- Today we are trying out the LEAF Twig.
It is a very mild but efficient razor that makes the transition from cartridge to safety razor very easy.

The Twig was my first razor when I got into wet shaving. It really helps teach you how to use a safety razor.
True, it is pretty easy to get it all lined up.

Well, It is an awesome shaving tool indeed but the learning curve with this one is very minimal which is great if you are switching from the terrible cartridge .I would say that the double sided blades razors are a completely different zone to jump in to...
I have tried a lot of razors and the Twig is by far my favorite for quick head and face shaves. Fast, efficient and zero irritation. Congrats on your partnership with them!

I'm a great fan of its big sister, the Leaf, which is great for head shaving for us baldies. I'm not all that struck on the Twig's design, although I love the Leaf, but I have heard lots of really good things about the Twig, so looking forward to see what you make of it.

That was my name on the screen! Sweet! 😀 Very good review! I have had all three of their razors. The Leaf I just gave away, did not care for it and didn't really work as a single blade for me. The Twig I tried it a few times and it just tugged a lot on my hair, unfortunately I lend it to a friend for what was suppose to be a week and a year and a half later he still hasn't given it back, but I will be trying it again soon. The Thorn was exactly what I needed! The right amount of aggression to get through my stubborn chin hair. I keep it loaded and ready for use at all times.A good daily driver for sure. Did you give different blades a chance in your twig? Once you get it back try it with a really sharp blade.

@@Heiko-shaves I threw a Feather in there, but my shaving technique and the frequency of how often I shave have changed a lot in the 3 years I bought it, so I am looking forward to giving it another go! I'll have to do a side by side comparison with the Thorn the first time I use it again!

Ich liebe den Leaf Twig auch total und könnte auch komplett allein mit ihm glücklich werden und alle meine anderen Hobel abgeben. Hatte auch erst Vorbehalte gegen die SE-Razors, aber der Twig konnte diese total ausräumen. Bin zu einem absoluten Fan vom twig geworden.

I have this razor. This is an extraordinary razor. The shave is sooo good..I had to write to them that this razor as far the price is concern, its underestimate.
It's one of my best razors ever. Someone could just stay with it.

Love my Twig Razor too ! Any DE Blade works well with it and the usual careful DE shave technique can be somewhat ignored with this remarkable razor , and is very economical to use too !

Dissenting opinion, I guess. I've been using a double edge for 30+ years. I like an aggressive razor so I got the thorn. I have never had a cut or burn in three decades. Using the thorn was a bloodbath. When I tried to review it on the Leaf site, one came to the recommend page. If you didn't click yes, you could not go further in the survey. Finito. That's what my dad would have called "a racket."
I am not sure I understand what you are saying. Were you trying to leave a customer review on the Leaf webpage but the webpage wouldn't let you?
With 30+ years of shaving experience and you like aggressive razors, I can't imagine how the Thorn could harm you.
Either the blade isn't installed correctly or there is something wrong with the razor.
You should email Leaf and tell them what is going on, I bet they would send you a replacement.
@@Heiko-shaves. Yes, the survey is exactly as I described. When the "would you recommend?" question came up, and you did not check it, it was not possible to advance the survey and thus impossible to complete and submit it. So an unfavorable review was impossible to post on their site (which is partly why I'm doing it here.) In fairness, I did report the situation to Leaf, and they quickly refunded my purchase.
interesting. I have given a couple of twigs and thorns away as gifts to friends and I got nothing but praise for those razors. I wonder what was wrong with the Thorn you had. Would you give it another try if you had a chance?
@@Heiko-shaves If I had the chance, yes. But, as you'd guess, I wouldn't purchase one. There may have been a mechanical issue in that it was difficult to open it up to insert the blade, as though something was "jamming the gears." That eventually worked, but it is possible the result was that the blade was not inserted fully/correctly.

I currently don't own a Thorn. Let's see what we can do.
i have the leaf twig.but i ended up using feather blades with it and leaves buttery smooth shaves i pair it with "level 3 clear shaving gel" aqua version.i came from using gillete mach 3 razors and it is similar of not better while saving me money.i only found out about it because the cost of the cartridges was getting too high! the feather blades are the most expensive for the safety razors but even then stiil cheaper than the mach3.
That sounds like a great setup.
Took me quit some time but I finally convinced myself to buy one. I already have about 15 razors but I kept on reading the good stories about this razor that I finally bought it ( yeah I know, it has been out there for a longer period but that's just me )

I think the Twig and Thorn razors are excellent. I have three thorns and one Twig..Well priced and well made. Nubies buy the twig You will be very happy with it..

That is a very technical question. I unfortunately don't have the answer. The only thing I can tell you is the Twig mild but edgy. It gets the job done without irritation.

Yes, I have. I like. I think the Twig is a bit higher on my likeability scale.
Does your trig razor color faded after several month?
No, no fading. So far it is holding up.
Now the questions are:
Which razors are in your daily rotation ?
Which one is losing its place in favor of the twig ?

@@Heiko-shaves I feel like a fun project for you could be to keep an updated list on the channel of your top 5 daily razors and let us know when you try a new one how it fares against your top 5.
It seemed you shave aggressively. You didn’t care it will give you a nik. Do you feel fear or safe to shave? With Gillette razors I can feel confident not getting a nik anyway I shave.
The twig is the mildest razor I have, no fear of nicks.
