Lance, great respect, I sent in that clip of you speaking French not to make fun of you (far from it) but to show how you made a huge effort to win over the hearts of the French people. A lot of riders don't give a sh*t about stuff like that but you made a big effort to learn the language when you didn't have to. Kudos to you and see ya in the douches! :)
@@GuitarguyRichard56 Lance tried to learn the language and in some interviews he speaks fairly well, using past tenses and conjugating verbs, you know, it wasn't like it was terrible. That's what most American cycling fans don't know: Lance gave interviews in French all the time and the guy made a huge effort. He probably took lessons, and quite frankly, he probably still speaks more French than George who is married to a French woman. See ya in the douches !

Guys thanks for the nightly entertainment as my wife who is waiting for me to start the show after a day of work for me at my LBS selling dreams and a lifestyle that inspires me every day to ride. Cheers from Toronto Canada.
Hi guys, love the show! My wife and I enjoy listening and laughing out loud at the banter. Lance I really appreciated when you came to Kalamazoo Mi and did the “ finish the ride” in honor of the cyclist that were run down by a pick up a few years ago. That was a something that was needed to bring more attention to those of us still on the road. It was a class act!
Wow, you guys just get better and better. At 75 I literally race to catch your after race show. I think it's brilliant. It shows that 105 is fine for a fraction of the price. Top end groups are lighter but way too expensive for most non pros who aren't rich wankers.
12:52 Lance, the riders on specific teams do not get to choose Disc Brakes OR Caliper Brakes depending on the stage or how they feel. The whole team is outfitted with either Disc Brakes or caliper brakes. For example, Team Ineos runs all Calipers, Lotto Jumbo runs all Calipers, they do not have the option for Disc Brakes. Ineos guys on the front kept looking a the head units during the technical run in. I think they must have a GPS track of the course with waypoints for roundabouts & pinch points.
Hey guys greetings from Maine love the show love the podcast question for Lance I know the other night you said at this point anybody's bike race but as of now in the top 10 overall classification which Riders have too much time to make up
Lance -- I've heard and mostly agree with your comments re the polka dot jersey. What do you think of Richard Virenque? He won the jersey 7 times, but do you think he was deserving of a "best climber" designation?
Sometimes when I'm riding, I like to pretend I'm on the big cols, reliving the great moments in cycling history, imagining I'm one of the greats. I'm sure a lot of amateurs do the same. My question is, what do the pros fantasize about when they're on the road alone? Do they think back on their big moments, reliving them in their imagination? Having different outcomes? Pulling the legs off of your rivals?
This show is the guilty pleasure of my day now, what am I going to do when the tour is over?? Also Lance, you have great sarcasm and dry humour, but you gotta enjoy the guys making fun of you! The stooges pic was done amazingly!! the point was for you 3 to look like them, not yourselves :)
George was spot on on why Bora kept pushing it even after Bennet sat-up. They were trying to drop as many as possible to allow Sagan to win the stage, but ironically it back-fired on them as they had nobody left to help Sagan in the end. Sam Bennett for the Green Jersey 🇮🇪🇮🇪☘☘
In1992 you won the First Union Grand Prix (road race) in Atlanta, Ga by beating Greg Oravetz in a 2 up sprint. You threw your water bottle at the start finish line on the next to last last lap, it slid about 25 yards and hit my feet. I picked it up, looked up, and ran for my life. There were about 100 people who wanted it. Still have it to this day.
What do you all think of Disc brakes failing on descents? Maybe why the leaders are going with rim brakes on mountain stages. Alaphilippe's front locked up so bad they couldn't even get the wheel off. Lopez's rear locked up and sent his ass into that road sign. Several other lock ups too.
Question for George, mainly because I’m not sure Lance can speak to it. Are there crashes in the groupetto, or is it “safer” than riding at the front of the race?
I am French and I agree. His French is not bad at all. It is just funny to hear some fancy accent & pronounciation but kuddos for him trying, that shows his champion spirit, always wanting to learn, improve and master a new stuff he wants to be good at. Keep learning and speaking French Lance, you are great at it!
@@kirikou306 Exactly ! Lance took the time and effort to learn French and it was good enough to be interviewed on French TV in French. He didn't have to do that. It means a lot that he made the effort for the French people. He certainly didn't learn French for the Americans. Kudos to you Lance!
Because he didn't need to do it, the interviewer was speaking in English and the target audience was not french-speaking.. It was a comedic moment, you are taking it a bit too seriously
Lance, riders attack less agressively when there is a downhill finish because they just wait for uphill finishes. So my point is that if we want more attacks on downhill finishes, we have to offer one less HC finish to the riders or maybe put every downhill finish the day after an HC finish. Also, we need more finishes on an "easy" climb after a hard one, such as Mortirolo - Aprica on the Giro or Iseran - Tignes last year on the tour. It forces riders to attack early and usually generates some big gaps.
gastown grand prix is around but it doesnt run every year it runs every other year instead. Still a great race and now we have BC superweek which is a week of cycling races that concludes with the White Rock road race a few miles from the Canada US border. Still alive and kicking Lance
Bernal had that nasty crash at the Colombian national championships. It was ugly, for sure. I wonder if he's still feeling the effects all these months later.
JB! here's something to talk to Lance about . If the gap between Roglic and Pogacar stays close until the time trial. Pogacar has a very good chance to win. That basically means will have won the TDF by himself, because he's team is never around him 🤔
Question for Lance and George: what cycling innovations will we talking about in 5-10 years? Nutrition, aerodynamics, artificial intelligence? For instance what if you could train an AI algorithm with Johan Bruyneel’s wisdom on race tactics?
Greetings from the Philippines!! Been a huge fan of LA and the USPS boys ever since! What do you guys think of the success of Team Sunweb with their aggressive three or two pronged attack, that got Hirschi and Kragh-Andersen the win? It seems to me they are applying master class tactics on road! 😊
Bernal, defending champion, seeing some of his best numbers, dropped and lost nearly 40 seconds. Roglic and Pogacar must have been on some pretty good juice through quarentine. Out of interest what happened to testing through lockdown? I guess the athletes could just go wild and hence the insane pace the race is going at.
To George's point at 12:50, Nairo Quintana did mention in an interview about the Colombian's making a pact and riding as a group to beat Roglic (and now Pogachar i guess), but this was soon blown out of the water by other Colombian riders who were quick to point out that Nairo has been cycling like a limpet without helping anyone other than himself or even looking like he was remotely willing to take a turn on the front for the last few years in grand tours, even when he was on Movistar and had a good support team behind him. Can't blame the other Colombian's to be honest, why should they help Nairo when he has shown no willingness to help anyone else and has been riding like a parasite for the last few years in grand tours. Best of luck to the other 3 Colombian's and the rest of the peloton.
Was totally thinking the same thing when Phil told his story. And he ended it saying something to the affect of "Thankfully I was eventually ok..." and I'm like "You're not going to say anything about the condition of the baby that was hit?!?!
Hey Lance thanks for reminding me to use my fanny pack again for rides I don't want to kit out that day and just casual rides :) ALSO Not have to wear a jacket to carry everything!!
King of the Mountains. 4th and 3rd category climbs, offer cash prizes. No points. 2nd, offer minimal points. 1st and HC offer points based upon difficulty and position in the race. So a HC in the first week is worth less than a HC in the final week.
Another Q. Considering that the two biggest teams are on rim brakes , going back to the 2000's would you guys have wanted to be first on disc or last like ineos and Jumbo. Thanks Guys love the content

Yes, true. I felt bad for Bernal when she was speaking about that
cmoon.upload the stage 15 already
George, your second home is waiting for you anytime.
The rider calling for neutral service made the mistake of saying "NOT a drill", which was misinterpreted by the Mavic mechanic.
I too have been wondering when Thomas de Ghent will get his breakaway wheels on.
Did Fabio Castelli (Casartelli??) of Lance's US postal team ?? did not go over the cliff in 95?
Can someone please tell us
What happened to him?
He hit his head on concrete block in a fall and died.
No more TdF podium models. Opinion? George's advice how to wheel one?
Tour de Suisse (2021) is our last hope for podium girls
It's the new PC world unfortunately.
No more "double synchronized kisses" for the stage winners/Jersey wearers.
How sad.
There still have podium models, with a noticeable change. Now there is a boy and a girl.
Another Q. Considering that the two biggest teams are on rim brakes , going back to the 2000's would you guys have wanted to be first on disc or last like ineos and Jumbo. Thanks Guys love the content
We need that link to the LA French speaking interview
