I remember that back then my PC was too slow to watch this demo, so I downloaded it from Hornet via a landline modem and asked my friend, who had a better computer, to run it. We watched it over and over again for like an hour or two. Good old times :)
Doing a flashback actually and man .... the intro, i could sing every word the intro like it was yesterday. Such a nice one! We are back is what i feel right now.
This soundtrack is timeless

@@djaccount5458 eh, the strong influence is obvious but I would definitely not call it a copy. I will say this whole demo is timeless, not just the soundtrack.
I can't really imagine its hype in 2002 :) Amazing demo.
Don't get me wrong, there are achievments in their graphically, and it's okay-ly put together... but the music simply steals the show, this needs to be said.
The Graphic was and is on my old Windows PC 16:9 and not 4:3 on newer system its again 4:3 but i view it in 16:9 and it looks much better so!
So this was peak early 2000's "multi-texture, render to texture, alphablend everything" design because, suddenly, you could implement a lot of impressive effects thanks to the exploding capabilities of high-performance accelerated 3d pipelines. During that time, the focus in the PC scene was splitting into two areas: ASD style design-heavy productions or technical coding, Farbrausch style demos. So while not technically super-impressive, the soundtrack is kicking, the design is tight and they did land 3rd at Assembly (which is no small feat). I think this also set the stage for 1995, which they released with MFX 4 years later and is easily one of the greatest demos of all time.
Not 1st place, it's 3nd place in Asm'2002, best soundtrack in scene awards ^-^
