Your the man.
🙏🙏🙏 many thanks
Hats off to Richard Carapaz who just keeps giving his all even when there is basically no team Ineos to back him up. He is making Ecuadorians proud.
I feel in love with him today
@@twotwoocritter watch the netflix documentary on Movistar it really shows his quality.
As a French man addict to my national race, I was very impressed by Carapaz performance. He deserves to win a big mountain stage in the future.
And today well, he did it again, he deserved the victory, but he seems fine with the second place, yet the jersey is still not secure, because if Pogacar wins the time trial he will win that jersey
@@mariobahama These two teammates should have compete. The Tour is a race ! It's not a hug meeting.
Hats off to Sepp Kuss. If there was an MVP award for stages, no man deserved it more today.
They still would have given it to a french rider.
the dude is a beast
No, Wout van Aert gets MVP. And i'm sorry, i'm not explaining it
@@davidodonaghue9617 well I'll simply say that Sepp's decision to bring Roglic back instead of chasing Miguel for the stage win has possibly decided the outcome of this race. Pogacar needed to close the gap today and might have done it if Roglic had cracked.
I feel like Sepp could’ve won the stage
17 tours! Respect
I think that this has been the best Tour in years. So many new names being brought to the front. The race for the green jersey is exciting and seems new.
Just spot on brilliant commentary and really entertaining interactions. Nice repartee today between great friends! Thanks guys!!!!
I literally have to pull my car over and cry everytime you play the Lance speaking french clip, I get the giggles and cannot drive! Thanks guys for making my daily commute so fun, and forgive me Lance but please make a "Timecheck" ringtone or something!
Absolutely loved hearing Lance reflect about his time visiting troops overseas with Robin Williams. It’s apparent how much of an effect Robin had on Lance. Thanks for sharing tour stories and how the time with Robin shaped you Lance !
I'm a USMC vet from an osprey unit(VMM-161) and I contest your fear of the almighty osprey. Best bird in the sky.
Semper fi
Thanks for the show guys it's providing some entertainment to help me get through the lockdown here in Melbourne Australia. It's a great balance having the three of you together.
I thought Carapaz' last push was amazing. Fantastic insight from George's contact to know that the players were holding back a bit for the final push. It really looked like Carapaz was just crushing everyone from my side of the TV.
How about Sepp Kuss?! Holy cow, what a ride! I think we'll be seeing a lot more of him in the Tour.
Today's show the crew took a turn towards being professional presenters. Thank you for a great job. Ride to the level of your smile.
great show! worth the wait every night, and still wake up in 6 hours for my ride at 4am. greetings from South Africa ;)
Exactly what I do as well :) hello from Johannesburg love the show!
Love the show, gonna miss it after the tour ends
Grateful for my show The Move !! Always look forward to the next one. Peace be with you 4 , and keep up the great work
Indurain was said to have a rest heart rate of 28. Marc Battard (a French star Alpinist in the 80s) also had a rest HR bellow 30. Keep up the good work guys, love the show!
Highlight of the show cue Alan..... 😂 Brilliant!!! The man himself is on the show. Well done lance and Co.
What a show guys !!! Full of knowledge and sense of humor 🇨🇴
Great show as always, GH got the winner, great day for Colombia, GRANDE SUPERMAN!!!
Nice tribute to Robin. Love the show.
Yes JB, it’s Missouri, MO. I liked the pic of Robin and Lance
Mountain Top finishes are the best period!! The tour is about climbing!! Watching the riders descend like they do is impressive and I don’t take anything away from the sprinters but the tour is about climbing prowess.
Robin Williams LOVED cycling and bikes. he was a huge collector of old/rare bicycles afaik
I met Lance at Bagram Afghanistan. I remember he didn't like running "the loop" with all of the dust and smoke from the burn pits. It was still awesome to meet him there.
JB as we gear up to review Sunday’s stage, can you please review the SAVAGE counter attack by George at 1 kilometer to go to bring Mark Renshaw and Mark Cavendish to win in 2009. Brilliant move during the last stage in Paris! [Stage 21]
Nice seeing Alain the French guy, he seems cool. How ironic to hear him say Le timecheck as french translation of the timecheck! And how fabulous was the slide of Frenchie LA with beret, stache & baguettes under arms!
This guy is definitely not a translator. Correct translation of time check is point intermédiaire.
@@lambertlambert7076 yes I saw that early below. Though as a French (Idk if you are too?) if you say timecheck most French will understand, at least the younger generation will. Myself I say daily "je vais checker mes emails" rather than the french word that would pass for that (regarder ou verifier?!!). Some english words are understood easily just because in general use in French simply. Franglish does exist, LA did not invent anything!!
Thank you George.
HEART RATE. I thought your (Lance & George) RHR would of been lower in your heyday! I’m 43 yrs and RHR of 40-41. When I was at school I wanted to be a Pro, but life happened for many reasons and I went off the rails. I still ride every day and love it still. Not sure if I would of made it but our paths may have crossed. I was living very close to Sean Yates when you were training with him in the south east of England. What ifs hey!!??
I have love the move since you started it!!!!!
You guys were so juiced you felt NO PAIN!!!!
😂
As George mentioned, today Lopez took advantage of his strength in high altitude. Just like Quintana on the Portet back in 2018, or Bernal in the Alps last year. That could look like a surprise, but in fact it's not. Tomorrow is a much lower altitude, I don't think he will be as good as today
lucky me i put a bet on Lopez for this stage
Miguel Indurain resting heart rate was 28. Mine is high 30s. Rolland for polka dot win!
@@stevec6232 Indurain has acknowledged that this was a one off freak measurement. His HR was somewhere mid 30s normally. 25 bpm is simply a faulty HRM.
Best shot of the night, you and Robin - we miss him too/
Cool to see Alain!
Imagine Fighting for the top 5 and getting beaten by Not only Roglic but His helper... This Team ist stacked beyond everything...

If I ever meet you Lance all I will say is Le time check and see us in the douces
I WOULD LOVE, to see the back peloton getting up to those steep hills. Can we get some insights into what happen to the rest of the peloton? Do they. walk? Can they walk up?
It has been said that there should be riders walking handling bike on hands, but it's not confirmed if it was the case.
Completely agree, it would be (somewhat morbidly) fascinating! I wonder if those riders would enjoy having cameras along their climb though
I don't think walking with your bike is allowed but I doubt they would make the time limit walking.
They can walk. They can't run although Froome did it a few years back (different circumstances). Pretty sure they can all pedal up the mountain, they just can't race up the mountain like the climbers can. There is a time limit and getting off and walking would almost ensure them not making the limit.
Dude...these are the best pros on the planet. I could be wrong but I seriously doubt any of those guys had to walk up the climb.
George, Colorado lady here and I always wave to folks on a ride. 😉
Ooh. George said what I was thinking. Just roll through it egan to Paris. Yes
What a great stage. Superman Lopez was so strong, he just rode Primo, Pogacar and Porte off his wheel. Kuss maybe could have gone with him. To my mind, it was the best stage so far.
Question: I noticed Alaphilipe changed his bike early on the first climb. Do you guys think that was a gearing decision, ditch the standard chain ring for the compact?
Thank you for answering my question guys.
Please soomeone show Lance the clip of Robin Williams with the flag going down in Kuwait. Especially the last 10 seconds where he asked the soldiers if they got the photo they. Amazing man.
Sir G great pic for the stage win 👏🏾👏🏾
"For as liberal as Robin was, and as progressive as he was, he loved our troops." This podcast is great, and it's great because of who you guys all are. That quote from Lance, however, seems to imply that he finds it surprising that a progressive, liberal American might love or care about American soldiers, and that he considers Robin Williams an exception. Please clarify! Thanks.
Yeah... it's not like liberal, progressives have shown any dislike for those wearing uniforms and armed with guns lately, right?! Or for that matter pretty much from the Vietnam era on, right?! Have a number of liberal friends who are patriotic, but to pretend there's zero merit to Lance's comment is to be delusional.
Most liberals today hate not only the troops, but America and Western civilization as a whole (and often themselves to boot).
"i don't think team bahrain will be pulling from the beginning" awesome, laughed my ass off.
At least they tried. Nowadays there are not many attackers anymore. Contador was one of the last GC guys who actually attacked, even when it meant his downfall for that day, he was not ok, with just riding behind the strongest team. These days Riders rather protect their 6th place as to go for yellow, even riders who have been on the stage before. I dont understand that, nobody truly cares wether you become 6th or 10th
"Le time sheck" 😆😂😂
Google Translate also thinks "timecheck" translates to "timecheck" in French lol. However, if it's spaced out to "time check", it becomes "contrôle du temps" which doesn't sound too concise? I have a feeling that Alain wasn't kidding though and that "timecheck" could be a loan word?
point de contrôle intermédiaire
Just a great show!
Yo Mo.....Time Check!
I need this on a T-shirt
Here's what I find odd about the Bernal story. The news said back and knee. An interview with the team director said he felt "flat". No mention of knee or back.
I know in the last few km Pogacar looked close to his limit, but knowing how important rhythm is to climbing, makes me wonder if the 15 seconds he lost to Roglic would have been erased or at least less if he didn’t have to push that fan to get out of his face?
Last time I was this early, Bernal was still in TDF
He quit. He’s a quiter.
Maria Martins
Yeah, you wouldn’t even finish one stage
@@mariamartins367 I agree. As much as im not a fan of Froome he would never do that, and in fact we saw that when Thomas won that he did not abandon ship when he realized the tour was lost.
Hi guys. Love the show. Any interest in commenting on the ladies races going on? Seems to me there is a big gap between the few top finishers and the rest of the peloton.
Bang on regarding Egan. I think sponsors would have continued getting air time with them keep discussing him. And he could have helped his team to try and get a stage win.
Hi JB what do the boys miss most about there pro days ? All the best great show.
Agreed, George. Respect the race. You gotta wonder though, is there something going on Ineos isn't saying...
Alain, what is the bomber jacket you were sporting? Fantastic style, my man.
I almost wonder if Sepp could have passed Lopez at the end when he surged because it almost looked like he was told to back off and pick up Roglic by the team director.
No he told a dutch journalist that he couldn't follow Lopez and choose to help Roglic, he didn't wanted to go to far in the red
@@tjvsupporterspodcast3113 that could be games too - he looked pretty fresh. Either way Kuss is exiting to watch
Nope, he looked done to me. Look up the elevations of that climb vs Mont Ventoux.
Another awesome show. Loved Allan. See you in the douches
JB, Sean Kelly on tv, speculated, that Bahrain's tactics on stage17, may have been to prevent Carapaz from winning, Rod Ellingworth, former Sky employee, is now Bahrain general manager
a bit of a stretch. would make more sense if movistar was pulling as carapaz pulled the plug there.
Mont blanc is just under 5000m, pikes peak is like 4300. Alps are higher than the rockies. Some climbs and cols in the alps go to 3000 just like the rockies
I was digging what Astana did today, I knew they where coming for the podium. EF should have seen Astana/Vinokourov coming
Hey George, Some people just don't get it. I wave to every rider even when passing or being passed. It is the right thing to do. They do start to wave back after a few days. And like Lance said, some don't lift their hand far from the bar.
It's Colorado. Very career- and goal-oriented. Super serious about their cycling and super high standard. About 50% wave and 50% have their head in their ass. Pros and former pros are usually very good about waving, especially if you're wearing a team kit. It's the cat 3 and 1/2 profamateurs who are the snootiest.
carlos flanders same here in SoCal some are way to “pro” to wave 🙁 or taking the Strava segments way to serious. But for new riders out there WAVE, say hello when passing and check on other riders stopped along side the road👊👊👊
Need to get Sagan on the show........and make party 😂
What a blast it would have been if Robin Williams could have joined an episode here...
The internet says that Tadej has to wear the polka dot jersey tomorrow so Enric Mas will be in white
Senior Cycling yes, the polka dot takes precedent over the white jersey and if you have all 3 its the yellow jersey that wins. Green would take precedent over white as well. Of course nobody would ever have green and Polka dot, although if I remember well Merckx did have yellow, green and polka dot and I don’t think white existed at the time.
Greetings from the Philippines again! ..... "And make paarty!" Is one of the funniest things I've ever heard from you guys 🤣
As you guys pointed out, tomorrow is a day of endurance in the mountains. I remember the 3 Pogacar's wins in the Vuelta last year were in days with a lot of climbs. Even the stage of Los Machucos had a lot of small climbs run at a crazy pace before the final ascent.
Last thing, remember Pogacar beat Roglic the Slovenian TT championship.
Pogacar is only a 57s.
=> The GC battle on this tour is not over and my money is on Pogacar for tomorrow
Greetings from France
Forget it. It’s over.
Pogačar need atleast 60 to 90 seconds advantage to even get close to Primož.
In TT...
In that same Vuelta, Pogacar lost 1.30 minutes to Roglic in the TT.
@@mariamartins367 IT'S NEVER OVER UNTIL IT'S OVER
What Tour de France (or any grand tour) had the most total elevation gain throughout all the stages and how does 2020 TDF rank in that order.
Very good question
Rider in the lead group today clearly took a musette with 15.3k remaining showing on the screen. Same thing that cost Aliphillipe the yellow jersey 20 seconds and a fine. Where were the race marshalls. Believe it was Yates.
Sepp Kuss is "The Durango Kid."
And we got Tejay and Neilson Powless. I think Kuss and Neilson could be GC guys one day. Being a CO guy I’m a huge Kuss fan!
@@meastabrooks1 I'm sure Tejay is relieved not to have to be under such a spotlight this year for the first Tour since he won the white jersey.
@@charliedillon1400 it's hard to be in the spotlight when you're fighting for the lanterne rouge
Bob Roll just called him the Durango Kid!
there were 34x30s on some bikes.
The "Change my Mind" thing is from a comedian who has a UA-cam channel and a pod cast called "Louder with Crowder" and "The Mug Club" respectively. He goes to college campuses with one of his conservative viewpoints and asks the students to change his mind. It is actually pretty entertaining (especially if you hold his viewpoints).
Todays Stage (Thursday)... @Lance Armstrong is it okay to hug when you and your team mate win together?
We here in CO. KUSS we can.. Elevate your game..train high sleep low.. or high,, OURA
@19:45 "Genius tactical move"??? In this instance, George is giving Jumbo Visma too much credit. 😂 That was NOT a strategic move to send Sepp Kuss up the road.
It was pretty clear Sepp thought Roglic was still on his wheel. If Sepp's intent was to take away one of the time bonuses from Pogacar, he wouldn't have sat up almost immediately to wait on his team leader.
Thank you Lance for not expounding on your opinions of team directors today. And you're right it's not worth it.
Interesting to hear about the gearing for such a hard day. From TSF page, Porte's bike is shown as being a 50cm Emonda disc, with 52/39 X 10/33 with 25c tubs. My question is are disc braked bikes an advantage or disadvantage on a 'climber's' day? Thanks.
110% agree with Lance, it should not be possible for a rider like Cosnefroy having the polkadot shirt. Wait to give points until there is actual Mountains. Pogacar have done recon on that time trial with Danish U23 time trial World Champion Mikkel Bjerg. I think he will do very well.
Can we get Lance's "Premiere Time check" made as a ringtone
Question for Johan, how long do you think it will be until Sepp Kuss will be a major contender in the GC?
No way!!! I thought Alain was a computer generated voice!!
He's da bro
Hi guys new to the show. I was watching the stage today wearing my oura ring and road id bracelet, drinking a little patron and just wondered, could richie porte could win the ironman?
ironman tasmania is not quite ironman australia
Much love from Indonesia! Enjoying this show very much and looking forward to it literally every morning when I wake up (we have a time difference of around 12h)
Question:
Doesn’t it be seem that Adam Yates is the strongest rider, considering that most of the times he finishes the last third of the stage completely alone without any help from his teammates.
Roglic is the best rider, yes he has the strongest team, but eventually everyone has to ride with their own two legs. Thats why this sport especially on the steep climbs is very honest, its man vs man
I don't know why but watching Roglic chase Lopez is so similar to Lance and Pantani up Ventoux.
Great show.. see you ahead a pic of Pantani and Jan. How did you find Jan as a rival. Because you both had very different pedaling actions..
the only rider lance feared.
Guys great podcast, but the pronunciation of names, yeez. Here are some helpful tips: Roglič ( Raw glitch ) , Pogačar ( Paw gha char ).
Hope it helps!
finally Alain! Merci mec :)
I agree with a Lance. The king of the mountain can be getting dropped at the beginning of a classified mountain stages. The polka dot jersey should held by the rider with most classified mountain stage and. Let’s say, first mountain comes up and the winner of that stage will wear the jersey. Another mountain stage comes up and we have a different winner then the jersey is put on hold and will be on until a rider gets 2 mountain stages wins...the jersey will be put on hold until there is a rider holding most wins...
Lance and George...I'm hoping you can explain the stage 17 Bahrain tactics. Why would they line up at the front all day when Jumbo is clearly the strongest team? Why not just put Landa behind the last Jumbo rider and save the team for the end? Telekom did the same at the 2001 Alpe d'Huez stage (it's been bothering me for that long).
Hello you guys talk about disc vs caliper brakes what about cables vs electric shifting. Is anyone still using cables? Thanks
Lance you firing today man!!
Agree george! Finish the race....
I love Richard Carapaz' fighting spirit and I dearly hope that being thrown into the Tour because Thomas wasn't on schedule with his fitness, won't cost Carapaz the season. After all, he was originally targeting the Giro and from what we're seeing this week, that would have been great timing. Meh.
P.S. For me Froome was on schedule, just still on the "recovering from that horrid crash of last year"-schedule and not on the "let's finetune my tdf form"-schedule.
It is quite possible that Bernal had corona virus and tested negative, back pain and lack of energy are pretty spot on symptoms for mild cases
Both of George's parents are from Colombia..
Now when I take my dog outside I say, "Make Potty"
great episode
Wow .. finally Lance is at peace with the Polka Dot jersey wearer !!!! .. by now 😉
thanks for the bike!
I have some picture of TDF riders walking up the hill after bunking with no energy left
"..respect the tour and sport" 👌
Said the US postal guys.
Their blind spot is bigger than Texas.
The way Lance just straight man crushes Jan Ullrich... best TDF rivalry ever!
He knows and loves Jan who gave him a hard time
