Worked Flawlessly. For those who don't find Projecting to this PC option in the Dialog, Go to Settings - System - Projecting to this PC. If it's greyed out, click the above install feature button and add Wireless display, I had to this as well.
@@crazynachos4230 A year late, but you also need to go into "Projection Settings" via start menu and enable projecting to this pc (it's the screen with the 3 drop down bars you can see at 6:21). If your hardware isn't compatible you then click the blue text to launch a connection app

This is sick. I turned my convertible tablet with pen into a duplicate of my primary monitor and now I can highlight and write in one note using a pen instead of a mouse. There is a bit of a lag, and its a little redundant looking down at the smaller screen and finding the part I want to highlight again, but it is still really cool. I have a second monitor as an extension to the left as well.

I bet you completed your comment in under 10 seconds where it took years for somebody to teach you how to do it. Teaching usually takes more time than actually doing it, especially if you are a slow learner.
I was able to extend my display onto the secondary laptop - THANK YOU! So helpful when I travel, as I generally have two laptops with me. Problem: The sound moved to the secondary. All I had to do was go to Settings, Sound, choose the primary computer for output. Easy fix! Now to try it with a presentation!!
Happy to know that. I always took a HDMI-cable and plugged it into a HDMI-to-USB Converter (Elgato Camlink but cheaper) and let OBS run in preview-mode on the Laptop, so it shows what the Main PC wants to show on its third Monitor. It works because the HDMI-to-USB Converter is identified as a monitor by the Main rig.

I don't have much experience with adjusting the volume when projecting to a display, but my first thought is to make sure the volume is turned up on both devices.
Hey! go over to your volume icon in the bottom right, left click, and hit menu displayed above the volume slider and select the device you want to be connected. Windows is funny like that sometimes lol sometimes it messes with you audio device. Hope that helped:)

Great tutorial, the only disadvantage of Miracast is its lagginess. I have a powerful connection, Wifi has a separate channel but still lags that it cannot be used - latency and quality of transmission is too bad.
@@dianasandoval5317 If ur connection is ok then nothing. U can try a cable miracast but it is a bit hassle to do so.... generally the whole miracast is not reliable. Sometimes it works even smoothly, while in a moment become laggish.

Well following the recent update wireless display is an optional feature in windows in order to enable it Go to settings -> dispaly -> projecting to this pc -> optional features -> add feature -> search for "wireless dispaly" and install it .

Edits: The odd thing is, I was able to get them to connect yesterday night for a while until I disconnected them before bed. I don’t know why all of a sudden my Desktop is no longer compatible. My laptop even showed the red message shown at the end of the video and my laptop and desktop still paired. Any help would be much appreciated. TY
I have the same problem. For Miracast you required a WIFI adapter in both devices to work that support Miracast. A dongle would do the trick however. Wish you luck.

Could you connected an Ethernet cable directly from the desktop to the laptop and use a local network instead of wifi? That should get rid of a lot of the lag if possible, imo
@@tenasialuberg2835 it's pretty simple. Just connect the two computers (desktop and/or laptop) with an Ethernet cable and do what the guy in the video did. On your main pc, open up the notification bar (button next to the show desktop button on the taskbar), click on connect pc and then the name of the pc you want to connect to (might take a minute to show up) and that's it. After a while, I wanted to have cable connection to my wifi so I bought a network switch and have all of my devices connected to that and this still works perfectly fine.

I did this hard-lined into my laptop to the modem as well as my desktop hard line, and it worked just fine

Awesome works well as of 23 October 2021 and it also doesn't require an intenet connection , just a wifi network is required

Check your laptops graphics card/integrated graphics model then download the latest drivers for it. This should fix it

@@azophi I did end up doing it. Works pretty well actually. The only thing is that the laptop should have it's wifi turned off, but that's about it.
