unfortunately i dont think that is the case. i striaght up asked AJ if he will ever do metal again and he has no plans. He could have just been lying. but he seems pretty honest. I messaged him on instagram. this was a few months before this video
Best song on the new album hands down.....and FUUUUUUUCK WE MISSED YOU AJ!!! Him shredding on the old les paul from the Vela video hit right in the feels. The Nostalgia is real on this one.

crazy to think that THA's debut album came out almost 20 years ago and even though we don't talk about them a lot anymore, their influence quietly makes its way into so many neo-classical tracks today
They were too ahead of their time when they came out.
REALLY wish that AJ had more of an online presence. He just disappeared off of the face of the earth for all of his fans. We want to see him playing more. We want to learn from him.

The Human Abstract is goated for me as a guitarist. So glad to see him back!
This made me tear up a bit. I remember in 2006/2007, I was just STARING at AJ as an inspiring guitarist during a Human Abstract show, just awestruck, just hoping for a future in music. Fast forward to today, I'm an account manager in a large fortune 500 company and not a guitar in sight, wondering what happened. I KNEW Syncatto was special, even when I first heard it, because it reminded me of my youth. My passion.
Edit, now I'm ugly crying. 😭 please tell AJ I still have my signed Nocturne album. Charlie, im SO F'IN HAPPY you got AJ out from retirement.

Wow this was EPIC, two of my favorite guitarist ever playing together !! Nice to see AJ playing live its been awhile, AJ is an inspiration for a long time and Digital Veil was and still is the best album i ever heard, so much work and emotion in this album make it a masterpiece... i am not a pro guitarist just an advance player i did tries some songs from this album but i couldn't finish one song right, this is damn too tough...
AJ and Charlie are probably the most promising and best music creator of this era... I will follow you guys until my grave.

AJ is the reason that I learned how to play sweeps on the guitar. I can't say how many times I listened to that first Human Abstract album, but it was so foundational for me.
I can’t think of a more fitting musician to feature AJ on a tune! This video was undoubtedly a pleasant surprise!
AJ still one of the best in the game all these years later. God metal hasn't been whole without that playing.

Holy Shit what a groove that is. With so many amazing guitarists out there now, the difference is going to be in an absolute unique style, which you definitely have. I wish you would have repeated the riff from 1:30-2:00 again toward the end, but this shit is DOPE!!!
