Here's my take on the album that no one asked for:
So she's mad at Joe for moving on and she cheated on him in her mind with Matty and then she moved on with him publicly so Joe reacts but he didn't? And then she actually was in deep shit with Matty and he ghosted her too. And according to me in this album, she doesn't care what any of her fans think. She was like, "You guys thought you knew me, but you don't even know 1% of me and never will."

Girl all I said was “ant predicted this!” On TikTok, and they’re accusing me of BULLYING HER. 😂 her fan base needs therapy.
I noticed the huge shift since she broke up with Joe. I have the opinion she's pushing herself so much just to prove "she's not in the wrong". The relationship with Travis seems rushed, as well. Dunno, but as her fan for 16 years, she has been the strangest so far. Midnights is the weakest album she's created, kept adding songs "From the Vault" for a whole year and it was nuts. Especially after releasing the song You're losing me, I had a gut feeling she was trying to put all the blame on him. Joe just kept getting the punches, and still moved on and kept living his life. I bet she's mad he's not reacting.
Just create an album + deluxe edition and stop there. Also, using her exes to push them down and bring herself up is so childish nowadays. Just play with poetry and stories like in Folklore and Evermore and leave the bois alone. Those were the best albums.
I told people the other day how strange midnights was for me as a long time fan because of this exact reason. It was really felt like she was never happy with the final version of the album. I truly think this reading is accurate in that sense. Midnights did not give what she wanted it to.
Completely agree. Since her and Joe broke up she seems desperate to prove something,most likely to herself. Midnights was weird because at that time she was still dating him yet she said the songs were about her past. I always wondered how Joe felt about Taylor supposedly singing love songs to her exes,guys who she broke up over a decade ago.
Also as a fan I though that now she was going to focus her music into telling stories instead of her love life,so it felt weird. Once I listened to the album,I couldn't help to wonder if in reality it was a break up album about Joe, and now in retrospective it seems like it. She knew they were going to break up.

TS is a control freak & imo Joe just wouldn't be controlled by her anymore. imo their relationship was contractual for PR purposes & he didn't want to continue the public PR charade anymore, or being subservient & ordered around by her. imo the sudden breakup was more like she assumed he would renew their PR contract for another year & he actually ended the relationship by refusing to renew, cos it sure seems like she was the one who was taken by surprise by the relationship ending. Exactly. Just read some of the emails her dad sent that were released as part of a lawsuit with one of her former managers. It seemed like he viewed her as a product and was whining about not getting any of the glory for himself when he was doing things to try to further her career. And the resentment he clearly had for her mom was 😬. I’m sure not many people turn out well adjusted when you’re “the brand” instead of their child.

I also think it’s to feed the narrative by fans that Joe kept her locked up and was controlling, so people turn against him without her having to explicitly say that, because it isnt true. He probably did but because she couldn't just chill and drop the need for constant public attention- or maybe she couldn't go deeper into a real adult relatiomship- or he realized they just were meant to be together long term and pulled the plug. Listen, I’m a swiftie and according to his camp she did get dumped. From what his team said after the breakup he was feeling like they needed space and since she was preparing to essentially tour for two years straight he told her it would be the perfect time for them to take time and reevaluate the relationship and according to mutual friends she fully expected him to reach out to reunite before the tour even started that’s why her set list suddenly changed right after the announcement of the breakup, she was still hopeful they would get back together. I guess bc he hadn’t reached out she decided to go through with the breakup announcement even though they’d been apart since early February. It makes sense according to ants other readings on their relationship, and Taylor’s own lyrics about their relationship. She constantly sang about taking past relationships traumas on him and essentially accusing him of things he hadn’t done, starting fights and being over dramatic and him being patient time and again. Just listen to the songs afterglow and the Great War it’s all you need to know about how the relationship went. She constantly started fights and he forever was trying to reassure her and fix things. I love her music but I do believe she is not over him and used Matt Healy for a month to show Joe he could be replaced easily and when he didn’t come crawling back and Travis showed interest she jumped on it to try to get over it. It’s obvious to me so glaringly obvious that the thing with Travis is the most public rebound we’ve ever seen. It’s like that saying happy people don’t have to say they’re happy, but she’s been trying to prove she’s happy for months. I don’t buy it.
She returned back to tour today in Tokyo and she told the crowd that she was going to announce at the show if she didn't win a grammy - so I think you're right she didn't expect to win

This was weirdly validating for me. I thought Midnights was her weakest album to date lol. And the fact she won a Grammy for it was a little weird.
Midnights wasn't her best but not the worst, Lover takes that slot. It's not weird, she has a good relationship with the recording academy. If you are curious look up the Swiftologist he has videos going into this.

SOS deserved that award 100x more than MIDnights did. SOS had an actual cultural impact and significance. I wanted Lana to win but SZA was definitely the one who should’ve won the award.

She didn't want to go to therapy, and denying therapy is also a sign of a narcissist-denials of convenience-because of their inflated self-importance cannot tolerate feelings of shame or criticism and cannot take blame for their actions. When they admit wrongdoing, it brings up hurt and negative feelings. They lack accountability and use blame-shifting in their actions (sounds familiar eh?) It would be difficult for her due to her inability to look inwards, take accountability, and be vulnerable. Her desire to manipulate and control situations won't let her.

So instead of engaging in self-reflection and finding ways to improve her flaws like a mature person, she viciously attacks anyone who criticizes her to nullify this threat to her sense of superiority.
I find it strange that she showed a lot of support for Olivia Rodrigo from a distance but she still wouldn't approach her to talk or take a photo. Feels like PR move. Not a real friendship. Also, she might stay with Kelce for PR as well. People are obsessed with them dating right now. I really like Taylor but her desire for revenge/praise is her tragic flaw. During the Grammys, Jay Z was receiving an award and started ranting about why his wife didn't win any album of the year awards. Similar to Kanye and his rant about why didn't Beyonce win album of the year. Taylor won both those years. I am not a Swifty, but I do own one album "Reputation" which was harder hitting. That album should have won album of the year. Beyonce is not my cup of tea either but she is talented. There's no album or song that even deem worthy of that award. Jealousy is an evil thing...

You’re right. The first thing they spoke about after her win was how rude she was to Celine, and that set the tone. Personally I think she was just caught in the moment and it’s not like she hasn’t met Celine before, people taking it out of context. That hate is inevitable though, you can tell it’s slowly coming and to be quite honest, it’s kind of deserved. I feel like it actually humbles her which sounds bad but in a way it does, after 1989 when she took that break she came back better. Midnights was not an album of the year winner for me, it’s just not good enough sonically, or lyrically except those few tracks. Thank you Aaron Dessner. Jack Antonoff, as great as he is, working with Taylor so often is also annoying cos everything sounds the same. What on earth happened to the re-recordings he worked on. Aaron I feel brings out a different side to her. Something about Taylor this era has been off, the way she associates with anyone, I know she’s trying to be supportive but she would typically only let certain people in her circle and I’m not even taking about her real circle, just the public social circle . @sillygoose-bf7pp I agree if she did that it would show an human side to her which has been absent for a few years, I used to be a die hard fan since 2008 and now she looks like Taylor Swift the brand not taylor swift the human, everything she does is calculated and planned, nothing is ever natural or spontaneous it's like she's not a person anymore, she is just her name. She has to have control over everything and draws a huge line now even to her fans, she looks heavily distant (and unreachable in a 'powerful queen'-like way) in a way I've never seen her act before and it seems only her old fans realise that she's been acting weird, the rest are buying whatever she chooses to throw at them. I wish she did therapy and became more self aware like truly self aware not her idea of self awareness "bla I'm crazy and unhinged" yeah but why don't you reflect on all that? truly reflect, deep down and WORK on it. No doubts she is talented, I bet great art would come out if she looked into herself and matured as a person. Joe was raised by a mother in the mental health field and must have been paying attention to dinner conversations at home. I admire Taylor’s good friend Ed Sheeran for his talent and his ability to balance his family and professional life. I heard him in an interview where he said he works 9-5 weekdays and only performs concerts on weekends to have time with his wife and children. He releases one album a year. I love his music as it has emotional depth like him. Earlier in his career during an interview he was being encouraged to stay single and focus on his work. I can’t remember exactly what he said but he clearly communicated he was getting married and having a family. I have mad respect for him and his work.

Honestly good on Joe for not being sucked in by petty behavior. The best revenge is always to continue to thrive on your own. I just watched Taylor's 2022 commencement speech at NYU, and she said that she grew up being drilled into her head that she "had" to be perfect, otherwise the world would crumble and fans' lives would fail if she was not the perfect person for everyone. She seems completely aware of this trait/fault. I think it's an ongoing process for her, to learn who she is and gain control over that part of her life. I also feel that she lives her life in a "performative" way, and maybe that's why people view her as fake or disingenuous. Probably plays into being a people pleaser perfectionist. JUST MY OPINION.
