This video had me tense. I’m so glad none of these girls locs broke off. Years ago I did a stupid thing and wanted to go from red to blonde locs and let me tell you. I did not do my research. I’ve been bleaching my unloced hair for years so I thought I knew what I was doing really saturating everything. Little did I know that I was only meant to lightly coat the loc so it didn’t saturate through. Nope I rubbed that bleach as deep as I could into my locks so the red would really come out. And I did this process repeatedly. Ofcourse I never really managed to get the bleach out of my locs properly no matter how thoroughly I washed it. The hair eventually fried and crumbled into almost dust. There was breakage everywhere all the dreads snapped and I learnt my lesson. 5 years later my locs are long healthy, natural colour and untouched by bleach
I love how diverse your channel is and how knowledgeable you are on black peoples hair some white people don’t know nothing about black hair but you are the bomb dot calm for being so knowledgeable and being able to help everyone learn something about dying their hair no matter the race or texture. That second girl, if she didn’t want people commenting and having opinions on how she does her hair, why would she videotape it and put it on youtube for the world to see? 😂
Thankfully I am not the only one to find it weird 😅 I mean, she was aware that she wasn't following the "textbook" bleach application and she said it but she did it in a very defensive way that came out almost arrogant (maybe she had very bad comments on a previus video?)... still, amazing result!
They can I try not to like let that soak in. I just want a little bit so that my color pops and I just did mine for the first time with bleach. I only left it on for 30 minutes. Didn’t even leave it on for the full-time and I won’t be doing it for the next two yearsuntil I cut it all out and I need the color to pop again you know

I Loved to bleach my Locs and color them pink, purple and blue. It was very dry afterwards but I LOVED the colors 😍 The biggest issue I had was that when I combed my Locs out, the bleached hair literally broke off in my hand as I combed the loc out. So, not sure if it was totally worth it since I lost 6 years worth of length.
Do you think it could have been hair that already shed and just stayed in the locs? I've heard that that's what happens when you brush out locs; all that hair that comes out is just what has naturally shed as hair does, but it worked itself into the locs and just stayed there until it was brushed out.

I've used his color on my locs and it was amazing texture wise and color pay off after bleaching. I’ve used super pink which is my favorite and mixed super red and purple together too. I would love to see your video on trying his color line!
I was just thinking this. I love how versatile Brad is with all hair💜
Thanks brad
Same sisssssss. Like is it loc friendly?!?!?
Just had your channel pop up on my UA-cam recommendations. I have to say that I really love how you model positive reinforcement to everyone even when they make “mistakes“. I have never heard you make fun of anyone on any of your videos. As a social worker, and just someone who strives to be a decent human being, we need more people like you who display a positive and supportive energy and outlook. We need more people like you on the Internet!
I’ve colored my locs multiple times. It’s green at the moment. My loctician advised using Dark & Lovely blonde dye instead of bleach. Then you can add your semi-permanent dye. Much less damaging.
No idea if this works but it definitely deserves visibility
@@seregiel9541 def works, you might need a lot boxes though that’s the only downside😭
@@yannahlocdnloaded I meant I'm white as hell, but hair tips seem to get buried for those in need. I was trying to "boost" the comment. 😂
Edit: I understand the infinite boxes though. My hair EATS dye.
I use the clariol texture and tones and is also great. No damage but my hair wouldn’t lighten with DarknLovely
Thank you for this! I want to strip my green so bad
Hands down my favorite shirt you've ever worn, and possibly the most beautiful fabric I've ever seen!
LOVE IT!!!
The girl with the pink locs SLAYED. She said mind the business that pays you I got this. Period sis
I love these hair fail videos. It makes me feel better about my hair. It's also good to see wins. Let's go!

I have so much respect for you for calling them locks I really appreciate how much respect you have for people
I have been watching Brad's videos every night before bed lately. His voice is so calming and I just love his content ❤
I love how diverse your channel is and how knowledgeable you are on black peoples hair some white people don’t know nothing about black hair but you are the bomb dot calm for being so knowledgeable and being able to help everyone learn something about dying their hair no matter the race or texture. I hope you’re rich because if you’re not you should be ❤
That second girl, if she didn’t want people commenting and having opinions on how she does her hair, why would she videotape it and put it on youtube for the world to see? 😂
She's only there for the compliments
@@Duifjaah that’s what it seemed like 🤔
Thankfully I am not the only one to find it weird 😅 I mean, she was aware that she wasn't following the "textbook" bleach application and she said it but she did it in a very defensive way that came out almost arrogant (maybe she had very bad comments on a previus video?)... still, amazing result!
cuz she knew what she was doing and didn’t need uninformed people speaking on stuff they aren’t professionals at. Clearly cuz her hair came out great.
@@azazel1211 ….but he’s a liscenced hairdresser, he’s definitely informed.
Love Brad's kindness and advice, even with the fails. He's so here to help, and let us know we're beautiful 💜
I love you so much for picking black girls so I can reasonably know what to expect w my own hair. THANK YOUUUU 😍🙌🏾
This crushed blue velvet on you is giving me life 💙 all the love to you boo!
11:25 hey Brad you can definitely break locks off with bleach. It makes the locks stretchy and they kinda rip apart.
They can I try not to like let that soak in. I just want a little bit so that my color pops and I just did mine for the first time with bleach. I only left it on for 30 minutes. Didn’t even leave it on for the full-time and I won’t be doing it for the next two yearsuntil I cut it all out and I need the color to pop again you know
I love that you teach us women, all women, about our Hair!! This is what we need a person who teaches us the correct way to go about IT! ❤️❤️ You Mondo!
Brad you are GLOWING! Also i freaking love your vids, even when you are telling them what they did wrong, you are being so nice.
The girl that didn’t want critiques/ constructive criticism is the definition of ignorance is bliss
These are the videos I look forward to & you never disappoint Brad your videos make my day 😂❤️

🤣🤣🤣
That pink is GIVING!! Thank you SOOOOOO much for reacting to a loc video!! Also just different hair textures in general! I’ve watched so many of your videos and this is the first one on locs that I’ve seen…or maybe I missed one! 😂 either way I love them all!!! 💕
Knowing that trained stylists also just doo whatever to their hair makes me feel so good!
I am not a pri, just a "change my hair with my mood," kind of girl, and also keep abusing my hair. Thank you mom for awesome hair genes!
i wanted to see the first girl with a retwist so badd!!! i just knew she could make that hair color look so good
Brad Mondo: “we all love a good sectioning!👏🏻”
We all: we love Brad Mondo loving a good sectioning 👏🏻
Im watching your videos while I'm sick and they make me feel so much better. You're made of positive energy and it just radiates. I appreciate you and your content. ❤
Oh my goodness! I give these girls credit because I can't imagine how long these processes take! The second girl's final results is absolutely insane in the best possible way. Way to go!
Brad Mondo is the only guy who can say "hey beautiful", and make me actually believe that I am. He makes my days so much better 🥰
My locks are past my butt. I've been thinking about coloring them. This has given me major reconsideration 😬

Jus dye Barely the tips first, great way to pop color witout giving into too much possible damage
how long have you had locs? 🤔
@@w0ah 16 years
Mine are waist length and I started off with dyed hair. I haven't dyed it in 2 yrs..I have less breakage and healthier locs 😌
I always love how Brad talks about hair period, but especially coily and kinky textures. It’s informed and informative, even if these folks are doing so wrong by their strands 🤣
I volunteer as tribute if you'd like to experiment with coloring locs🤣 But seriously, the last girls hair came out so cute! It's definitely a vibe and now I want to get my locs dyed
That last girls dreadlocks were beautiful 🤩 the two tones color just popped
Hi Brad!!! What an awesome day. Got my Brad video, the Welsh twins, Robert and James. Love it!!!
🤣😂🤣 I saw the thumbnail and just started laughing. I had to go watch.
Brad just had to tell you that I think you're freaking amazing and you brighten my day whenever I watch your videos! I just got a bunch of your haircare line and I can't wait to get them and try them out! Thanks for being you!
PLEASSSSEEE DO MORE OF THESE SPECIFIC VIDS! Im trying to get the confidence to dye my butt length locs im so scared think theyll just fall off mine already already small
The second girl looks so great!! I love that color so much! Plus I liked her attitude lol
This is why I love you Brad. Your knowledge on any hair type is a gift, I am so here for it
I want brad's blue velvety shirt its so cute and it looks super soft
I like how you’re nice about it and not being mean to these people. I can watch videos like this all the time.
I would love for your videos to be about 5-10 mins longer. I love your content.
Yes I agree! Would be nice to see like 4 different people bleach experience
can i just say that this video appeared on my recommended as “hairdresser reacts to people dying….” so i’m very relieved
The fact BRAD is saying LOCS instead of DREADS!!! Is the reason why I love him!
EDIT: all you white people making this post about white people when I’m literally talking about African Americans proves how self-centered and you are. THIS POST IS ABOUT AFRICAN AMERICAN LOCS AND WHY WE STOPPED SAYING DREADLOCS.
I fell inlove aswell😂
If you don't mind, could you please explain to me why the difference is so important? (I am italian and we have a completely different word)
@@Basilissa_Sunight “dread” is a term used to call our hair dreadful. It’s dated and insensitive so people lean toward saying “locs” now 😊
@@adriethealchemist I never knew! thanks for sharing!
@@adriethealchemist Thank you very much! I thought they were called "dreadlocs" in english but it never really striked to me the "dread" part!
I was having a rough mental health day and watching you helped so much, thank you Brad.
Did you use protein binders in the bleach too? I wonder if it's makes difference for locs
Do you think it could have been hair that already shed and just stayed in the locs? I've heard that that's what happens when you brush out locs; all that hair that comes out is just what has naturally shed as hair does, but it worked itself into the locs and just stayed there until it was brushed out.
brad you’re literally the best i know the black girlies love you, so informative on hair and very respectful much loveeelove ❤❤❤
We are being spoiled with Brad content and I’m so grateful. Hope you’re doing well man 💜💜
I normally can't stand dreadlocks, but that pink pineapple was wonderful and her attitude was priceless.
I've been dying my locs for years and seeing people be scared as shit as most people think one bleach job will give them platinum 🥴 locs are definitely more difficult to dye and bleach
should i dye my hair before locking it up?
brad... okay.. first, i love your videos ,, youve inspired me to be a hairdresser "when i grow up" since the first video of yours that i saw when i was about 9 or 10 .. im 14 now and i used your tutorial to cut the most amazing curtain bangs on my bsf, i can dye my own hair pretty good,, your videos have helped me not give up even when i get super frustrated and dont think i can do it.. i just want to say THANK YOU SOOO MUCH for just existing ,, and making peoples lives better..
The dope thing about locs is that if one falls off or gets torn off somehow it can be put back on!!
Lol what??? Like a regenerating worm?? That’s bonkers.
@@ohjordyn8312 There's a technique that is used to reattach the locs . . Idk what its called tho 😁👍🏽
@@ohjordyn8312 no they reattach your real hair to your roots using a hair needle
I just wanted to say thank you for your energy today
It’s the anniversary of my daughters death today she was killed by a drunk driver 8 yrs ago she was 10 and I’ve been struggling all day , your smile and energy has lifted me up a bit .
I helped my old cosmetology teacher color her extension locs. And she taught me to really saturate the lightener into the locs like the second girl
I love what the second gurl did with her hair, such a beauty!!!
WE LOVE YOU BRAD!!!! I’VE NEVER CLICKED SO FAST!!❤️❤️❤️
Everyone needs a friend like brad 😭❤️
Brad - you should have a team who responds to SOS calls. When people are in this situation, they can call your team for immediate advice. It may lower the amount of videos for you to review, but people would be able to salvage their hair quickly lmao
Literally
DAYUM Brad you look FIRE in this video! How did I miss this one?? YAAAS
I had my hair braided my freshman year in college and I LOVED IT!!! Then PCOS came in and slapped me and my hair started falling off lol…it was horrible watching my braids fall out. It wasn’t too tight, I had issues with hair loss before hand and that was part of the reason why we braided it, but things progressed quickly with my health and whole braids were just coming out…very similar to when my hair fell out from chemo recently. Just…yeah. I’ve wanted to braid it again since my hair grew back after chemo…I may do a partial braid.
Brad, longer videos please. I can’t believe your video is already over. Please!!
I just really appreciate your referring to this hair/lifestyle as locks as opposed to "dreads." Thanks for that! Awesome reaction vid.
“Maybe she wants that … IDK” 😂😂😂😂 literally me! Minding my business
This top looks gorgeous on you!
Heyyyyy so I just wanted to say your videos are my go to videos for those nights where I am feeling overwhelmed or anxious and need to turn my brain off for bed because they are always so light hearted and your personality is just calming but also makes me feel…safe? That’s kind of weird to say but it’s true! Haha anxious people know that when you’re anxious, you don’t want to watch anything stressful. So thanks for your videos!! Thanks for being uplifting and funny!
I always hoped you would do another video just for locs! Thanks for rocking with us, been a fan since forever 💘 I would never bleach my locs, but I have used developer to go red!
I often get frustrated with UA-cam for adding random videos that have nothing to do with anything I watch into my feed. And now I’ve found another channel that I’m going to binge watch.
Yes!!! I've been waiting for a video like this! I've been locked pretty much my whole life. It is definitely delicate surgery keeping them colored and healthy. They will definitely get gummy/slimey and snap off with too much bleach.
**mine are currently ginger with blonde highlights.
Oooh Brad im definitely the loctician that uses my own locs as a "practice dummy" 😂 I learn how to do it to mine then im mastered by time i do it for a client.🤷🏾♀️ So yeah Ive had some of my locs fry & fall to the floor. Although NONE OF MY CLIENTS HAVE 🤞🏾💯
Just made my day I would love to have Brad do my hair ❤️ 😆 xxx
Brad mondo, as much as you might hear this: you absolutely make my day! You’re my comfort UA-camr and you basically taught me how to cut/ color my hair! THANK YOUU!!
I bleach my hair with no gloves because I'm BLIND Brad, it's the only way I'll know that I got everything, I wear gloves I have spots, no gloves perfect application. So what if I burn my fingerprints off? All the better to commit CRIME with
I love this comment 🤣🤣
Sometimes it makes your fingerprint more individualized because you're gonna have patches of no ridges
So curious…! A lot of Brad’s videos revolve around audience viewing hair/color. Do you use some type of software that describes the visuals? Or do you just love hair and Brad?
I love the chaos here way too much!
If your blind how can you type?
I'm watching this at night, and I put the brightness on my phone's screen at minimum, but you are still brighter than the sun
You referring to them as “locks” makes me want to subscribe 1000x over.
“I have a hard time keeping my comments to myself. So I apologize”
Same brad..same.🤣
