Someone's probably mentioned it, but as a note every time Sakuya had her offensive broken was due to Dio's stand kicking in. She never saw it and (as way more people have mentioned) used her shield to read how it punches before striking at where she thought it was. Stands are a strong tool against those without them, but someone who's used to magical nonsense can at least take a guess as to what's happening after a punch or two
I mean my personal logic to it is since the touhou characters have and can use magic they'd be able to see stands cause yeah, 90% of stands are basically some sort of phantasm outside of a few like Strength. Though if we assume the logic is ironclad it still means they're present, just invisible and therefore what I said above. Let's be real, either way Sakuya has the advantage with her skillset, and Dio relies a bit on his vampirism
Well since stands are psychic manifestations of ones soul. In universe sure stand users can see stand users out o universe if you can see unseen entities or see psychic projections you can see stands.

He clearly can't hear and we see from his perspective that he can't see it, just its tracks. It's just that certain Stands can be seen by non-Stand users. Also, ghosts can see Stands.

Sakuya is actually from a popular Japanese bullet hell series called Touhou and her abilities were heavily inspired by DIO. In fact Touhou is so old but still ongoing that you can probably find references and inspiration of a lot of Japanese media within it.

Lots of stuff here that's... not accurate, to say the least... (most Touhou characters are not multiversal level, Sakuya is far from one of the smartest individuals in Touhou, the 3 knife variant observation is largely pointless)... But your conclusion is still accurate: Sakuya would win. Primarily because her ability isn't "stopping time", it's "controlling time": She can speed up the flow of time, slow it down, indefinitely halt its flow, erase pockets of time or even erase objects (and maybe even beings) from time, compress and deflate time so as to make to make several moments in time spatially exist at the same time, as well as create new timelines and invoke temporal paradoxes... Dio, in the meantime, can stop time for about 10 seconds. Sure, he is very intelligent and very strong, but that won't help him since he's still several orders of magnitude slower and weaker than Touhou's heavy hitters; most of them people Sakuya has defeated in the past.

I'd recommend Smash Bracket's Meta Knight VS Marth (and all their fights, but this is the first one) (Well, they had some fights before that, but Season 0 was more of a beta test for the series and all the fights from it are being redone anyways) Oh, and they do alternate ending videos where the other fighter wins. So uh, I think after you catch up to Demon Slayer you REALLY need to watch JoJo. I can't really say much but all you need to know is the series is the most subversive thing ever. the thing about Sakuya in this is that her time control is a lot more broken then Dio's. I believe (feel free to correct me) is that usually Dio can stop time for about seven seconds before he has to release it. I don't know the actual limit of Sakuya 's time stopping but she can also slow and speed up time.
Sakuya is also able to control the flow of time for specific objects and/or areas, hence why the last attack used here is Lightspeed "c. Ricochet", "c" referring to the scientific denotation for the speed of light. She's controlling the time of that knife to make it move at relativistic speeds from an outside perspective. Beyond that, she has no apparent limit to how "long" she can stop time. She has made bamboo flowers bloom instantly, something that can take anything from 60-120 years normally. She's able to "compress" the past and future into the present, which essentially turns a single moving object into multiple copies of itself along the trajectory it was moving. She's able to pull copies of objects over from parallel timelines, including copies of herself (though this isn't something she usually does), and she can influence the correlation between time and space to make spaces larger or smaller, something that she's constantly maintaining on a large building (the Scarlet Devil Mansion) with no apparent strain. Her arguably biggest feat, however, is from Touhou 8 ~ Imperishable Night. If you play as Sakuya and Remilia (Sakuya's mistress) then Sakuya is the one who freezes the night to allow them to investigate the Fake Moon Incident. Effectively, Sakuya stops the flow of time _almost_ entirely, without actually stopping time. The *one and only* limit to her ability is that she can't reverse time. According to her, this isn't because of her ability being limited, but because that's just how time itself works. Worth mentioning, however, is that Sakuya's ability isn't tied to her stopwatch, but is inherent to her. The stopwatch is just for style points, just like how she likes to leave playing cards behind when she stops time to "disappear". Yes, Sakuya easily wins this matchup. She is not the strongest character in touhou; there are much stronger characters. But, she is one of the stronger ones, with the ability to not only stop time, but slow it down, speed it up, (probably) reverse time, and other options. She also can manipulate space through her time manipulation(like conjuring knives), and is a very skilled knife fighter. Dio is almost certainly stronger, more durable, has crazy regeneration, and other hacks abilities like laser eyes and his stand(which is invisible and cannot normally be damaged), but the fact is that all these things ONLY allow dio to last more than zero seconds against Sakuya. To make the comparison, dio lost to a jojo character who also had a stand with time stop abilities after quite a struggle. The only character Sakuya must lose to in the main game series is Reimu, who is (at minimum) a universal reality-warper that can enter and exit into the 7th dimension. One of the main premise of the touhou series is that, because there are characters so powerful that reality would end if they abused their powers, they instead play a "game" that involves blasting each other with special magical patterns to decide the victor. And if anyone does get out of line, Reimu or other character powerful characters step in to stop terrible stuff from happening (For example, a birdbrain death god was tricked into creating a small sun in the middle of the earth, so Reimu went there are clean up the small sun and stop the death god from creating more suns.)
Gonna have to stop you right there on Reimu. Universe buster? Yes. 7th dimensional? No. She's shown no ability to travel through higher dimensions, I can garuntee you this because higher dimensional travel is a very specific ability. Reimu's ability is simply her fantasy nature, to float away from reality. It's intangibility, not her moving through a higher dimension.

It is worth noting is that while she may be able to enter(partially, even) another reality, that doesn't make her omnipotent in that reality.(like when dragon ball Z Buu tears a hole in reality, that doesn't make them able to destroy reality) Basically, because she can "float away from reality" we need to figure out what is meant by "reality" in that statement, and as a gatekeeper between reality and fantasy, it makes sense that she is floating away from "the reality that is Gensokyo into another reality", thus making her 7th dimensional.

For further reference, most of the mainline games are on Steam (if you want to suffer), just try to find Team Shanghai Alice and you'll find it (English patches elsewhere). If you wanna look for the best of the best, the OST is one of the best in gaming. A bold statement, but I stand by it. All of it's on UA-cam. And of course there's the plethora of fan animations (2D and 3D), remixes, etc. I truly believe you should dig deeper.

Even people in the Touhou fandom community tend to underestimate her, but in games like Impossible Spell Card and Violet Detector, where characters from many TH titles come together, she's consistently thrown into the tiers that include Hijiri Byakuren ( ua-cam.com/video/AntnZ07PEiU/v-deo.html ) and Reiuji Utsuho ( ua-cam.com/video/PWeH_CcTq_8/v-deo.html ).

Sure, she's not quite top tier like Yukari, Okina, Hecatia and the rest of that OP af gang, but she's still got Asterix-level strength, has massively hypersonic speed feats in canon, wields very powerful magic and is also _way_ smarter than people tend to give her credit for _on top_ of her inherent vampire powers and having the ability to manipulate fate... As a rule of thumb I tend to remind myself that vampires are noted in PMiSS to be among the absolutely most powerful species of youkai in the setting, capable of contending in Gensoukyou's power balance despite effectively only having a single representative (unlike the rabbits, kappa, tengu, kitsune and tanuki) and that Remilia is a respectable high tier character despite all of her vampiric weaknesses.

Dio has a stand and can stop time. Sakuya can manipulate time to her will, and is incredibly smart, as we can see when she uses her shield to confirm the prescene of something else (DIo's Stand) and the punches that land to tell where said Stand is. Even if it was a proper Death Battle, my money would be on Sakuya, because on top of that, Touhou characters are RIDICULOUSLY powerful.

Lots of stuff here that's... not accurate, to say the least... (most Touhou characters are not multiversal level, Sakuya is far from one of the smartest individuals in Touhou, the 3 knife variant observation is largely pointless)... But your conclusion is still accurate: Sakuya would win. Primarily because her ability isn't "stopping time", it's "controlling time": She can speed up the flow of time, slow it down, indefinitely halt its flow, erase pockets of time or even erase objects (and maybe even beings) from time, compress and deflate time so as to make to make several moments in time spatially exist at the same time, as well as create new timelines and invoke temporal paradoxes... Dio, in the meantime, can stop time for about 10 seconds. Sure, he is very intelligent and very strong, but that won't help him since he's still several orders of magnitude slower and weaker than Touhou's heavy hitters; most of them people Sakuya has defeated in the past.

the thing about Sakuya in this is that her time control is a lot more broken then Dio's. I believe (feel free to correct me) is that usually Dio can stop time for about seven seconds before he has to release it. I don't know the actual limit of Sakuya 's time stopping but she can also slow and speed up time.
Makes sense. Dio's timestop was five seconds, eleven at his peak.
Sakuya is also able to control the flow of time for specific objects and/or areas, hence why the last attack used here is Lightspeed "c. Ricochet", "c" referring to the scientific denotation for the speed of light. She's controlling the time of that knife to make it move at relativistic speeds from an outside perspective.
Beyond that, she has no apparent limit to how "long" she can stop time. She has made bamboo flowers bloom instantly, something that can take anything from 60-120 years normally. She's able to "compress" the past and future into the present, which essentially turns a single moving object into multiple copies of itself along the trajectory it was moving.
She's able to pull copies of objects over from parallel timelines, including copies of herself (though this isn't something she usually does), and she can influence the correlation between time and space to make spaces larger or smaller, something that she's constantly maintaining on a large building (the Scarlet Devil Mansion) with no apparent strain.
Her arguably biggest feat, however, is from Touhou 8 ~ Imperishable Night. If you play as Sakuya and Remilia (Sakuya's mistress) then Sakuya is the one who freezes the night to allow them to investigate the Fake Moon Incident. Effectively, Sakuya stops the flow of time _almost_ entirely, without actually stopping time.
The *one and only* limit to her ability is that she can't reverse time. According to her, this isn't because of her ability being limited, but because that's just how time itself works.
Worth mentioning, however, is that Sakuya's ability isn't tied to her stopwatch, but is inherent to her. The stopwatch is just for style points, just like how she likes to leave playing cards behind when she stops time to "disappear". The fighting style in the Touhou series is extremely heavily influenced by beauty and style. The more "meaning" an attack has, from its appearance to its name, the stronger it usually is. This is because fights in the series are _mostly_ done by something called the Spell Card Rules, which states (among other things) that one is not to use unavoidable attacks, not use lethal force, and not use the full extent of one's abilities. This ties into the setting for the series, and if I were to explain *that,* it'd turn this comment into a full-on novella, so I'll leave it at that.
Basically, if they had actually taken the full scope of Sakuya's abilities into account, then this wouldn't even have been a fight.

Yes, Sakuya easily wins this matchup.
She is not the strongest character in touhou; there are much stronger characters.
But, she is one of the stronger ones, with the ability to not only stop time, but slow it down, speed it up, (probably) reverse time, and other options. She also can manipulate space through her time manipulation(like conjuring knives), and is a very skilled knife fighter.
Dio is almost certainly stronger, more durable, has crazy regeneration, and other hacks abilities like laser eyes and his stand(which is invisible and cannot normally be damaged), but the fact is that all these things ONLY allow dio to last more than zero seconds against Sakuya.
To make the comparison, dio lost to a jojo character who also had a stand with time stop abilities after quite a struggle. The only character Sakuya must lose to in the main game series is Reimu, who is (at minimum) a universal reality-warper that can enter and exit into the 7th dimension.
One of the main premise of the touhou series is that, because there are characters so powerful that reality would end if they abused their powers, they instead play a "game" that involves blasting each other with special magical patterns to decide the victor. And if anyone does get out of line, Reimu or other character powerful characters step in to stop terrible stuff from happening
(For example, a birdbrain death god was tricked into creating a small sun in the middle of the earth, so Reimu went there are clean up the small sun and stop the death god from creating more suns.)

Universe buster? Yes. 7th dimensional? No. She's shown no ability to travel through higher dimensions, I can garuntee you this because higher dimensional travel is a very specific ability. Reimu's ability is simply her fantasy nature, to float away from reality. It's intangibility, not her moving through a higher dimension.

In DC comics, for example, the "5th dimensional" imp, mr mxyzptlk, is actually a 7th dimensional creature.
The definition of dimensions Im using is the mathematical one;
1. dimensions 1 through 3 is the dimensions of space(ie, a 3d object)
2. dimensions 4-6 is the dimensions of time(ie, a timeline is 4th dimensional object)
3. dimensions 7-9 is the dimensions of physics(ie, a different reality, such as the distinction between fantasy and reality, is 9th dimensional)
you could argue that she can float away from reality by entering a different timeline, because the description isn't particularly clear, but because she is the gatekeeper of border between gensokyo and normal (touhou) reality, that leads me to believe that is not just a manipulation of time, in the same way Sakuya manipulates time.
It is worth noting is that while she may be able to enter(partially, even) another reality, that doesn't make her omnipotent in that reality.(like when dragon ball Z Buu tears a hole in reality, that doesn't make them able to destroy reality)
Basically, because she can "float away from reality" we need to figure out what is meant by "reality" in that statement, and as a gatekeeper between reality and fantasy, it makes sense that she is floating away from "the reality that is Gensokyo into another reality", thus making her 7th dimensional.

Hey, by the way, if you're wondering more about Sakuya's native series, the Touhou Project is where to go. For newbies, I'd say Sir Pelo's The Embodiment of Scarlet Devil video. For further reference, most of the mainline games are on Steam (if you want to suffer), just try to find Team Shanghai Alice and you'll find it (English patches elsewhere). If you wanna look for the best of the best, the OST is one of the best in gaming. A bold statement, but I stand by it. All of it's on UA-cam.
And of course there's the plethora of fan animations (2D and 3D), remixes, etc. I truly believe you should dig deeper.

yeah, never mind Jojo characters, most Dragonball characters would struggle against Touhou project ones, from what I understand. take Sakuya's mistress for example, not much compared to the high tears, yet has fate manipulation. Sakuya is maybe middling, yet she has time manipulation. yeah, it gets pretty insane, if I understand correctly

Aaactually, Remilia _is_ a high tier character. Even people in the Touhou fandom community tend to underestimate her, but in games like Impossible Spell Card and Violet Detector, where characters from many TH titles come together, she's consistently thrown into the tiers that include Hijiri Byakuren ( ua-cam.com/video/AntnZ07PEiU/v-deo.html ) and Reiuji Utsuho ( ua-cam.com/video/PWeH_CcTq_8/v-deo.html ).

Sure, she's not quite top tier like Yukari, Okina, Hecatia and the rest of that OP af gang, but she's still got Asterix-level strength, has massively hypersonic speed feats in canon, wields very powerful magic and is also _way_ smarter than people tend to give her credit for _on top_ of her inherent vampire powers and having the ability to manipulate fate... As a rule of thumb I tend to remind myself that vampires are noted in PMiSS to be among the absolutely most powerful species of youkai in the setting, capable of contending in Gensoukyou's power balance despite effectively only having a single representative (unlike the rabbits, kappa, tengu, kitsune and tanuki) and that Remilia is a respectable high tier character despite all of her vampiric weaknesses.

Nah, Sakuya just uses multicolored knives. She has a knife collection I'm willing to bet, but she attacks with mostly parallel universe copies of her main knives.

Dio has a stand and can stop time.
Sakuya can manipulate time to her will, and is incredibly smart, as we can see when she uses her shield to confirm the prescene of something else (DIo's Stand) and the punches that land to tell where said Stand is.
Even if it was a proper Death Battle, my money would be on Sakuya, because on top of that, Touhou characters are

Canonically, Mewtwo belongs to Blaine (Cinnabar island gym leader of fire, first gen), because, in the manga, human DNA is required to create it. Thus, they have a bond which reaches an emotional and psychological level, kind of like twins. So much so, that if they are too far apart from one another, both of their molecular structure becomes unstable and you can see both in pain (for Blaine, it starts from his arm, because that's where they got the human sample from)
So, technically, Blaine is the strongest trainer, in Kanto at least
For the OMM of Sakuya vs DIO was the final boss theme for Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga 2 (Brahman). Which was where the protagonists were facing against the Buddhist version of God and since DIO's name refers to God in Latin... you get the point.
