- Taco Bell came out with a crispy chicken and cheese empanada called Crispanada. It comes with a side of spicy ranch dipping sauce. Well I decided to make my own and I think mine are better.
Ditch the drive-thru and level up your Taco Bell cravings! This homemade empanadas recipe captures the iconic crunch and melty cheese of the original, but with fresher flavors and way more bang for your buck. Tender, seasoned chicken gets wrapped in a golden, crispy shell bursting with gooey cheese. It's the ultimate handheld cheesy chicken golden brown crispy deliciousness, all made in your own kitchen!
INGREDIENTS
12 pastry empanada dough discs
1 lb cooked chicken shredded
2 cups cheese
1 tsp light chili powder
1 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp chicken bouillon powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp ground cumin
SPICY RANCH DIP
8 oz sour cream
1/2 envelope of Ranch seasoning mix
1 Tbsp chopped chipotle peppers in adobo sauce

Look in our freezer section on the international side, Goya does sell premade empanada dough and enjoy.

There is simply no sliver of this universe where Taco Bell can make anything better than or as good as Angelica. But it was nice to see how easy it can be to make an interesting snack. I’ve never seen prepared empanada pastry dough, and I will have to look for it in California. ( I laughed that you packed these for a field trip back to the bell for a show down).

The dough discs aren't available where we live. Do tou think regular purchased puff pastry dough would work, cut into circles? Or maybe egg roll skins? Those look sooo good!

I rather make my own too wish i have not made for a few years I go to a Puerto Rican restaurant or bakery. Just got to make sure they are a 4 or 5 star ⭐ not everyone knows how to do it right try it from one of them and let me know how you like it. They make it in defrent ways,👍

Yes, I managed to make 12 if these with left over filling. The dough I purchased in the freezer section of my local grocery store.
Can you do a test? Can you reinvent a low calorie corn tortilla? I've been looking for recipes on how to make from scratch a low calorie corn tortilla. All macros are fine for mr, I just want low calorie tortilla.
