My boyfriend and I were together at 16, married at 22 had 2 beautiful daughters. My husband was in the army and he passed away and there was so many people there from church , his work place and from Army national guard. He passed away at home from a heart attack and at the funeral service they handed me a folded flag that I put in a wooded and glass car in the living room weigh his Army picture. I never remarried cuz z he was my one and only love. I have one granddaughter and one grandson. I miss my husband everyday day. He was so handsome and had a great personality and was so funny!! He’s in Gods hands and I will see him again!! 🙏💖💕
I did an escort duty the year I retired in 96. This is pretty accurate. Back then, though, we didn't have as much assistance as was shown. I even had to assist the funeral home in dressing the Marine. This man was an organ donor, so that added a whole new level of anxiety. I also got the questions from the family as depicted in the video. In the end, it's all about the family, and whatever uncomfortable feelings I had was nothing. I wouldn't say that I would like to do it again but would if asked. It's an honor you can never forget.
I’ve stood at attention beside my own soldier for the entire funeral and carried his ern, tears rolled down my face at times or times I thought I would pass out from the pain of standing at attention so long. When it was over Top and I went back in to funeral home to get stuff and broke down together, I will never forget that day, neither will anyone who experiences this.
I’ve been watching several of Army casualties and all I did was crying my eyes out! Salute to all branches of services. God bless your u alll!!🙏💖💕
