I was hesitating to book Qatar from Australia to Europe due to Qatar's practice of charging for seat selection, even in business. Now I know they'll ban passengers if they don't like their honest feedback, I booked Emirates. Keep up the great work, Josh.

But you've earned even more points in my book for your honest review of Qatar which rubbed the CEO up the wrong tree leading to a ban ! good on you man. That's how it should be. Thanks for the update, I have to admit I went off Qatar when they tried to blackmail Airbus over their A350's recently and it sounds as though they are up to their tricks again. If they cannot stand critisim then maybe it's time to get out of the airline business for good.
Great!! Now I'm actively going to recommend people to not take Qatar, just hoping this would snowball among other viewers/flyers into hurting the airline. I don't even care for their service, but for a major world player like QR, this is next to unacceptable.
Is this REALLY what it took? Not the Australian women who were forced off the plane in Doha at gunpoint, and vaginally searched without their consent? Qatar is a country that doesn't even allow women to show off their skin.
In Qatar airlines cabin crew are forced to live in company apartments which are riddled with CCTV, security guards and a swipe card so that the company can enforce a curfew to prevent them spending the night elsewhere. They’re forbidden from leaving their apartment for 12 hours before every flight. They need permission to get married or leave the country. And they can be fired on the spot for any reason-even the tiniest infraction such as wearing the uniform while shopping. They can get fired for being pregnant and have to ask permission from the Airline to get married. And more, lots more.
As a regular flyer to Middle East I always use Emirates and Etihad but last year for the World Cup I used Qatar Airways and found them very poor, inconsistency in terms of the seating and entertainment system on the B777 on the way there which was rubbish compared to the A380 on way back, food was just okay but then what shocked me most was as we came in to land back in UK they did not even carry out a check to see if everyone had brought their seats back up from recline or if seat belts were fastened.
@@apb1934 Took a business class flight with Etihad last week from London to Abu Dhabi. Shocking Service I can honestly say the service I have had with Emirates in Economy in the past was better than that. Not sure whats happening with these Middle East Carriers their standards are in decline.
After what Qatar airlines did to dozens of innocent female passengers ie forced gynaecological examination on the tarmac searching for a woman who abandoned a baby in the terminal I will NEVER fly with them. Not even an apology for their barbaric, misogynist behaviour.
Wow! I live in Abu Dhabi and was at the airport just yesterday. Insanly dissapointed about the fact that a very nicely reputated airline BANNED you. Glad emirates was a good experience. Hope u enjoyed UAE :)
And Josh Google the update of the 18 Australian women suing Qatar over invasive searches and also the Australian government disallowing Qatar extra flights to Australia. Disgusting men and I advise all women avoid Qatar and use other options. Look forward to Saturdays video!
This is actually a big compliment to you Josh, means you're right! And it is difficult to deal with feedback Every change offers resistance to humanity. 😉
As a pilot, I once aspired to join Qatar. Then I started hearing stories of how the airline put stringent constraints on how their crews behaved and spent their free time, so I dropped the idea. Later, I flew the airline from India to Europe via Doha. While the flying experience was par for the course, the transit checks at Doha were painful and abasing. Haven’t flown it again. At least our luggage reached with us…
Transiting in Doha was a bit strange. I saw a couple told to throw away their duty free (some sorts of drinks?) Stuff or they can't go through security and board. Folks were also told to remove ipad cover before going through the screening machine
My Uncle flew 1 time from India to JNB in Qatar, leaving Emirates, and I am unsure what he saw, but he never went back to Qatar and actively told his family to only fly Emirates because of their consistency. OneWorld seems less rewarding too compared to Skywards.
I flew Qatar in September (Singapore-Doha-Athens) and was in Doha for a day. I agreed with everything in Josh's Qatar video. Badly maintained plane interiors, terrible handling of keeping customers on a bus for 30 minutes in 40 degree heat with no aircon, no inflight entertainment on a 3-hour supposedly premium international flight. They might think banning Josh is just being spiteful to one person, but they're seriously wrong. Millions of potential passengers will now boycott them because of this one action. It shows how they respond to criticism, and it shows disrespect to anyone thinking about using them. I can't see myself ever using them again. Qatar might as well ban me too, I have no desire to ever go back to the country. Doha was a wasteland of a place from what I saw and is a metaphor for the country and Qatar Airways as a whole. I saw abandoned construction projects and already decaying Fifa World Cup signs with no effort to take them down only 9 months after it ended, and even saw a half-finished hotel near Souq Waqif with the foyer left wide open with nothing inside. I almost never saw any humans other than in cars and in museums, except when I tried to walk towards a metro station across an empty parking lot and was stopped by a security guard. A shopping mall with over 100 stores I went to was mostly empty in the early afternoon. The most ridiculous experience was an abandoned statue of a FIFA World Cup mascot along the harbour. Fencing had been put up around it but was pulled down, there were no security guards and no care factor for the fencing being completely useless, I spent 10 minutes there taking photos and never saw anyone.
UA-cam is big business and a marketing tool nowadays and QR has a lot of fellow UA-camrs that do not pay for their trips with QR and only write positive reviews. That is the problem Josh! You pay the trips yourself to do honest reviews and a lot of fellow UA-camrs take Free Business class seats, free lounge access and only write positive reviews like an advertisement for QR and others….. They forget that 80% of the people flying are seated economy class and do not have that luxury. Keep ongoing doing the honest reviews and I hope that this ban will cost QR a lot customers that avoid them flying in the near future!
You the man Josh love your honest opinions. Im sure Qatar will now lay out the red carpet for Sam Chui to give a glowing review of how great they are. As much as the middle east atabic countries try to prove how open and advanced they are. It just reeks of being openly false and phony, no matter how much cash they throw around.
you want honest real experience of what an ordinary person may get on the flights I don't follow Sam for that. I watch Sam to see how a VVIP is treated since i will never get that experience :)
@davidchan9187 Chui is not a vvip though and who knows if he paid or was paid for his reviews. So much of his channel seems fake, compared to every....other travel and airline blogger. Amazing how he is treated differently from everyone else, doing the exact same thing.
Sorry but Sam Chui is a "goody two shoes". I honestly don't trust his reviews as everything is always so wonderful and fantastic in his eyes. He definitely knows how to get his bread (or is it lobster) buttered on both sides .....😑

Disgraceful behaviour from Qatar. I have very well off relatives that travel Qatar every single year from Adelaide to Athens. They live their sites! I'm seeing them soon and will show them your video, and dissuade them from flying Qatar again soon. Thank you for showing how spiteful and vindictive Qatar can be. They will lose customers because of this, and justifiably so IMHO. Keep up your awesome work mate. X
Not problem for them Qatar behaves/ Show quite nice service from Australia to europe route. They just give this terrible racial treatment on South Asian routes like Sri Lanka, India , Pakistan, Bangladesh , Nepal
I think from now until the end of flight: EMIRATES AIRLINES BUSINESS CLASS A380 will be my favorite. They made my trip to Seychelles 🇸🇨, Maldives 🇲🇻 and Thailand 🇹🇭, unforgettable. The luxury of the flights and the lounges are awesome inspiring. I save up rewards points all year to reduce my Business class Expedition.
You’ve saved me from a disastrous long flight. Just yesterday my husband suggested that we fly Qatar Airlines. I didn’t like the connections but now I’m aware of issues with the airline. Many thanks.
Emirates economy class is my all time favorite as I’m also part of the 90% who travel on economy… This year (2023) I’ve flown 16 flights- All on Emirates A380 (mostly JED-DXB) and 1 flight on 777 DXB-Budapest Its always fun to travel on Emirates 😊
the logical thing would be to ask the guy who fly's for a living to have a meeting and discuss how they could improve as an airline. A business is nothing without feedback and Qatar really just embarrassed themselves.
Maybe the food is better when you are hungry; after all Josh, it was a bit of an excursion to have to drive to Dubai, and that made you more hungry. Also, if you don't go to the lounge before a flight and skip all the alcohol the food onboard tastes better. Of course, Emirates most likely is upping their game. Happy Landings!
Wow! I'm soooo surprised to see all these negative comments. We flew the A380 to South Africa, via Doha, and it was lovely from beginning to end. The plane was spotless, the crew was very friendly, the food was some of the best "airline" food I've ever had. The turndown service was great, the bathroom was clean and fully stocked, the flights were on time. I'm sorry you all had such bad experiences.😮
I flew on my first international flight on emirates 777 with my family. Since it was our first trip abroad (and first flight in a long while like 12 years since we had last flown) we wanted at least to have 2 window seats among the 4 of us . The twin seats at the rear of the flight was just perfect for us we selected those for both to and back from Dubai. The food was really good too totally worth it .
Difference with UAE is that they take Feedback quite seriously. Pretty much every service is either a Happiness center or a rating on your Happiness using the service.
Hi Josh, Wow can't say that I am surprised about QR's reaction and the bribe and ban tactics they did, I know somethings about them myself but I will wait for your video to see whether they match. Never supported them anyways, Emirates on the other hand, I have always appreciated their product, great Economy class, love it, I even got the rare opportunity to try their Business Class this year and I was excited and happy, Another Epic product that if I could afford would fly again and again. The food onboard was also great. I always have a fantastic experience each time I fly EK and I WILL FLY THEM AGAIN.
Recently flew Emirates on short and ultra long haul and the same with Qatar Airways back to back, and Emirates offers many items in their food try in economy compared to QR.
On your last video I flew around the same time I even got the same desert you did. My experience was the same the crew were not great also the food was the same. They served a few people in front of me and the only had 2 out of 3 opinions left. I agree with you! 👍🏼
Where in the world of companies wanting customer service feedback , you are exactly the person they should be using and thanking. This is the golden opportunity for their company to get the exact information to make their airline the best
I'm shocked and this makes them look like a bunch of pricks. It hurts their image even more. I'm sorry to hear about what happened and I would sue them when you get back to Germany if I were you. Enjoy your trip and stay safe!
Emirates has always been my go to airline for international travel. I heard from the grapevine that they are going to retrofit 53 Boeing 777 aircraft with 1-2-1 Business Class (Shocker!) along with Premium Economy in 2024.
Interesting - this guy posted two incredibly (and quiet unjustifiably) negative videos about Emirates a while back, and look - they didn't ban him! We can all now see which airline is better 😍
Qantas have just released new terms and conditions on travel with them. Mobile phones are not permitted on flights to film or photograph staff while travelling. 😮
Based on that, flight reviews do not need to show the crew - key words is film or photograph staff. Can still film outside, plane interiors, and the lavatories.
I’m so glad you made a joke about eating your greens! Whenever I see your finished tray, I’ve often noticed your salad or vegetables left. How do you look so fit and healthy without eating your veg?? Grossly unfair. 😂🤣
I have been a business traveller since 1990 - and mostly hating it. I was soooo happy when covid brought a bit of a holiday from business travel. Until Nov 2023 when i could not wiggle my way out of a night in Rome.😔😔😔 Also, it was the first time ever I ended up on Emirates. I normally did everything I could to avoid loooong lay-overs in Dubai. Well, let me tell you - 4 Emirates flights later, I only have good things to say. Their business class A380 out of JHB was astounding. The loooong layovers in Dubai were not as painful as I thought. Still hate travelling for business but Emirates sure softened the blow ❤❤❤❤
Even though objectively Qatar airways business class is better then Etihad. I decided to go for Etihad mainly because at least I won't be in risk of losing the cabin i booked, and i can't say the same for Q suite, seriously the equipment swap pisses me off and it's borderline a scam especially with how much I payed for it. Anyways it's a coincidence how in the related videos, there's a video about how Delta airlines saved passengers after that American airlines flight cancellation. It goes to show that they're still genuine good airlines out there.
I wouldn't be surprised if Emirates did the same thing, it's just they haven't been tested because they are not incompetent enough to screw up like qatar by having piss on the floor
@007knick Take a fucking look at the west before you judge UAE and Qatar…At least UAE and Qatar are conservative and modest countries of ethics and moral where LGTBQ and pedophiles are not allowed unlike the west…💀
I hope we get to hear both sides of the story. Airlines do ban people if they consider they are being portrayed in a bad manner or their shortcomings are being highlighted or sometimes just mid-management trying to hide their mistakes, but then some reviewers themselves are no saints, trying to blackmail airlines into sponsoring them or getting elite treatment or simply for views using controversy and click baits. It is important to investigate what really happened and hear both sides of the story before jumping to any conclusion.
Josh starts speaking = volume up Intro music = volume down Josh speaks = volume up Any music plays = volume down I love the content it is just too... interactive for me xD
This is not only shameful of QR, it reflects very badly on oneworld by association (though no other oneworld airline would stoop to this level…and I personally think it’s the best alliance), but there is a oneworld group CEO that needs to monitor the issue, and it should be on the agenda for their next senior group meeting. No member will ever be able or should control another member’s practices, but that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be discussed in an internal forum. If one member is offensive, it could affect other members…even if only marginally financially, it’s an alliance branding weakness.
What a shame for them. I've flown Qatar/Emirates/Etihad many times over this route and from Europe in Y class almost all the time. Qatar has consistently been the least satisfying experience. Doha's airport is very inconvenient too, confusing and dark. I've flown A380s most of the time and that's the precise reason why I favour Emirates now, although honestly Etihad's interior of their A380s is cosier and nicer. I don't like the 777. It's much noisier and feels more cramped. You gave me just another reason never to choose Qatar anymore in the future. Thanks.
Doha Hamad International Airport is one of the best satisfying Airports in the world. What do you mean by confusing and. And if this youtuber gets banned what does it have to do with you?
Food uplifted actually depends on where they are uplifted from ..as in the catering airline kitchen. Some countries their catering kitchen is a nightmare with massive cost cutting ... .
I've had a horrible experience with Qatar Airways. In 2021 we had 2 tickets (one way) on Qatar Airways. Owing to COVID restrictions the airline cancelled the tickets and issued vouchers. In late 2021 we used the vouchers to book 2 tickets from Male to London on Qatar. Everything looked fine and confirmed to at got to the airport. The check-in agent told us to call Qatar airways helpline in Doha.. On the call we were made to pay about $1100 to be allowed to board inspite of having valid tickets. We complained and NOTHING happened.
Goodness, just recently became a platinum traveller with Qatar and surprised they have done this. I have never had any issues with Qatar Airlines. Interesting video and look forward to seeing what happened ...
after Qatar refusing my request to bump up my return flight to an early date for an emergency back in #NewYork, I had to buy a new ticket on #emirates many years ago. Since then i fly #emirates DXB-JFK 2-3 times a year on A380, my fav seats around 44 row, plane, service, food all great.
Wow, that's a kind of serious thing being censored, cancelled and banned by Qatar. How will Qatar ever recover from this as the travelling world will learn about what negative feedback and review from a passenger can cause. Being silenced is not the right way to respond. I find it scary and really shocking
The Emirates 777 Business Class will eventually be upgraded to have the 1, 2,1 layout- my favorite. As is: you get a lot of legroom but the shoulder and hip room is disappointing. The A380 feels like a Maybach by comparison.
I would have tried to get on the Qatar plane anyway and filmed the results. I would bet they would have just taken your money and given you a boarding pass.
I was really excited to fly on Qatar for the first time last month (Nov 23) from Australia to Europe, after already flying with the other major “trinity” Gulf Airlines- Etihad and Emirates several times before. Unfortunately my experience was rather sub-par on all legs of my trip with inattentive crew members ( a few rude too) , poor food (some inedible which says a lot because I eat anything 😅) and confused and unhelpful ground crew in Doha Airport, one of whom had his eyes closed on the job as he was obviously so tired. Perhaps in other ticket classes or on a different aircraft my experience would have been better, but it really shouldn’t matter. Also, one could argue I just had bad luck but my experience was consistent on all 4x flights. Qatar banning you is completely unacceptable and a further deterrent from flying them in future, especially when there are other more consistent and better (in my view) options such as Singapore Airlines, Qantas, Emirates, Etihad and Cathay Pacific. Your experience just adds to the list of concerns I’ve read such as the female gynaecology check story in Doha airport, staff curfews and poor staff treatment, among others.
I've always said that, while Qatar Airways offers great inflight experience, they have among the worst customer service in aviation. It's almost like they care very little about their customers until they're on board. I'm hoping that the post-Al Bakar regime will lead to improvements.
@@slavedriver394 I flew Qatar Airways on November 19th and 20th between Lagos and Manama. The inflight service was excellent, but the ground service was just ok.
Qatar staff at Edinburgh were rude to me. Had all documents for flight but I guess they were overbooked, I could not get on the flight. Took an Emirates flight from Glasgow the next day. Will not touch that Airline with a bargepole. I was headed to the Marino Beach Hotel Colombo for my 70th.

Etihad are sadly now using Wamos to provide their service between Abu Dhabi and Jakarta , no comparison

Sorry for that experience Josh. I'm looking forward to Saturday's video to see what on earth happened after that Qatar Airways video.
Wow! I live in Abu Dhabi and was at the airport just yesterday. Insanly dissapointed about the fact that a very nicely reputated airline BANNED you. Glad emirates was a good experience. Hope u enjoyed UAE :)
I'm happy you don't give fake positive reviews just so you get free flights or better service. True authentic experience we can really expect ❤
Sam Chui is the master, giving fake positive reviews. Josh tells the truth; we need more like him.
@@josephcarlbreil5380 Agreed. I used to follow Sam but he is more of a promoter than an honest reviewer.
And Josh Google the update of the 18 Australian women suing Qatar over invasive searches and also the Australian government disallowing Qatar extra flights to Australia.

this truly just will make the Qatar airways drama bigger. They should have just accepted the criticism like most airlines do.
This is actually a big compliment to you Josh, means you're right! And it is difficult to deal with feedback
Every change offers resistance to humanity.
I hate when youtubers make honest vids about a airline. and then the airline just bans you for trying to give you feed back to inprove
Proof that Emirates deserves that five star rating.
(For context Emirates is currently a four star airline right now.)
Proof that Skytrax isn’t reliable for ratings
Emirates would ban him too.. Middle Eastern companies do not like negative feedback not in the slightest.

To Hell with Sam Chui. Such a fake little toadie.
you want honest real experience of what an ordinary person may get on the flights I don't follow Sam for that.
Sam is way too famous to not get vip service in economy class they give him first class service
Sorry but Sam Chui is a "goody two shoes". I honestly don't trust his reviews as everything is always so wonderful and fantastic in his eyes. He definitely knows how to get his bread (or is it lobster) buttered on both sides .....😑
Your Qatar video was really good and honest. Disappointed they have banned you.

EMIRATES AIRLINES BUSINESS CLASS A380 will be my favorite.
It's okay Josh. There are a lot of airlines that are worth flying. Keep your honest review going.👍👍
Emirates economy class is my all time favorite as I’m also part of the 90% who travel on economy…
This year (2023) I’ve flown 16 flights- All on Emirates A380 (mostly JED-DXB) and 1 flight on 777 DXB-Budapest
Its always fun to travel on Emirates 😊
Best QATAR airways review ever. If Josh is banned I consider myself banned as well.
the logical thing would be to ask the guy who fly's for a living to have a meeting and discuss how they could improve as an airline.
I have asked them on X, if they have a page where customers can check if they have been banned, before buying a ticket. 🤣😂
No wonder so many people hate Qatar including Airbus.
Its all about Al Baker
I always have a fantastic experience each time I fly EK and I WILL FLY THEM AGAIN.
the main trouble is the fares keep going up and the standards keep going down they are only interested in the profit on any level.
I've just finished watching your video clip on Qatar airways Josh and thanks for the info as we won't be flying with them. Thanks for the heads up!!
No wonder Qatar had a beef with airbus
Recently flew Emirates on short and ultra long haul and the same with Qatar Airways back to back, and Emirates offers many items in their food try in economy compared to QR.
I hope this makes the news, sounds like disgraceful behaviour.
Congrats Josh !
I quite agree with you Josh. Qatar 's flight Services have drop dramatically.
#Emirates is the best , from booking tickets to food and service . Love Emirates ❤️,
Qantas have just released new terms and conditions on travel with them. Mobile phones are not permitted on flights to film or photograph staff while travelling. 😮
Based on that, flight reviews do not need to show the crew - key words is film or photograph staff. Can still film outside, plane interiors, and the lavatories.
At least Emirates seems to have some integrity and not just censor critics. Shame on Qatar, what a despicable deed by them
I’m so glad you made a joke about eating your greens! Whenever I see your finished tray, I’ve often noticed your salad or vegetables left. How do you look so fit and healthy without eating your veg?? Grossly unfair. 😂🤣
Are you sure this wasn't air Canada?
'Remove before flight' takes on a whole new meaning \m/

I love Emirates ! Thank you for this flight report .

Emirates Airline is the pride of Middle East, they are the BEST. I've been flying with them since 2006
What a shame for them.
Since then i fly #emirates DXB-JFK 2-3 times a year on A380, my fav seats around 44 row, plane, service, food all great.
your videos are so interesting, I don't even feel like skipping the loo review
Wow, that's a kind of serious thing being censored, cancelled and banned by Qatar. How will Qatar ever recover from this as the travelling world will learn about what negative feedback and review from a passenger can cause. Being silenced is not the right way to respond. I find it scary and really shocking
The Emirates 777 Business Class will eventually be upgraded to have the 1, 2,1 layout- my favorite.
As is: you get a lot of legroom but the shoulder and hip room is disappointing.
The A380 feels like a Maybach by comparison.
So Emirates did not save you. You rebooked with another airline.
A simple saying comes to mind 'The truth hurts' 😊
Qatar airlines did a shameful thing Even Air China did not.😅
Emirates is my favourite. First flight in 1987.when Al Italia delayed their flight from Dubai.
It's their loss u do u bro we all support your content. ❤
I would have tried to get on the Qatar plane anyway and filmed the results. I would bet they would have just taken your money and given you a boarding pass.
I love Emirates when you order kosher you get served before everyone else and get better food😂
Am curious to what the supervisor said when you told him to you were banned
He went silent and looked at me, I knew exactly what he was thinking but he was too afraid to say anything cuz it might risks his job.
