I love how open they're being about what they're doing/ want to do. Even if they don't implement everything, it's nice seeing a team be so open ( *cough* sims team *cough* )
Every time I see a guru open about something, people jump to 'thats what the boss told them to say' do it's like why be more open if they'll just be accused of being told what to say
indie devs have much more freedom when it comes to fan/community interaction. Sims team is controlled by EA so they can't just go out there telling the fans what they're doing or what they want to include in future packs. All decisions are made by the higher ups.
I’m most excited for a realistic life simulator. I’ve been playing the sims for years and it’s getting farther and farther away from reality. People don’t die from laughter or embarrassment and it’s stupid that I get nervous when a sim is humiliated or playful. I’m just ready for a realistic, open world game. And I’m especially excited about how detail oriented the devs are and how they don’t seem like they are just doing this for money. They truly seem passionate about this game and it’s going to be amazing because of it.

Your childhood must have been so boring I remember going to other planets as a kid and hanging out with galaxy fighters and aliens didn’t you? Nothing more nostalgic and realistic than hanging out at an alien friendly bar as a teen ager!! PS completely joking! Im just angry that sims has began to suck, EA needs to freshen up the team or make the youtube popular simmers in charge of what goes in the game
3:28 Yes i love that! They’re basically implementing the kind of stuff that made The Sims 2 so great, it had a realistic gameplay but with a lot of crazy elements
I love this game already ☺️. I do think the devs are overwhelmed with all the ideas and I’d be fine if they don’t implement them all but I’m just happy they’re listening to the community
Canada = mountains and freakin snow!!! = skiing 😭🙏🏻 I hope they at least add the electricity going out sometimes during thunderstorms. I always want that in the Sims because they 99% of the time are tense about it even though they’re aafe inside! I’m only ever tense if the power goes out 😅 (and trees falling over but I’m in the south and there’s possibilities of tornadoes)
Keep in mind that not all Canada is is snow and skiing a lot of Canada is flat. We do have a lot of lakes and water sports so water skiing would be fun
in texas, it doesnt snow here. when it does we really cant go to school because our tires are not prepared for the iced roads and its too dangerous since a lot of drivers just cant maneuver on the roads. its not necessarily a “snow day” but just us being cautious and making sure that the people are safe.
I know most countries don't have the equipment. But I am just pointing out the cultural differences between how different countries handle weather like snow. For me a snow day is a very strange thing.
My biggest concern for this game is that its getting really hyped up with a never-ending list of things promised or suggested, which may end up with a similar problem like that of Yanderedev where it never actually ends up completed.
The best thing here is how every action you do in the game impacts your life.That's how the modern life simulation game should be like.Also i would be cool even with just some basic weather changes in the base game since we haven't got that in the Sims ever in vanila versions but i am more then happy they are considering as most as possible on that part.I can't wait for the next part since i am looking forward to hear about general progression and maybe how they feel about the support the game is getting.Ofc it's gonna be interesting to hear about animations! The more you report on this the more I get excited. Cautiously excited of course. The game is looking and sounding really, really good so far. It still seems too good to be true. Its a fun builder, but game play lacks heart, as we all know and feel. AW They’re Canadian! I’m on the other side of Canada so our forests and cities look very different, but it’s always nice to know that something I’m excited about is Canadian made. BC is gorgeous, so a forest based on the BC forests would be stunning. The mountains are so lovely as well.

I really hope the gameplay is more turbulent, having really exciting good things happen but then also the bad to balance! Like bad weather damaging the house or, sickness, or getting robbed and fire. Having Paras significant other initiate a breakup or at the very least a fight. I really hope there is stuff a Para can adapt to and eventually grow from.
I haven't saw no one go against Sims with another simulation game. I'm happy that they are also giving us the opportunity to give suggestions to make it more realistic
The more I hear about Paralives, the more excited I am for it. Some of the most happy memories I have from Sims are from Sims 3, with snow piled high, my family celebrating the winter holiday, frost on the windows, snow falling.... If I can even remotely re-capture that in Paralives, it will have done everything I could ask for. And from what I've been seeing, it's going to.

Simmer Erin absolutely 100 percent agree! It can be the most beautiful game but at the end of the day, gameplay is always at the heart of it...one thing I loved about the Sims 3 was Generations of course because of the amount of things that were added even if they were minor/little details. In my opinion sims 3 in general did such a good job with this! For example is a clumsy sim was to propose they would accidentally almost drop the ring 🥺 or if a dirty sim were to eat chips their hands would be dirty! All of those little things made the game! And I hope paralives can not just add but make their own unique gameplay !

Hey, this is going to be a bit of a long one so bear with me. I'm glad that there are toddlers of course. I'm also happy about what I've heard for realistic game play and seasons though I'm not sure I'm clear on how it works. Now about the disasters thing I get why you might want them, it's realistic and keeps the player on their toes which can be fun. But here's the thing if they ever add it especially in a patch they need to put in an off switch for players who might not want that for storytelling or comfort reasons. Finally the careers that to me means were getting a good number of options on that front as well as the owning your own business thing I think they already confirmed. That is also nice to hear but we'll have to see how it goes as they don't have any specifics for us yet.
great video Erin if you talk to them again can you ask how long it's going to take for a para to eat a meal? I get so frustrated when it takes my sim 1 hour or more just to eat and then there is taking a bath or shower and why is everyone left handed in the sims? Thank you for bringing some light into my day.

The devs have said that they plan to put out a disability survey in the same vein as the LGBTQIA+ and cultural diversity surveys they've already done! I'm sure that a lot of people will bring up invisible disabilities to the devs then.
The fact they said the word country.......I would be all over that. I like playing country builds, growing my own food. no electronics....working the land kinda job. I miss that about sims. that also includes the animals. I can wait for this game to come out....

@@SimmerErin I don't know if they would do just the basic weather without the other stuff. The weather is kind of a big part of a seasons system, just like the calendar and events would be. I really think it is time to add seasons to the base game. I know it would probably be bare bones at the start of the game, but since it is the base game, they could add more features to the seasons system as the game aged. Then they also wouldn't have to worry about the weather system if they wanted to add a new world that was very cold or very hot, they could just add that to the seasons system. I know that is a big DLC for them, so they'd never do it probably, but I mean I think it would improve the base game so much, and people would eventually adjust to the idea of seasons getting updates as the base game updated. Then we wouldn't have to wait 4 years to get all of the seasons features at the same time, we could get them scattered throughout that time.
I really want this game but I don't want it. If that makes sense. I want them to spend as much time as they need to create what they imagine; just drip feed us info and videos. Right up until completion. Because while it's a closed world the world itself sounds amazing; beach, town, and country.
My dream would be babies>toddlers>young kids (4-6)>older kids>(7-10)>preteens>high school teens>college teens/early 20s>young adults (early 20's-mid-30s)>adults (mid 30's-50ish)>older adults (50ish-65ish)>retirees>elders (80-90/100). Of course that is way too much lol, just dreaming. I hope it's at least 6-8 life stages and I just hope they look distinct-- ie, don't make teens/young adults/adults look almost exactly the same so much that you have to check or zoom in to look closely just to tell them all apart. Ahem... not sure where I'm getting this idea though, what game developers would do that? LOL.
I'm wonder if they'll even change the works in countryside to sheriff instead of police :0. I think that would be a cool little detail, even if it's gonna be just the name that's changed ;D.
It seems weird that a toddler would understand that mama getting fat means that a new baby is coming. I can see that from a child and the child getting jealous and I can see a toddler getting jealous once the baby comes but to me it seems that a toddler is a little too young to get jealous of a pregnancy. Maybe I'm wrong though.
It’s a nit picky thing I know. It’s just if it’s going to include something like that it would feel authentic to real life. I like how the sims does the whole jealousy of a new born thing.
It's the mama's divided attention and her excitement about someone that isnt the toddler? Likely the first time the toddler realizes the world doesn't revolve around them lol I am the oldest of 3
I’m so excited for this game and really want them to take there time and add as much as possible as far as gameplay. It’s the little things I’m so excited for and are hoping are implemented. Like, I’m hoping that there’s hot chocolate, and you can cook with your family or bake with them. I’m hoping the kids can have the option to take the bus, walk or be dropped off by parents, also missing the bus and having to rush to take them. I’m hoping you can play the kids in school at some point, parent teacher conferences, suspension, games and after school activities, malls, grocery shopping and putting your baby in a cart, going from item to item or just like making a list and watching the paras go in and grab everything. Actual sick days for adults and kids, where the parents call into school for them and stay home from work to take care of them, have to take them to the doctors and hospital, casts for broken bones. Have pregnancy and birth have a realistic timeline and delivery, like doctors appointments bed rest, parenting classes. Hopefully one day there will be airplanes and travel like a real vacation! Ugh so many ideas, some unrealistic but just what I hope one day could happen. There’s soooo sooo much, that are little that I want so bad, I could go on for hours which I honestly might because I love to talk about this stuff with other para fans so comment down below guys and tell me what you think and what you hope to see. Im not even saying all in the base game but things in the future would be amazing.

The other week I was like okay, that's it! i'm done with the sims 4 this is boring i'm going back to sims 3......and yeah i couldn't because of the stupid metal update. I checked and they had said last year that the update for sims 3 so that we could still play it would be happening in the first part of 2020 but yeah it never happened smh
Ugh yeah I can't play 3 either. That isn't the main reason I don't connect with 4 but it certainly is a factor. I feel that for some reason the closed world didn't bug me much with Sims 2 but prob because I didn't know much else and I was drawn to the rest of the gameplay
@@SimmerErin Yeah the sims 2 had cars and buses a lot more fleshed out gameplay too i remember you could even edit the worlds to some degree and create your own new ones at least

As a Swedish person the concept of a snow day is incredibly foreign to me. We go to school everyday no matter what.

Hey, this is going to be a bit of a long one so bear with me. I'm glad that there are toddlers of course. I'm also happy about what I've heard for realistic game play and seasons though I'm not sure I'm clear on how it works. Now about the disasters thing I get why you might want them, it's realistic and keeps the player on their toes which can be fun. But here's the thing if they ever add it especially in a patch they need to put in an off switch for players who might not want that for storytelling or comfort reasons. Finally the careers that to me means were getting a good number of options on that front as well as the owning your own business thing I think they already confirmed. That is also nice to hear but we'll have to see how it goes as they don't have any specifics for us yet.
oh I def think something like that would need an on/ off toggle!

great video Erin if you talk to them again can you ask how long it's going to take for a para to eat a meal? I get so frustrated when it takes my sim 1 hour or more just to eat and then there is taking a bath or shower and why is everyone left handed in the sims? The devs have said that they plan to put out a disability survey in the same vein as the LGBTQIA+ and cultural diversity surveys they've already done! I'm sure that a lot of people will bring up invisible disabilities to the devs then.

The fact they said the word country.......I would be all over that. I like playing country builds, growing my own food. no electronics....working the land kinda job. I miss that about sims. that also includes the animals. I can wait for this game to come out....

I wish The Sims would release a game that had seasons in the base game.
For me I would opt for basic weather
@@SimmerErin I don't know if they would do just the basic weather without the other stuff. The weather is kind of a big part of a seasons system, just like the calendar and events would be. I really think it is time to add seasons to the base game. I know it would probably be bare bones at the start of the game, but since it is the base game, they could add more features to the seasons system as the game aged. Then they also wouldn't have to worry about the weather system if they wanted to add a new world that was very cold or very hot, they could just add that to the seasons system. I know that is a big DLC for them, so they'd never do it probably, but I mean I think it would improve the base game so much, and people would eventually adjust to the idea of seasons getting updates as the base game updated. Then we wouldn't have to wait 4 years to get all of the seasons features at the same time, we could get them scattered throughout that time.

My dream would be babies>toddlers>young kids (4-6)>older kids>(7-10)>preteens>high school teens>college teens/early 20s>young adults (early 20's-mid-30s)>adults (mid 30's-50ish)>older adults (50ish-65ish)>retirees>elders (80-90/100). Of course that is way too much lol, just dreaming.
I hope it's at least 6-8 life stages and I just hope they look distinct-- ie, don't make teens/young adults/adults look almost exactly the same so much that you have to check or zoom in to look closely just to tell them all apart. Ahem... not sure where I'm getting this idea though, what game developers would do that? LOL.
I would also like it if they made their features similar to each age group so you can actually tell what they look like as they age older

It seems weird that a toddler would understand that mama getting fat means that a new baby is coming. I can see that from a child and the child getting jealous and I can see a toddler getting jealous once the baby comes but to me it seems that a toddler is a little too young to get jealous of a pregnancy. Maybe I'm wrong though.
A one year old probably wouldn't, but I think a 3 year old might
True I guess it depends on how old the toddler is; I read it also maybe that they were told then got jealous?
It’s a nit picky thing I know. It’s just if it’s going to include something like that it would feel authentic to real life. I like how the sims does the whole jealousy of a new born thing.
It's the mama's divided attention and her excitement about someone that isnt the toddler? Likely the first time the toddler realizes the world doesn't revolve around them lol I am the oldest of 3
I’m so excited for this game and really want them to take there time and add as much as possible as far as gameplay. It’s the little things I’m so excited for and are hoping are implemented. Like, I’m hoping that there’s hot chocolate, and you can cook with your family or bake with them. I’m hoping the kids can have the option to take the bus, walk or be dropped off by parents, also missing the bus and having to rush to take them. I’m hoping you can play the kids in school at some point, parent teacher conferences, suspension, games and after school activities, malls, grocery shopping and putting your baby in a cart, going from item to item or just like making a list and watching the paras go in and grab everything. Actual sick days for adults and kids, where the parents call into school for them and stay home from work to take care of them, have to take them to the doctors and hospital, casts for broken bones. Have pregnancy and birth have a realistic timeline and delivery, like doctors appointments bed rest, parenting classes. Hopefully one day there will be airplanes and travel like a real vacation! Ugh so many ideas, some unrealistic but just what I hope one day could happen. There’s soooo sooo much, that are little that I want so bad, I could go on for hours which I honestly might because I love to talk about this stuff with other para fans so comment down below guys and tell me what you think and what you hope to see. Im not even saying all in the base game but things in the future would be amazing.

i'm just so seriously excited about open worlds. I miss cars and stuff so much. The other week I was like okay, that's it! i'm done with the sims 4 this is boring i'm going back to sims 3......and yeah i couldn't because of the stupid metal update. I checked and they had said last year that the update for sims 3 so that we could still play it would be happening in the first part of 2020 but yeah it never happened smh
Ugh yeah I can't play 3 either. That isn't the main reason I don't connect with 4 but it certainly is a factor. I feel that for some reason the closed world didn't bug me much with Sims 2 but prob because I didn't know much else and I was drawn to the rest of the gameplay
@@SimmerErin Yeah the sims 2 had cars and buses a lot more fleshed out gameplay too i remember you could even edit the worlds to some degree and create your own new ones at least

@@mattheo4709 I don't know to be honest but I can see what modders are doing for the Sims game and it's awesome. Arnie who is a modder is currently working on an open world and ocean swimming everywhere
Milly Vice ik that but that’s because he’s more familiar with the games engine. Paralives is a completely different game with different coding so it’s gonna take a while to get used to it
@@mattheo4709 yea you're right but the difference is that the Sims team doesn't support modders, they tolerate them but Paralives Team said that they support mods 😊 in the end we'll just have to wait and see what's possible and what not
