My TPO is 2,800 no joke. But TSH, T3, T4 are fine and I have classic hypothyroid symptoms. Grandmother was diagnosed with graves and had 3 tumors on her thyroid while her thyroid hormones were fine. It’s pretty obvious you can have symptoms even though your hormones test “fine”.
A doctor gave me the wrong test and I discovered my anti-tpo was 22 (ref >9). I do have other autoimmune issues but no symptoms of Hashimoto's right now. My thyroid hormones are normal. I believe that my diet (mostly plants) - no sugar, no gluten, no processed, no alcohol, no dairy (for 5 years now) contributes to holding back my AI diseases. My diet (and exercise, sleep...) has made me the healthiest diseased person I can be :)

Very appreciated- I feel like thyroid stuff is pretty confusing and I say that as an RN and also as someone who was dx with Hashimoto's. Originally I was dx due to elevated TPO antibodies in correlation with symptoms, did the AIP diet and my TPO antibodies went back to normal and my symptoms went away. With that said, I recently had my antibodies tested again and only had positive thyroglobulin antibodies- defffffffinitely spun out for a night thinking I might have cancer. Providing the research you did and the statistics on cancer/nodules was very helpful to hear along with the reminder that it all has to be taken in context of a broader clinical picture.
I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism about 30 years ago, and I've been on levothyroxine ever since. I've had all kinds of health problems, but I don't think I've ever been tested for Hashimoto's. I'm so frustrated with our medical a.k.a. "sickness" system.
I have Graves disease went into remission November 2022 the doc took me off of methimazole. I was in remission for 1 year seen my endocrinologist April 1st 2024 now my TSH is 640 my TPO is 900 T3 T4 are in normal range getting an ultrasound on my thyroid April 10th 2024.
Thank you sir 🙏🏻for your calmness and explaining thyroid antibodies tests, you helped me calm down my nerves and focus. 🙏🏻 I just received elevated thyroglobulin ab test, waiting on the next steps.
I did have this tested the two areas of concern were the Anti-TPO 42H and Anti-TG 522.0H. I was told my WBC were attacking my Thyroid and as much to take it out. I just got the test result yesterday. The rest of my tests for this as in T3 Triiodothyronine 1.1- T4 Thyroxine 6.1--Free T3 3.1--T4 1.1 --TSH 0.666

THANK YOU! Had ultrasound due to enlarged lymph nodes and palpable mass on right side of neck. They scanned my thyroid and report shows inflammation of thyroid, increased vascular changes typical of thyroiditis. Tsh is 1.61, T3 is 1.91, T3 is 86.40, T4 is 6.7, TPO antibodies is
Please see functional medicine doc. In my case they prescribed dietary changes, parasite cleanse (after testing for parasites) and gave me supplements that much helped my symptoms. I feel normal again, even tho my anti TG is still at same level as 1 and half months ago at over 500 IU/ML.
@@reneebentley2804 they told me to take the thyroid glandular and work on healing my leaky gut with leaky guy protocol diet. I will keep you updated. But i believe the thing that helped me most in terms of symptoms was taking selenium 200 mcg, high dose vitamin D3 (with Magnesium and K2) and cutting out dairy, gluten and sugars.
First of all, I would like to thank you for this educational video. It’s one of the best explanation about thyroid antibodies. A bit about my case. My TPO Ab 1044, TG Ab 3056, TSH Receptor Ab 1,8 TSH 2,55 Thyroglobulin 1,8 I have two benign nodules (honeycomb) on the left lobe and one moderately suspicious (solid)on isthmus (TR4) 7 mm. My thyroid appears hypervascular and heterogeneous on ultrasound. I am on the strict non gluten, non dairy, non sugar and very low carb diet. I take selenium, zinc, magnesium and D3 &K2. My gut is healthy. Last three years I’ve had horrible burning on the left side of my throat, especially early mornings. I have a very mild swallowing problems. No other symptoms. I am so confused, could nodules in my thyroid cause high antibodies and burning in my throat? What should I do? Greetings from Canadian Pacific Coast.
For me it started about a year ago with viral thyroid infection (T4 at 66) which turned into subclinical hypothyrodism. For 6 months the TSH levels were slowly rising. My ferritin levels were quite low, but since there was no anemia, my doctors did nothing. So eventually in November, when ferritin was 12.8, I took an iron supplement for some time and when I checked the TSH levels in January it had gone down to normal. In the end of January, for the first time, I got tested for antibodies and Tg test was positive. TSH, T4 normal. No TPO antibodies. Thyroid itself looked fine, but they did find a small nodule. I got a diagnosis of Hashimoto's. Is it Hashimoto's? Could the antibodies go up because of subclinical hypothyrodism? I slept 1,5 months last year during summer and then for about 5 months I lost a lot of hair, but everything changed after taking an iron supplement. For some reason I think that Tg levels were much higher and for some reason I think I was misdiagnosed. I would love Your insight. Thank You!
I was tested at my rheumatologist and both came back positive. Thyroglobulin was 206.0 and Peroxidase is 413.0. Was sent to primary and he told me there’s nothing he can do. He said he would most likely wait until my thyroid is actually damaged and he’ll know which to treat me for. He said since my thyroid hormone level was ok, there is nothing he will do. Meanwhile, I’m on UA-cam trying to understand what these results really mean.
You should check your gut health if you have autoimmune disease like hashimoto's. Anti TPO and anti Thryroglobulin should be reduce to spare the thyroid from further damage. How do you reduce anti bodies? Do not eat gluten foods, avoid dairy products, avoid soy products and nightshades vegetables, avoid junk foods, avoid fried foods, fast foods, avoid sugar, and do intermittent fasting. This will reduce your anti bodies. Btw supply your body of 200mcg selenium, 30mg zinc picolinate, methyl B complex, fish oil, vit A,C,E and D3 with k2, magnisium glycinate and NAC. exercise moderately everyday 30mins to 1 hour. Avoid stress if not minimize it, have plenty of sleep
Got tested because I had classic hypothyroidism symptoms and other family members do have Hashimoto’s. Thyroglobulin and TPO both positive, but T3, T4, TSH, and TSI were all normal. Other hormones were out of whack, though. My doctor doesn’t think I have Hashimoto’s, but mostly just said my results were atypical. At this point, I just want to know what’s wrong in hopes of fixing it so I have some energy again.
