I think that the Civic is over-hyped. I dare anyone to find a car similar to this one in EVERY way and still be able to buy it for under $26,000. Kia and Hyundai, in my opinion, are the best economy car companies because they add things that other car companies wouldn't dare include.

hi steve, great review! How's the interior built quality? Does everything feel solid like a BMW or audi?
I've seen quite a few of them here in Trinidad. I like the looks of it, with the exception of the daytime running lights; to me it looks like an aftermarket job.
wow.. that's a lots of goodies for the price!! that's really good!!.. I just wish they would have put double exhaust .. in the back... than it would look perfect!
How was the road noise? I perceive it to be a bit noisy?
Everything else on the compact market in 2014 was boring? The Focus and Mazda3 of the time weren't boring at all. I own a 2012 Forte5 and test drove the others. They're both more lively, involving and refined to drive than the Forte. Practicality and price made the Kia more sensible for me.
Are the front and rear sonar sensors available on the production cars - cant find any record of it ? -- Thanks

Every time I see a Kia. I'm always reminded of the Sephia sedan of the early 90's. Today's Kias are very nice cars, but I wouldn't be able to get over the badge.
I am obsessed with this car this year forte is only priced at $13,000, ounce I graduate college in April I'll be putting a down payment on this one, either the sedan or the hatchback my 1st car now is a 2 door I need something a lil bigger this would be perfect.. 😊
If you're asking why I didn't compare it to the engine in Civic Si it's because the Kia Forte does not offer a performance oriented like model. The Forte EX really competes with the Civic EX-L Sedan which only comes with 1 engine.
I wouldn't take it to those lengths but the quality, fit and finish felt great.
Maybe that wouldn't be an issue for the Millennial Generation, but for those of us that are close to 40, and were driving at those times it's not so easy to win us over. Even when I think Hyundai, I always remember the EXCEL

Great review :) just wanted to know of the HID head lamps are only low beam?
The HID headlamps are optional on the Forte EX and are for both low and high beams.

Steve, have you driven the new Kia Forte five-door? If so, how does it compare to the sedan? Are the seats and interior the same?
I have a 2021 forte. Gt line. Why have the newer fortes lost the function of power folding side mirrors??
Many people expressed that same sentiment to me this week. People view Hyundai above Kia in prestige. Funny how that goes.
I really like the forte coupe. I'm torn between the civic, the forte coupe, or the scion tc.
Steve, what do you think of Toyota offering a 4 speed auto in the new Corolla? With everyone else having 5 and 6 speeds, I think it puts them at a big disadvantage unless you pony up xtra dough for the high level model with a CVT.

I like the new Forte but ended up buying a 2013 Cruze ECO. I'm getting 42 MPG on my mostly highway commute. If KIA could get better EPA number's I would have bought it.
Good job as usual. I'm starting to change my opinion of Kia cars. Famous brands are not necessarily the best brands.

id get an older 06-09 scion tC not a new one. but if you want a new car the new civic coupe looks good.

That's how press fleets usually run; all the same.
