      @@babybasumatary7494but women go through it differently bruh there is a norm in China & south asian ,south east asian countries that women should be fair and men can be light,brown, tanned,same in india during match making light & dusky men prefer light skin women,even my cousin brother say that women should be fair and men can be light,brown ,tanned and he also said dark skintone men will get girls actually it's true in south men who are light and dusky get girls around them all the time but never seen a guy loving having a long term relationship with dusky skin women it's actually rare 💯

    I hate that Indians still have this mentality. I have Dad who made me feel so good about myselt. I am very dark skinned and had cousins who were so light skinned. Their parents my mom's siblings, would look down on me and my brother and even with all that, we hate their small mindedness but our Dad really showed us the light.

      simplymeg I embraced my skin color at a young age too. I also was never called names because of it. It's hard for me to relate to others that struggle with this. that's why I listen to others struggles to try and understand. Yes I feel like in the black community we embrace our melanin and our brown skin more than Indian people (not all but a lot from what I’ve seen). Their brown skin is beautiful and I want them to embrace it like we do and let go of that old toxic white washing way of thinking.

      What’s interesting is Indians have a much easier time being accepted by Caucasians than black Americans and Africans. We need to stop this colorism foolishness. We are all beautiful as God has created us. People who are overly concerned with color are trapped in a vortex of self-loathing. I say that because clearly those types feel so inadequate that they use the cheapest most surface level element of a human being to judge them and create a hierarchy. I don’t believe people should segregate. And people who will segregate over such a weak premise don’t truly understand who GOD is and the magnificence of what God designed...

      U do have a point. If ur dark skinned & eat all types of scavengers, processed foods, drink alcohol consistently, & smoke.... then yes u will speed up the aging process because ur natural filters (liver & kidney) cannot function efficiently.
      So when u see dark people looking
      "worn down" study their lifestyle.
      Caucasian people naturally take a backseat to skin youthfulness and vibrancy when compared to the darker people of the earth. This is not to say that this makes darker people "better" than Caucasians. It points to a physiological difference in our collective make-up in contrast to the Caucasian. Henceforth the colloquial saying, "black don't crack". Especially true when a dark skinned person is eating correctly, drinking correctly, etc.
      Take it or let it alone.

    Please, don't allow the world to make you think you're ugly because of your skin tone. There's nothing wrong with you!
    I'm a very dark-skinned African-American, and I've dealt with similar issues while growing up. It can be tough living in a culture that celebrates lighter skin tones; something that seems to be more prevalent outside of the states, but standing up to such standards and not being afraid to be who or what you are shows a type of beauty that will stand the test of time.
    Keep smiling in sunshine and being lovely! :)

    I went through the same thing. I was the darkest girl among my sister's and I got teased for it along being plus size growing up. As I got older, I said this to myself: God made me like this and love the skin you're in. Every since then, guys are chasing after me. And later, I had a cousin that we look alike, we can pass as sisters. But I also found that the same people who teased me had gain weight. And I say to myself, now I lost weight and you gain it. Who's looking good now. All I'm saying is there is no one like you and love yourself 1st. Trust me, then people would want to be like you.😉

    Let's make this very clear...people always have a problem! I am fair skinned and Italian. My family always called me "ghost" and urged me to tan as I "looked like a dead person"...Truth, I am not even that fair skinned when compared to an English woman. I spent entire days under the sun to fit that standard of beauty when I realised that I had damaged my skin and now I have deeper wrinkles for my age. I embraced my fair skin and I still love when I am tanned but I also love when I am not. Do not let people set standard for you! They always have a problem. Stay away from bigots and keep close good people. My dad used to say that I am too skinny hence unattarctive, my mum that I am too pale, my brother that I am too short...Objectively, I am a beautiful girl and I love being the way I am.

    Nina- I totally TOTALLY understand exactly what you are saying!! I grew up with LOTS of Indians and it's really REALLY sad to see how the dark skinned ones were looked down on and passed over in marriage-- and I'm a christian and this happened in my church ALL THE TIME!! I grew so resentful of the ppl who brought this racism into the church on some very beautiful women. This caste system in India has ruined that nation's idea of beauty. Trust me as a black person I KNOWWWW what it is to called and treated ugly. You see how it is in the USA- Black is considered the most undesirable. smh. sad. love your skin and keep encouraging others that they are beautiful no matter how dark they are. I've been watching these types of videos on and off for about a month now. I'm a black male, who as a youth was called "high yellow" due to having lighter skin. And to be completely honest it bothered me to some extent. But I've long gotten over other peoples hangups and obsessions about skin. I hope if anyone is struggling with other peoples obsessions about your skin, you can find the love and support of those who will accept you for who you are. Certainly not by the color of your skin. Whether you're dark brown, light brown, olive, pink, alabaster, very dark or very light, know that if your heart is good that's truly all that matters in life.

I saw the movie because I saw the actress on the movie poster and that is what made me buy the ticket. There is a scene in the movie where a whole lot of Indian girls make comments about light skin vs dark skin and me, being Black, did not even know there was situation like that. There has always been stuff like that in the Black community and, I understand it is a little like that in the Latin communities also. What the hell? What ever you are, wear it with swagger.

    what's crazy is that God is dark and he made man in his image. the reason dark skin is attacked is because of the abundance of melanin that connects you to God. please don't let the devil fool you, melanin is a blessing and lack there of is the curse.

    • @abrown4414
      @abrown4414 7 років тому +2

      Ana It's time to face the truth the original man and woman were people of dark color as science has proven. The bible says that man was made in God's image. If this is true what does that tell you.
      Next do some research on how much melenin is studied, do you think science is spending billions of dollars for nothing?

    • @abrown4414
      @abrown4414 7 років тому

      Tell that to the those dealing with skin cancer and the like. Once again the first man and woman, who were melenated beings, were created in God's image. Facts are facts

    • @abrown4414
      @abrown4414 7 років тому

      Regina OLIVER My sister The Most High made man in his image and science has proven the melenated man was the first man. The reason you are under attack is that Satan knows you look like your father. Please remember that melanin is a direct connection to your father. It is a true gift from GOD.

    -You should love your skin tone no matter what
    -You don't need to be Pale for being beautiful
    -Change your thinking!
    -Change the world!
    -Start from yourself don't wait for world to change!
    -In UK and US people hate their -pale skin they wan TAN dark skin
    That we Indians usually have
    -Love your dark or dusky skin tone
    -Am not saying being pale is not pretty
    -Am just saying that being PALE only
    Doesn't means being beautiful ❤️
    -Every Skin colour is beautiful and unique in its own way

    I’m from the Caribbean (Trinidad and Tobago) I share similar features that you do, and unfortunately similar experiences. I’ve always been reprimanded because of my dark skin and even told to bleach it as well. I also find it strange that people don’t embrace melanin in Indians as much... but I’ll never change for anyone I’m happy as I am and idc who says otherwise. ❤️☺️

  • @catherinedavis1241

    I'm sorry that this is still going on in India and America! In my twenties, I tried to bleach my skin to look even more mixed than I am. I grew up listening to adults talking about how the light skin girls are pretty! As a result, I thought I was ugly far into my twenties.
    My point? You are brave and young; stay that way forever! You might disappoint many people who try and force their narrow-minded ways on you, but don't ever change. Your skin color is flawless btw!
    P.S. Many people think I am from India when I straighten my hair! Lolssss

    Imagine living with such narrowed way of thinking, believing that lighter skin tone is the ultimate beauty.
    I feel bad for them cuz they don't see the beauty in any other skin tone.
    Only if everyone paused and asked why do they think the way they do.

      They are also racist towards each other .., many factors and years of brainwashing is responsible for it.

    You are beautiful Nina. I am an Indian from Malaysia and everthing you say resonates. Only in my 50s, i learnt to accept and love my skin tone. It also didnt help that the makeup available from off the counters didnt have foundation tones for the tanned race. Its really silly, come to think of it. But society and peers have been notorious for this. We need to be comfortable in our skin and celebrate it.
