Even as a kid, watching this as a Brit was so weird bc English Aristocrat Garfield clone voiced by Tim Curry is the most 'American writing a Brit' thing ever.
I think that besides the one racist bit, the biggest "problem" with Aristocats is that it's a very "old-style" animated movie where the plot isn't that strong, but it's got light songs and cartoony antics, so it just doesn't hit the same way now because that's not what people are expecting in an animated movie.
Considering how embarrassed Bill Murray was to be in these movies I wonder if Lorenzo Music somehow arranged all this from beyond the grave as a way of getting back at him for getting him fired from the real Ghostbusters.
I consider it karmic retribution for being a terrible person to his fellow workers on set and getting away with having the public image of being charming and charismatic for so long

On the other hand, he didn't ever do covers- it was always something original, and often enough was more of a dancing along to the background Lou Rawls song. What in the ham sandwich is going on with these movies?

Muppet dog Jojo notes that something is different about her in the long shots and Jim Henson explains it was easier to hire a different dog than bring the American dog actor to England, and Jojo will feel more like herself in the close-ups, when she's a puppet. When I watched the first movie it was sort of a "OK, sure, let's what the deal with this is" and not any sort of enthusiasm or interest for it. But the sequel is a movie I've never felt the need to watch, even out of morbid curiosity. You know, at least when Johnny Bravo did its own version of The Prince and The Pauper it had the decency of mocking the whole idea, to the point of even having Mark Twain show up and ask people to please stop abusing this story. Mind you, that episode was released 7 years before this movie.
If I was knighted in 2017 I'd feel really disappointed to have Prince William do it instead of Queen Elizabeth. Like was there a really good ceremony in another room with the queen, and a good one with Prince Charles, and then the leftovers get the guy who will eventually become king 30 years later only after his grandma and father die?
The bit where Jon pulls the Prince cat from the sewer was filmed in York, the street was like half an hour's walk from my house. I remember it was in the paper, and everything, which just made me laugh, that my city, they were proud to have Garfield 2 filmed here. It was funny for two other reasons. First, Jon grabs the cat, and the direction he goes leads to a river with nowhere else to go. Second, if they were in London, why was Jon in a city 219 miles away, and how did Tim Curry cat end up there? Did they run out of time in London? Lol

I didn't want to watch a tale with one of these things, very presumptuous of them to assume I'd watch one with two!
I'd make a joke about the Zombieland cast asking these British actors if they have any regrets, but I doubt they even remember this film.
I do remember a line Tim Curry saying in Bailey's Billions about how his life used to be full of promise and now it's just a pile of doggie doo...
It honestly sums up Tim Curry's role in Garfield Tail of 2 Kitties...
I honestly thought it was John Cleese instead of Billy Connolly at first.
More like A Fail of two Kitties!
Poor Billy Connolly, he's one of the greatest stand-up comedians of all time, and in this he's like an Aldi's brand John Cleese.
Isn't someone trying to get rid of a cat to get an inheritance the plot of "The Aristocats"?
Yes, indeed.
Yes, and that's not even very far-fetched in reality either. Because it's very common for rich people to leave their estate and money to their pets in their wills.
Ian Crombie was Professor Crumbs in Wizards of Waverly Place and Palpatine in CGI Star Wars clone wars series.
R.I.P.
Ah 2006 when I was about 7. All i remember about this one is it’s incredibly easy to tell who’s who by the voices 😂 a sequel video that is the perfect remedy for anything 😊 also the ‘prince’ getting put in a sack immediately reminds me of Ariocats especially the ‘being jealous of the cat and the owner giving all the inheritance to a cat😅
I was thinking the same thing! It’s like a poor man’s version of The Prince and the Pauper and The Aristocats
@@gracestarkes2644yeah 😂 I admit I do enjoy sharing what little i can remember of the movie before the review semi jogged my memory-ish🤷♀️
The story of Bill Murray only signing on because he thought the director was one of the Cohen brothers is the best name mix up outside if Giuliani's Four Seasons landscaping press conference.
😅😂😂😂Crow: "Hey, look, it's Jackie Gleason and he's 'mooning' us!"
Now we need the ultimate road trip team up movie. Ugly Sonic and ugly Garfield
Agreed 🎉
I would have used the storyline of Babes & Bullets for a Garfield film you would have a surefire hit on your hands
I see Vinnie Jones, I think "IT'S GONNA BE EMOTIONAL!!!" and a split-second later you make that reference, MWAH! *chef's kiss* 👌👌
I actually liked the 2nd one better, but that’s not saying much. It’s like preferring to clean up the more solid cat droppings in the litter box. Like Master of Disguise it’s just toilet humor for kids.
You can also consider this a ripoff of Disney's The Aristocats since it deals with the antagonist getting rid of the kittens.
Loved this movie along with the first one and those straight to dvd Garfield movies
2:29 - 2:33 Dead-Eyed Phelan should become a meme.
One of the reasons why I loved the ending to Zombieland 2
6:56 Wow with that laughing pitch you hit Chip & Dale level almost exactly.
I loved seeing your comic, Phelan! Reminded me of comics that I wrote as a kid. I love it when creators share their early work.
13:25 Ziggy: (silently and cutely judging you)
2 Garfields played by Bill Murray and Tim Curry!😼
The last time we got Murray and Curry was Charlie's Angels.
It's like when these two are in a movie it's poison
Why??
See, that sounds hilarious. But it isn't. It is the opposite.
CAT-tastrophe until Tom Hooper makes CATS into a film. “MACAVITY”
I chose this movie to see for my 8th birthday. I bet my mum was so happy with my birthday choice
Always had a soft spot for this movie.
This movie is one of the monsters Allison and Phelan fight in Silent Hill
They dance! They fart! They dance and dance and fart! Dance dance dance! Fart fart fart! The Garfield Colon A Tail of Two Kittiiiiiies.
16:32 Did that rat seriously say "they're going to bulldoze the barnyard and feed us to the tories"?
He said "tourists" but now I wish they said tories lmao
13:01 ZIGGY TIME!!
Also, more of Phelan's childhood fancomic, please.
Lol
More like Prince and the PAWper
