Soundwave: alrighty, let's transform
*Breaks back*
This made my day
Yeets to the space
Soundwave : alrighty, let's transform
*breaks back*
OK guys I'm done
🤣🤣🤣
bReAkS bAcK 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The $20 stand for your transformers. Also included, a grey man doing yoga.
The stand is way too small to use with basically any other releases 😭
@@PrimeVsPrime Can't you modify the stand to make it move since it has a pin?
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Absolutely agree with you.
Omg, I'm dying with this comment hahaha
His chest looks like a TIE Fighter cockpit.
Yeah now that i put it side by side it does just a blue version instead of grey
It does give the vibes of it lol
Imagine there is a heavy remold of this studio series soundwave but it's a tie fighter
Swear this was what I was thinking but couldn’t put my finger on it, he’s like that Darth Vader transformer type figure
@@stevennavarro9294 i got that one its sick the Darth Vader it turns into his Tie fighter with a mini Darth Vader inside
Nowadays: *Releases figures earlier than anyone else in the planet earth*
Literally the day after: *Reviews MPM 163*
I think the lack of paint means the figure is more playable because you don’t need to worry about paint chipping as much
i think this is good as a protoform but not soundwave
The only thing I see is an extremely detailed robot. With a simple dark wash thru out will let the details pop:)
I think your talking about dotm soundwave
Don’t ask questions just consume product
He is right, @Ocean Hammer i agree!
Soundwave did not actually have the visor in Revenge of the Fallen or Dark of the moon, only his old figures and concept art had the visor
You think that they based this figure off the art work then? I dont remember what it looks like
Probably
If you look carefully it looks like there’s transparent glass in front of his face in the movie during the space portions RotF
If I remember correctly...he did have a visor that's covering his eyes
@@notrod0918 but it wasn't red at all, it was completely transparent.
so he might as well not have had a visor at all.
Yeah that figure could be one of the weakest studio series figures of 2020. It's a decent looking figure overall but it could've been better. Nice review prime
The old toy is a million times more accurate (besides some colouring), even the robot mode of that figure resembles the concept art for the robot mode if he had one in ROTF. This new figure definitely looks more like a protoform. The old robot mode just looks cooler anyway lol
It really did. I honestly would've much preferred the old Deluxe-class mold with some modern engineering. This really just looks like some mid-tier protoform.
That alternate mode is actually accurate to the movie, the original 2009 figure is based on Soundwave's concept art from ROTF
It’s really not accurate in the slightest. The original RotF mold has a pretty accurate satellite mode, the robot mode was the one primarily speculative.
Ultra Magnus And even then, that was used in the RotF Game, making it official.
That is true didnt notice that
that was a joke right? just look the concept, this soundwave isn't accurate to nothing, yes, the first soundwave was accurate from the comic and the videogame, but the studio series, isn't accurate even to his concept
Transformers WIKI Channel It’s a bit more accurate than the old deluxe because his actual satellite mode is basically a torso with his head whereas the old one had a faux head.
Lord, the voyager that came out with the movie has a more convincing satellite mode.. This is just soundwave with his legs pinned to his back. -edit: Glad you compared him to the original. What a disappointment.
It's a deluxe actually, but I agree!
lol
@@ThomVercetti You can't blame my confusion, he's the size of a modern voy lol
@@fen4554 ehh not really. As the comparison shows, he's shorter than a modern deluxe.
>awful inaccurate satellite mode
>just looks like him doing yoga
>boring transformation
>lackluster paint
>ankles halfway up the shins
>no ravage
yeah, I won't be getting this one, and I love and collect Soundwave!
What about the stand?
Well, the old Satellite mode was not accurate, the new one is a bit more. But according to the concept art he was meant to transform into a brute. I think this is pretty accurate to such.
Not even the new one is accurate to anything
Buff Soundwave.
Buff Soundwave
F00l and to be slim he shed the armor
The Other Dragoon Fighter 64 It doesn’t reuse the DOTM head. It’s the much better ROTF headsculpt. I agree with the parent comment that the satellite mode is a bit more accurate than the original deluxe but the deluxe is definitely the better toy.
I also agree that it looks like a TLK model.
They should have made his legs fold up farther and given him more blue and silver paint
PrimeVsPrime has the new studio Series deluxes, get ready for Studio Series reveals soon
What a lazy design. It even reuses the same shoulder and thigh pieces (complete with gas tank port!) from the car mode.
I actually like the carry on of parts. Gives the figures some continuity, although I will admit I disagree the gas tanks.
If you could if even call it a “vehicle mode”
Also, r imagination, the panels bits on the arms could be elbow swords!
I noticed that too
@@mikathomo391 Same
This Soundwave looks more like a Halo enemy than a Decepticon
I do know know WHY, but I have an odd love for this toy, I have no clue but I LOVE HIM.
I am SOOO happy I cancelled my pre-order on this! When a copy of this figure was initially unveiled earlier this year, it was covered from HEAD to TOE in silver paint. Now this video makes me see that the paint that it USED to have was really the only thing that would've saved it. It's kinda sad that the stand that it comes with actually looks cooler than the figure itself. It's vastly inferior to the original 2009 mold, so that makes me happy with what I have and helps me save money 😂 I agree with your thoughts PrimeVsPrime, awesome review, as always! 👍👍
I know this is a really strange view but I love this figure. Honestly. I think the way soundwaves satellite form is slightly chunky. And I really think the robot form, although it was never featured in ROTF is extremely cool looking and cybertronian. I know lots won’t agree but happy to have this in the collection personally.
I have said it before but i love prime vs primes blunt stlye of review je is complete honest he is the got to for transformers review
Dude what a straight up burn. You dropped the “monstrosity” on him before even looking at the backdrop 😶
The old one has the benefit of being used as a jet like in ROTF game dlc
Oh my Goooodd It's him !!!
Damn I though he will be coloured silver
I can see this being an infamous shelf warmer
The next helicopter mode Dropkick
in my opinion this soundwave studio series is much better than the original 2009
I got it today. And it looks really nice
Honestly, with the lack of paint this Soundwave looks a lot like a protoform. Maybe i will buy it for the stand.
the MINUTE I get Overload today and this pops up lol
Wowowow you got him!!!!
The satellite mode is beautiful but I am not sure about the not mode.
Great review. I'm envious
Although I would've preferred if they made him silver and used the dotm head sculpt.
I wish they included a ravage figure
Ravage is coming with Grindor
@@Alexdiscofunk oh yeah.
Yes! Can you see if you can do cliffjumper next PrimeVsPrime
Lucas Osorio so you expect him to have everything
@@thegoofygoober7350 no I don't shut up
@@thegoofygoober7350 he probably will because he does say at the beginning "review some new studio series figures starting off with soundwave"
Shockwave Prime well he has skipjack who isn't meant to be out for a few months at this point so it wouldn't be a surprise
He should have came with wires to hook up to another satellite. I’m getting the Lego satellite and I want him to look like he is taking over the human satellite’s!
this now holds he record for being the simplest studio series figure
Who was the most simplest before him in your opinion
@Cliffjumper Studios there was a repaint?
@Cliffjumper Studios Even if it's just a repaint atleast he looked accurate to the movie
Tbh I get more Soundwave vides from this than the dotm version.
And that alone has convinced me to buy it.
Soundwave supior!!!
Vides?
supior?
Soundwave supior,
Autobots Infior.
fun fact: this got me back into Transformers
I can’t believe they reused the thighs from the DotM Soundwave! The DotM version is very much ‘superior’
Except for the head. DOTM head is strictly inferior, especially considering the shoddy paint quality when compared to the rest of his body.
It's the same character
Naji Bro I hope you can swap the heads to make the soundwave from the dotm game
Reed A. Ah, a man of culture
but it kinda looks like a shortie
The first studio series figure that includes a stand
No, rampage had 1
@@shanzaimran2711 I ment for Ariel poses
The figure in the New York toy fair reveal is silver and has more blue painting
Yeah the final piece sucks
PrimeVsPrime I wouldn’t say ‘sucks’ but it’s not the best thing ever
In robot mode he looks like the Guardians (Knights) from TLK
The knights, you mean, and yes, this figure very much reminds me of Steelbane and the others.
@@AlexdiscofunkYup
Im the only one who think soundwave do yoga in his vehicule mode ?
vehicle*
Sorry im french
I actually love it, I never got a chance to have the original rotf one, from what I can tell it is a little simpler than that one but I really like it
A little?
Holy cow primevsprime amazing review I actually kinda like this figure, Keep up the good work !!
Fun fact: the chest of this figure can go over the arms.
Hasbro & Takara should have reworked Soundwave by giving him the robot mode seen in the ROTF video game (which came from concept art) or ROTF comics (which looked like the 2009 deluxe), which in turn would involve a more complex conversion, but keep the articulation we get on him so we can have a definitive representation of ROTF Soundwave as a modern lookin figure
I also favor the ROTF Soundwave from the concept art, toy, video game, and movie comics.
@@MrFedoraFilm they should have opted to go with either of those designs
I have the original and that insane toy actually transformed his legs into part of the satellite this chap looks like he’s just holding an unfortunate yoga pose. Whomp-whomp.
"Decepticons we had located the shard".
Those dots could be representing debre hitting him from floating around in space.
Just what I was thinking!
That's exactly what i was thinking when he pointed that out
Space is pretty dirty. It’s as much as a vast vacuum as there are large swaths of dust clouds, with fine particles and debris free-floating from past collisions. Stars can even undergo a nova when it loses mass to a nearby sister star (type II supernova).
Cant wait to see the Topspin review soon😁😁
Revenge of the Fallen figures are my favourites.
Nice review, and thanks for the honesty in the review.
The only reason I am going to be getting this figure is because of my love of Soundwave. He is my favorite figure so I will be getting am many versions of him as possible
nice review, i agree with you, i still prefer my Old Rotf deluxe, and in the SS toyline, i really love my dotm one , good review ; )
hi there PvP!!!
nice to see you reviewing another Studio Series figure!!! 🤩🤩🤩
I hope you review SS CLIFFJUMPER next!!! 😍😍😍
Loved the review can’t wait for more
If the satellite mode wasn’t so messed up at the back this would have been my favourite figure from the studio series line but it still has to be my 4th favourite
They should sell all of soundwave’s minicons from the movie comics in studio series, i mean thundercracker who wasn’t even in the movies got a figure
Can wait for topspin and BB cliffjumper
Idk why cliffjumper always dies
@@Tona10186 my boi cliff needs more respect I hope earthrise gives him character
@Cliffjumper Studios I still have hope that he's alive
Let’s hope they remake Soundwave in his satellite mode and make it more like the original ROTF toy Soundwave.
Nice review but, I like this one better Transformers ROTF Deluxe Class Infiltration Soundwave
Oh boi.
Awesome review, PvsP
It's a yes for me, I've been waiting for him.
Better get that dang studio series Cliffjumper soon! It’s Tuesday 18th August and it’s being shipped to me tomorrow!
I look forward for Hasbro and TakaraTomy to get to work on a Studio Series G1 Soundwave.
Netflix
Idgaf about what everyone says! I want one!!!
It's not entirely a 'concept' robot mode. The robot mode was seen in comic book form and in the ROTF game. The comic book, Transformers: Nefarious, involves Soundwave coming to earth after the events of the ROTF film and he is sporting the robot form. The ROTF game he was featured as a DLC bot. His robot mode and alt was based on the ROTF deluxe toy.
If you go to Hasbro Australia they already reviewed this figure and cliffjumper and topspin.
I don't know why, but his robot mode confirms that Soundwave was in TLK LOL :P
Great honest review 👍👍
The best prime vs prime.Y love.😍😍
Still hyped and I am going to go get it.
This soundwave is (in my opinion) a good tf2 soundwave, although it’s all covered in silver painting I’m still getting it for my collection with grindor, ravage, starscream, and megatron (maybe with optimus)
I like his robot mode. I actually think his kibble makes him look pretty cool.
I agree with everything you said !!
Wow 🤩
Those things on the arms of the satellite aren’t pauldrons, pauldrons are a type of shoulder armour
Ravage would have been nice, still picking it up though
Ravage is coming with Grindor
@@Alexdiscofunk grindor is a cop
What?
Barricade is a police car, and sort of looks and has the stature of a cop, so are you talking about Barricade?
@@Alexdiscofunk a cop, like I'm buying that shit 100%
Great review! I personally like the figure, and need that stand for dotm jetpack optimus, that'd look sick! And I like the robot mode
I am really happy the head has the movie accurate angular triangle shaped piece at the back of it, many promotional shots showed soundwaves head rounded off at the back and it looked far worse
Better than movies design lol
I like the bot mode, has a TLK look about it. The painted 'dots' probably are trying to convey micro meteorite strikes from space debris that travels at 22,300km/s! There are at least 3 different colour versions of the original ROFT mould (well that's what I own, maybe there's another) and a third mode for it too, a starfighter mode, not sure if that's a fan mode, something I came up with or an official mode...been way too many years to remember LOL.
Definitely passing on this figure. Thanks PrimeVPrime for always giving high quality, honest and detailed reviews. I've watched a review from your channel for every figure I've purchased except for two MPM KOs that you might not have. Thanks and keep it up.
Atleast this one has color unlike the previous sound wave from dotm which was not accurate in terms of detail & color such as the missing blue on the arms, as well as lockdown ifanything this is one of the few that has detail
I actually don’t mind the simplistic transformation of the bulkiness of the satellite mode. I will agree with you on the plastic, though. Definetly a figure that could use a custom paint job.
Yes finally we get to see the box
This figure absolutely pulls off what it needs to do imo. Soundwave is almost a non-entity in ROTF, and he doesn't transform. Therefore, Hasbro really didn't have much to do with this figure besides giving it a movie-accurate satellite mode. It works well for me.
I can expect this to be a real shelfwarmer
I can see this warming shelves and going on sale
I agree
I'm probably going to get this figure just because he is a soundwave and I don't have a soundwave yet
Honestly, this slightly reminds me of Mark I or II Ironman with an arc reactor and bland grey metal
I expect the review for bug bite to surface next week 👍
It's not that bad and it's good enough detailed and I like that it's only ten steps my opinion tho
If we really wanna push a meaning for the specks....maybe the specks are actually the mini insects Ravage has. But thats a complete stretch.
the more i look at this, yeah this is basically almost a protoform soundwave, im keeping my old ROTF
Excuse me sir are you planning to acquire the studio series leadfoot figure? And when does the dark of the moon topspin comes out? If it is not much a problem?
Probably gonna pick it up since it's a nice base figure for a rather obscure decepticon named Radar
This Soundwave is a retool of the DOTM Soundwave SS51.
Excellent review PvP! I have similar views on this figure. If I see it on clearance, or discount, I’ll get it, as I think this guy will definitely shelfwarm, next to Helicopter Dropkick, and siege Chromia. Robot mode is ok. More hyped for what you have coming next, as I’m interested on your takes on Cliffjumper and Topspin. Once again, excellent review PvP!
Am I the only one that actually likes it?
Are you gonna review the new Netflix soundwave ?
this version of the rotf studio series soundwave is my personal favourite studio series figure.
Then you need to get more SS figures
