As an 81 year old retired lawyer in the U.S., I've never heard about this woman, but if I were a prosecutor, I would all over this case. Whatever she may be charged with, she has admitted she is guilty. She is living in this internet society that believes they are the center of the world. They are terrible idols of the young, and they don't care as long as money and fame are theirs. It is a delusional world with terrible results for the young.
This video of hers could easily back fire against her. It is true that most don't care about her, and don't want to be on the jury, if she is charged, but they do care about children, and there are conservative prosecutors, who use this case to attack not only this woman, but all social media that is aimed at children. Well said! I think the single most damning thing that there is current video evidence of is how she brushed off one of her misdeeds as a "fart joke." The "joke" in question was calling a teenage girl fan to the front of the stage she was performing on and, without prior consent, opened the legs of this girl to a crowded audience while making a fart noise. The girl was, by video evidence of the event, wearing a pair of short shorts, and was mortified by what happened. According to this girl's allegation, adult men made sexual comments at her for the rest of the night.
Brushing aside what she put that girl through as "just a fart joke" is, in my eyes, mocking the victim.

They see people who only see them as worthwhile if they have a lot of money, fans, or influence. Simultaneously having active disdain for people outside those groups or anyone different.

thats because she (and most other predators) actually think that way. most dont set out thinking "i am going to groom and abuse children," they think that they're just weird and misunderstood, and that kids will be more understanding of that and give them the benefit of the doubt. which is exactly what kids do, because the kid thinks "hey im also a misunderstood weirdo, this person doesn't seem too bad" and doesnt realize that there's a world of difference between their definitions of "weird."
for the more actively malicious ones, this becomes a motive. kids understand them, kids don't view them as a threat, kids aren't offput by their sexual adances - so why seek out intimacy with adults when it's so much easier to do it that way? it can't be THAT harmful, and it's not like anyone is gonna find out as long as the victim trusts you.
it doesn't take malicious intent to be a predator, all it takes is feeling like you're just too much of a weirdo/loser for other adults, and being either stupid or apathetic enough to decide that the appropriate response to that is to turn your attention onto kids or teens. unsurprisingly, colleen is just too much of an idiot to realize this. she's trying to appeal to sympathy because she actually believes she's guilty of nothing more than just being weird, and that other people will relate to that. she's too self centered to see that to the rest of the world she is ADMITTING to the exact crimes she's being accused of
TL;DR colleen is a fucking idiot. sorry for the essay reply i have a lot of thoughts about this as both a past victim and someone who has seen this type of youtube groomer hubris many many many times by now

Radio silence from him for almost a year as the accusations, rumors, and lies were making their rounds. During that time, he lawyered up, got every receipt possible, and in a calculated and expert defense of himself, he tore apart every accusation and more than saved his career. Lesson taught: Never make yourself out to be the victim, always have receipts, and a lawyer is always a good idea to really make your evidence and defense iron clad.

And I also chose the number seventeen, because I figured that was a high enough body count to raise eyebrows and call the "honest mistake" defense into question anyway.

I've always hated the statement "Innocent people don't stay quiet this long." Smart innocent people wait until they know what they're going to say and how they're going to address the allegations. Not everyone can afford legal counsel and and it's really important not to respond impulsively. Kwite's a good example of someone who took his time and kept quiet while he gathered evidence and formulated his response.

    • @deanm4905
      @deanm4905 Рік тому +4

Statements about what innocent or guilty people do are always bullshit. There are guilty people who do not respond even when asked what their name is. I was at one unfortunate incident where the person I saw put another person's head through a door just held out his hands and let the police cuff him and take him away. I would not be surprised if that guy went from arraignment to verdict without saying a peep to anyone other than his lawyer, and maybe not even them.
People with mental health issues, like Colleen allegedly has, often have major impulse control problems and can end up really digging an abyss for themselves. I know I have talked too much to cops because my head felt too light and I wanted to just lie down and cry. Thankfully a neighbour stepped in and told them hey, this guy is mentally unwell, can you just bear that in mind and take him to the station.

Yeah, sometimes the innocent have to pretend to be guilty in order to survive.
When you train a service dog, whenever it's for pulling a wheelchair, or to warn you when you're about to have a seizure, they all have to pass a test that proves they will be good in public spaces. Once you pass that test, you're pretty much good.
But for some reason, someone made up the idea that anyone with a service dog is supposed to have a "license" that they can show you to prove it's real. This is fake. There's no magic card that says I need a service dog. Mainly because going around forcing everyone to prove that they're "disabled enough" no need help is pretty messed up.
But because so many think this tag exists, people with real service dogs, that have been trained for _years_ are getting accused and denied service for the crime of "being fake". So some people with, again, _real_ service dogs, decided to print out a fake license so people would stop yelling at them for acting like a disabled person.
The innocent don't act stereotypically innocent. Again, this is people assuming that because the innocent person isn't acting perfect, that they're absolutely guilty and we might as well pull out the guillotine right now.
(This is a weird thread to pull, so apologies if it feels out of left field or slightly off topic.)

But it can also be self-incriminating (Footage of Proud boys storming capitol was used to prosecute them). And If you're found guilty in the court of public opinion, you lose your social network, your credibility and your livelihood. Just look at OJ Simpson. He had a substantial bank account and that didn't resurrect his career or former life.
