    when we are using use the present perfect ผมกินข้าวแล้ว what does it mean ?
    " i have eaten " or " i have already eaten " ? are these sentences correct as well ?
    1) ผมได้กินข้าวแล้ว
    2)ผมได้กินข้าว
    to say "i have eaten "..or "i have already eaten "
    how can we say these 2 different meaning ? ...
    A) " today i have already eaten "
    B) "yesterday i did eat"
    maybe the word "already" is tacit ...maybe it depend on time marker
    A)วันนี้ผมกินข้าวแล้ว ... B)เมื่อวานนี้ผมกินข้าว. ???
    when we put แล้ว on the end of phrase in not continuous past tense does it mean always "already" ?
    i hope that someone will help for solve that grammatical confusion.

      Don't be worried about time marker that much for Thai language. The word แล้ว means "already" which is just meant "you did it already" If you wanna say "ผมกินข้าวแล้ว" that means "I ate it (rice or food) already" or "I have eaten already" that is the same meaning in Thai. And A)" today i have already eaten " you can say in Thai "วันนี้ผมกินข้าวแล้ว" (you're not gonna eat until the next meal) and B) "yesterday i did eat" you can say "เมื่อวานผมกินข้าว" (you're just telling somebody that you ate rice yesterday). Anyway, Using Thai language is not that strict so don't worry about it.

    8:38 There's some mistakes with the meanings;
    1) Falling tone ไม่/ไหม้ should be meaning No, Not/Burn.
    2) Rising tone ไหม should be meaning Silk

    At 8:30 you have the tones wrong. "Not" is a falling tone and "silk" is a rising tone.

    • @DieFlabbergast
      @DieFlabbergast 7 років тому +1

      Yes, "rising" and "falling" are backward in the video. It's a pity that Thai doesn't use logical, easily comprehensible names for the tones, as in Mandarin Chinese. The so-called "rising" tone is not rising at all; it is "falling-rising," while the so-called "falling" tone, by contrast, is actually "rising-falling." If they named them this way, learners would have much less trouble.

    Two things: 1) rising and falling tones seems to be mixed up; and 2) you fail to mention that the unaspirated consonants syllable initially are not natural for English-speakers to pronounce. Otherwise, this is a great introduction to a great course!
