That "47" was in really good condition, considering how old it is. "NOS" stands for "New, Old Stock", meaning new original parts from that time frame , not some new part manufactured in modern times, but new, old parts used to repair/restore that bike. Just in case someone was wondering why "NOS" was in the description of a 70+ year old bike. OH, I still get a kick out of seeing pedals on an old classic motorcycle.
@tomokata The chicken and the egg was solved a long time ago... the chicken was tasty and being eaten up so it needed to increase it’s numbers to survive so it evolved and started mass producing eggs 🥚
I still have my "82" 450 Nighthawk / project now , it might be fouled carbs or a coil so no biggie . I got an "05" 750 Shadow now and I bought it for a newer bike and to ride .
I saw a guy riding around in a 1955 bmw r50 with a sidecar. Stopped by at the bar I worked at. So some people do ride around super vintage motorcycles.
Fun fact: Harley still used the Springer front end suspension on new bikes up until 2012 (HD Crossbones), however the "Softail Heritage Springer" last built in 2007 is the one to have. Aesthetically very similar to that of the bike in the vid. Looks great / plush ride / nostalgic
Dude are you serious? You've never seen a Harley Flathead with a Springer front end and hard tail? What kind of motorcycle guy are you? That's like an aviation UA-cam guy not knowing what a p51 is.
That 1947 Harley is sick. Looks almost like a Brough Superior SS100 Grand Alpine. Could become the next big cosplay thing at an anime convention, just paint it in the colors of Hermes from Kino's Journey (An anime about a person and a talking motorcycle travelling from country to country. Great anime for motorcycle people; this is liternally my gateway into owning a motorcycle, first bike is a Honda CTX700), but who want to do that to a piece of history?
So you have your giveaway setup so those with money that don't need the bikes have hundreds more chances to win it, after which they would likely ride it a few times before selling it (thousands in profit), versus the newer riders that may not have the money that could actually use the giveaway bike(s) will have only a few tickets in or be realistic to not even bother entering, knowing others will have hundreds or thousands of tickets.
@Mike K4ISR Technically it’s not a giveaway... it’s a raffle because you gotta buy his shit to get a ticket. Giveaways are free to enter no purchase necessary...sure he’ll figure that out when he gets sued one day 😂
That Green Airbrushed bike is LOUUDDDDDD same with the Orange and reddish one They rode past me when I was driving home from work and they were cursing at 50 and we’re slowly going past me then they just ripped it and I was laughing cause how loud they were.
CB 700 SC was THE sport bike before the GS750E came out. President Reagan put a tariff on imported bikes larger than 700cc at the request of HD so Honda came out with this one. Bullet proof and very fast, the cost now what they did new. Somebody will snap that up at s$2000. 10/10
Ok, several things, one, that front end is called a springer front end. Yep, you guessed it, because the springs are exposed. It does work very similar to the cantilever front end the BMW's use as in it doesn't brake dive like telescopic forks do. The rearend is a hardtail as you suggested. There is no suspension, the seat is shock/spring mounted(nick named pogo stick) As for the "VIN" it's not. That is the model, it's a 1947, hence the 47, WL W being a flathead, or side valve. Instead of the modern configuration where the valves are... wait for it, over the head, the sidevalve has the valves... beside the piston moving up and down, in what would look like an upside down configuration. and L is for low compression. You kinda sound... "noobish". Love ya yams
I dont' think on patreon there is this rule "New owner must live within the contiguous 48 states of the United States of America. Any entrant living outside these bounds will not be eligible to win" =s
I'm really surprised a craigslist connoisseur like yourself has isn't familiar with Nighthawks. Basically sportier shaft driven CBs. They're all over craigslist here.
Mobility scooter price kinda makes sense.. I mean it is "medical equipment" and generally needs to be reliable. I see some people riding some beat up old scoots around the city with full confidence in them
Seriously, what the hell is so godawful about the ninja 250? Since 2008 it has been the best looking of all the 250cc sport bikes available at the time! Highest HP, fastest 0-60, best gas mileage, etc. I have given this video a like and left a comment. What I would really like is if you want to continue to hate on the bike, at least lay down some legitimate reasons and numbers to support your hatred! For context I have outgrown it tbh and intend on selling but I still wouldn't have chosen any other bike to learn on knowing now all the other options that were available.
With good maintenance and a rebuild when necessary, there isn't really a limit for many motorcycles. You will be able to gauge how fucked up it is by working out how much care was taken, service history, owner's character can be a giveaway. TLDR; 90,000km or 55,000miles is where the engine is going to need some work, but I wouldn't say "too many" until there is irreparable damage.
@@vector6977 yes, check out the foot clutch on the left hand side. along with the shifter on the tank. I tried to buy a 1954 HD with sidecar that had this set up, long ago.

That 47 the swingarm doesn't move all suspension travel in the rear is done by your seat lol.
Alien8eD1 and he doesn’t know what a springer front end is lol
Ouch... is that safe? Or even remotely comfy?
Not bad comfort wise. Yeah it's safe.
Also nos stands for new old stock
@Truck Stuff & More He’s a noob and still hasn’t realized you type NOS but you say New Old Stock... you don’t read it as nos 😂
Its like the chicken/egg dilemma. Did power lifters or stretched busas come first?
@tomokata The chicken and the egg was solved a long time ago... the chicken was tasty and being eaten up so it needed to increase it’s numbers to survive so it evolved and started mass producing eggs 🥚
XRAYRON dinosaurs laid eggs. Your point is invalid, have a nice day.

I was honestly surprised by his grade on the 47 Harley grasping history. Solid.
Yeah but that Ninja has PINK WHEELS
Looks like this girl flying to Cleveland!
🤣
"Springer" front ends are popular among bobber bro's. I love em

LMAO @ the mobility scooter with an odometer 😂😂😂
Just what I needed on a Monday morning!
As for the swingarm on the vintage Harley, its callwd a rigid frame. There is no swingarm. And 47WL is not the VIN number, its the year and model.
Yessss my Monday morning is completeeeeee
That green 'busa is my listing!!

Yam, hit up other Midwest cities like St. Louis, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, etc...
Totally surprised that the Busa boys have not tracked you down with the Harley cruiser dudes and set fire to your neighbours lawn again
you really need to do a uk ebay version
Nice girder fork on that old Harley
How about a Uk version on Gumtree (our version of craigslist)
Thanks again, love the CL videos.
Hahaha live here in CLE and have been hitting craigslist hard for wheels for about a month. About to pull the trigger on a bobber from MI
I love how he has a cold in the middle of summer in Texas 😂
Bailey Caudle too much time in that AC
Hardtail springer... my style
Should do one of these on Albuquerque NM!

Residents of CLE we have to raid the whale building. It’s up to us.
Haha wow that ninja is from the next town over from me lol
Can you check out the Orlando listings? There’s more than enough wretched bikes here
Also, depending on where you’re located I’d love to let you make a video on my 2019 vmax ;)

It's called a Springer fork and the seat springs were the rear suspension lol

the HD is a Hardtail, no suspension in the rear at all, the front end is a Springer, people still have those on bikes today, they are still made.
