After watching the movie Les Mis, I wanted to show my husband what Valjean was actually supposed to sound like, and I came across this stunning performance by Alfie Boe. Thank you for making me cry; beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!
May I add what comes to my mind when I hear this song - every single time. My brother, Edward, was in auto accident which ended his young life. I - always - think of my poor mother when she first learned about her son. They both are in Heaven now together. This brings me peace. I hope they both are in peace as well. 🙏❤️ 😢
If you have never experienced Alfie Boe live, I have to say you must make the effort if you can. He is a presence - a true force of nature, with a level of energy that is truly astonishing. There are waves of humor that leave you rolling in the aisles. Then...as you settle in to listen, his voice grabs you by the throat and leaves you gasping for breath. He is that good. I saw him with the Phoenix Symphony and the musicians of the orchestra were in tears right along with the audience!
My last memory with my late auntie heather. Was seeing alfae boe live at caird hall . Met him afterwards hes so humble and a gentleman. Meeting a legend and saying goodbye to another one
SO REAL; saw him in les miz on broadway for my birthday when i was 9 on his final weekend and my god he was incredible and the sweetest person ever, truly an unforgettable experience
I heard this song in concert when my son was serving our country in Iraq… the song grabbed be by the throat and wouldn’t let go; I couldn’t breathe. I look over at my husband, and he had the same reaction. What a beautiful emotional song, perfectly done here. ❤
I’ve seen Les Miserables three times. So soon as we are past this Covid pandemic, it’s the first performance, I shall book and, no doubt, I shall cry once more.
I have seen it 8 times so far and still get goose bumps. I am 58 now and just decided to visit it 4 more times at least till I die. Unfortunately it is not shown in Germany on a regular basis anymore. Wish all of you a chance for more visits! And Alfie for me is also the best „Home Run“! 😄😄
What a voice! So powerful, yet tender and vulnerable, and full of emotion! This song always sounds like a prayer, and his facial expression and especially eyes are so expressive that they make me cry. I can feel him vibrate like a musical instrument as he sings this like an angel!
