Interesting thing i noticed about these accented rolls. The fact that the sevenstrokes, when looped fast, lose the16th note pause that is felt when it’s played at slower tempos (assuming the diddles are 16ths). Kinda one of those beautiful effects of drum phrases played “up to tempo.” All these years, when ive heard drummers play double-stroke rolls with accents, id have expected we were hearing a continuous string of notes. This is a great point, as the 6 stroke is really played as a fluid sextuplet, which makes it smooth. Thanks for the comment and watching.
