You're an awesome person, this will be very helpful because this is way cheaper than any premade pack I've seen so far and it will help me in the future when I want to upgrade my ninebot for more speed.
Hi I had a question? I have a 48 volt battery out of my hiboy titan with the same connector can I just plug that in to my scooter and flash it? Would appreciate any help
Hiya, first off thanks a bunch for this detailed guide! I’m currently following this video to make my own battery pack but I’m kinda stuck on how to connect the bms to the pack, can you possibly give some more detailed instructions about this?
@@G30MaxForce good to hear that thanks for the reply, i want test this bms with my monorim motor but when i brake the led is red from the bms, is it a problem?
Only when you brake? On mine it stay on only while charging...and after for a bit of time until it is getting discharge a bit! I don't think is should be a problem. But maybe you can dig for more information about it. Let me know 👍
@@G30MaxForce yes only when i brake, but when i charge it dont show red, i did a 10km drive with gen1 and the bms was cold and good but the monorim motor need very much watts
Hey man great video, was just curious on how you put the battery in the case or how you soldered the battery connection (orange on it) Those are 18650 batteries? What amperage is good?
Hey, thank you... Yes they are 18650 Batteries, but now I will recommend to use 21700 now...they are more reliable! I soldered the discharge plus wire on the plus pole of the battery, than the minus discharge wire on the BMS ( B- ) And you have to choose wich connectors you wanna use XT60 or XT90 antispark that I reccomand! The charging ➕️ wire.. again... on the plus pole of the battery and the charging ➖️ wire on the ( C- ) on BMS Than I just wrapped the battery!
im thinking about using an aftermarket controller and increasing voltage to a 5s battery which would be 20v in addition to the 42v so 62v as opposed to the 58.8v as you are doing here. i wonder if the motor can handle it. i have a gen1 motor AND a gen2 motor. if i blow a motor i will still have a backup. might even try 6s battery so 66v
Can you send a list with what you bought to build the battery pack excatly i would be really thankful im trying to buy from anyone from aliexpress but u dont trust them . Plz men send me this information thanks ypu video is the best
Hi, do you have a schema how the XT60 Y-splitter is connected? I mean, is + of original battery (36v) connected to + of the controller or maybe the other way ? Installed the external battery today, updated soft according your instructions. After 200m of ride the scooter lost power and switched off. There was no reaction to power button, nor to charging. After 20 min it came back to normal but I don't kniw what is the reason for this failure
Im I supposed to charge the scooter with the external battery disconected or conected ? When i have it disconected it and i try ti charge it shuts off but the light on the ps is red so imagine still charging. I have not tried charging it while conected how am i supposed to charge the batteries ?
Hey 👋 I did 48V upgrade and got some issue. I did not get any issue when going free wheel (speed increase and stay at 40km/h) but when I tried to ride, it in few hundred meters stops and than it needs restart, after few restarts, it won't start for 10 minutes (just boots for few seconds). After 10 minutes it works again (heat from engine is OK).. Do you know where can be a problem?
Hey! I think that there is a problem with your battery pack! Make sure you used good cells with the same voltage *each* and same capacity...otherwise the BMS is cutting off - even if only one cell is bad! Just ceck with a voltmeter each series connection and look for the same voltage! Let me know.... 🖐
@@G30MaxForce Hi, so I have checked the voltage of each series is pretty the same. I have found that some of the transistor (idk if that is really transistor but one of the 15 black think at BMS) is getting warmer when 48V is applied. How did you connect the balancer wires? B3 = series 1 3.7V, B4 = series 2 7.4V, B+ = series 3 11.1V?
@@G30MaxForce I didn't connect B- to B1 and B2. I checked the resistance between this and found, that it's already shorted. You think that It needs to be connected?
I don't know for sure... But search and Follow this 3S diagram I did it to mine...you also said that one of the mosfets gets hot, so try it. Also, if it still got hot solder the P- discharge on the C- charge. So ( P- ) will be free. You also can put a heat sink on top of all mosfets to help heat dissipation! If is really hot trow that BMS and get a new one BMS! Did you used new cells? Or used cells? Does them also have the same capacity? www.ebay.de/itm/353652383923?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=707-127634-2357-0&ssspo=id8ocvckr-a&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=_49pqTEfSU-&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
You don't need 7 series...only 3 series...and 7 Parallel.... 3s7P To calculate de Ah you have to know what cells did you have. For ex: Samsung 35E cells 4.2v 3500mAh 3x 4.2v connected in series will result 12.6v that's what you want. And than 7 Parallel 3500mAh ×7 = 24.500 mAh ( 24,5 Ah ) But also you don't need 7 Parallel because you internal battery has only 15300mAh ( 15.3 Ah ) and if you do 3s5p that will be 12.6 and 17.500 mAh and that's more than you internal. And it will be good! Because you internal will drain first and in the external you will still have some Ah left. So again, you have to be sure that you external pack has at least 15.300 mAh like you internal battery. If there is less in your external will drain faster than you internal and you will damage the external pack and your scooter will shut the power off and also you will damage the BMS of your internal battery. If you do 7 series that will be 29,4 V with samsung 35E cells 29.4v + 42v of your internal will result 71,4v you will have a lot of speed but you will damage the Controller. CONTROLLER can handle only 63v but you better stay on 48v to avoid the risk of damaging the controller. Series connection is only for speed Parallel connection for distance!
I used Lithium-Ion Battery LG INR18650 MJ1 3.6V 3.5AH batteries and i built it exactly like you with same bms but i put 7 i parallel instead of 5. so i would have a total of 24.5Ah? since 7*3500=24500 but max voltage is like 12.42V with this setup im good to ride right ? i will not damage my controller ?
Hey man im really in need of your help . I have the same bms as you . But I have one question in your video you dont show where the xt cable is connected on The bms can you please explain where I should connect it ?
