaring that sweetness is timeless and eternal and it will always be there to guide us.

I don't fully know what it means, but when he talks about being there tomorrow to high-five you yesterday I don't think that's a throw away line for him to just be "Crazy" because that's literally how time works in AT Multiverse. Past, Present, and Future are connected. Time isn't linear in the way we think of it.
