Great work Chris! Ive lived in Ohio on and off since 2000 and even in the suburb north of Columbus I grew up in, I'd see huge bucks walking around. We had a nice size park in the front of the neighborhood with tree lines and a creek. So I know thats where the deer enjoyed being.
Just recently got my son involved in shooting bows at 9 years old. We are both a big fan. Just wanted to give a big shout out for BEing REAL lol. We enjoy the informational reviews and how to’s as much as the hunting videos. Thanks for being humble and sharing your knowledge, I’m sure there’s a lot out there that know or understand what you talk about. I have learned a lot myself but my son asks me questions all the time that he shouldn’t know to ask lol. Making a difference for the kids is priceless!
A lot of people argue that hunting over corn is unethical because you feed and wait but last time I checked that is what I do not over corn is sit and wait for deer. I hunt over corn because it is an advantage allowed so why not use it.
I wish I knew a good area to hunt. I have a small plot of land and a stand at the back. I get decent activity, several bucks and does on cam, but they are always there before dawn and after dusk. Never really show up during hunting hours.
Nows your time. Rut always brings the deer out during the day. Had a buck run following a doe right under my stand at 1pm today. First buck I seen all season... and boy was he on a mission!
Just starting my vacation from work, have two weeks off and going to be hunting as much as possible before MN rifle season starts. Watching this is good fuel for the fire to get out and hunt hard.
Right on! Live in North Central ND. Was able to bait but not anymore. I used to bait all the way till spring to help the animals make it through the hard winters we can get.
Nice buck and great shot man .... Just a little side note .... I think that when you get time from hunting you should revisit the 400 yard shot you attempted back with the Hoyt bow but try it with a Mathews target bow this time.
I lived and hunted in Ohio for 35 years I killed a lot of big bucks and a lot of small butts but the biggest bucks I've ever seen in my life come from Southern Ohio Jackson County nice Buck man that's a really nice buck
Awesome buck dude. I hunt in southeast Texas on a lease feeders going all year. We get pics of big bucks but during season they rarely hit the feeders. Area is so thick they hide the know your there they know what's going on they ain't stupid they big for a reason. People get all in air about bait but what about those ranches with 12 foot fences. Keep up the good work man.
But it's not "hunting" anymore, it's baiting. Different category. You bring them to a specific location, instead of finding their natural travel patterns. Not trying to start anything. Just throwing my two cents in.
@@Showtime_Squirt I don't do because it makes it to easy. I don't have a problem with others doing it but I prefer to find rubs and scrapes and game trails to hunt deer. I don't even own a trail camera because it's cheating as well. I don't go looking for trophies I hunt to fill the freezer.
Chris have a question hope you can help me out I’m looking to get a new bow was stuck between a Hoyt rx5 and the Matthews 27 v3 always been a Mathews guy but I see all these videos about how the Matthews 27 v3 is splitting knocks I’m a big whitetail and bear hunter what millimeter arrows do you shoot out of your v3 for whitetail I really need your help so I can prevent that from happening
Whats it like having a nice truck and hunting all over the country I still remember when all you had was a car and a treestand in Michigan keep the vids up i love them you inspired me to shoot competitive archery thanks for that
If your anti baiting it is because you are jealous your state doesn’t allow it. Also mature deer are smart and bait doesn’t automatically mean you will harvest one
I’ve lived and hunted in Ohio for over 30 years. Most of the serious hunters are anti bait. Sure, the mature buck don’t frequent it in daylight, but it keeps them nearby, keeps deer in the area. It makes it a mature buck habitat. It’s a huge advantage. 10 year olds can harvest a 140” every season if they are hunting over bait. True hunters don’t even think of using bait
Nothing to do with being jealous, has to do with training, every animal trainer uses food to get animals to perform, every farmer uses food to move animals, huge difference pursuing an animal, "on the animals terms"
What a typical and dumb comment from a pro-baiter. You're just like every other baiter who won't admit baiting is easier to kill something. Takes the fair chase and challenge out of it, no ifs ands or buts about it. What the hell would another hunter be jealous about. I'd rather go every year without killing a deer versus killing a deer over bait; the state record could walk out and I still wouldn't shoot something over bait.
Hey Chris, I’m looking to buy my first compound bow. I’m just a poor college kid so I’m looking at a very low price point. I found a Bear Archery Attack from 2010 for $275 and it’s in good condition. Do you have any thoughts on this specific bow?
Shooting right behind the shoulder is a lung shot while shooting through the shoulder will usually get you to the middle of the heart. The bone curves out along the shoulder blade so that’s why it goes right through the deer and doesn’t hit bone.
Did you go out there and scout it? Did you try and figure out where to put a stand? Did you put your sweat and blood into this? You did not. I like your information on archery knowledge. But you are getting sucked into a commercialized vortex. You don't deserve to kill the animal you killed. Because some one grew that deer for you. A champion target shooter does not mean knowledgeable hunter. Hey. Gather all the freebees and money and shit while you can.
@@codyec Too much emphasis has been placed on showing an achievement that has not been earned. Everyone gets a trophy syndrome. Well. I understand certain people are going to get certain treatment to secure their BRAND. I am just expressing the truth.

Nice buck but not a Stud for Ohio ,can you imagine what he would have scored the next season? He could easily added 20 plus inches, and how much the year after that?
Not for nothing but for any new hunters out there this is NOT where you want to aim on a deer. Chris is a skilled archer and can split tic tacs if needed. That shot was 1” away from being too forward or too low. Most ethical shot for most is a double lung. Again Chris skill level allows him to do that so he’s the exception.
We hunt over bait in Texas, we have better luck in the draws between cornfields in Illinois. Don t knock baiting because it’s not as simple as you think.
Baiting is for chumps, sorry but it is. Unless you're a kid starting out, old or physically disabled then baiting is for lazy people. Take the time to find their normal feeding patterns and EARN that kill. Baiting IS that simple.
Hello all you have to do is use scent control and put some time in when your hunting over bait! Then on top of the 1 1/2 - 3 year olds they let walk. Shit most of you don’t go out to your tower blinds til 4pm
@@Dennisgoyette from personal experience, it’s easier hunting Illinois/Kansas, than hunting a feeder in Texas. “Baiting is for lazy people” lol so in Texas, when every property around you baits, I’m supposed to earn that kill and not bait right?

No hate here. As long as its within the guidelines and rules of hunting in that state, YOU HUNT THAT CORN PILE BRO
Preach it nice

Hunting over bait, is still hunting. If it's legal, why not? Like you said, definitely a different element to it
